Having seen a few clips of theatrical interpretations, this is actually my favourite version of this scene. The characters have so much affectionate chemistry, they’re so comfortable around each other and they take care of each other even when Prior is being flippant and Louis becomes hysterical. Such a beautiful take
Yes, they really do seem like a couple who've been together for years, who have a shorthand and a familiar intimacy, not just two actors working on a project for a few months pretending to be so.
I think Justin Kirk is the absolute #1 Prior Walter. His facial expressions. His mannerisms. His delivery. I have seen all other versions with other actors, but Justin Kirk is the quintessential Prior W.
Every single person in the cast of the HBO is the greatest possible! I feel like everyone won all the awards except Ben Schenkman (Louis), who, outta everyone, might be my absolute favorite. I think about the final Louis-Joe scene a lot, especially post-2016... The writing, the broader meaning with respect to GOP depravity, but also specifically Ben Schenkman's performance
I absolutely love this movie. Absolutely brilliant. I think it's the best movie that revolves around homosexuality and what comes with it. The entire cast is brilliant and I can't help but cry like a little b**** at the scenes where prior is in pain.
i know! andy! i saw weeds before i watched this movie even though it came out earlier than the series. he is a very good actor. i would think if he had taken this role he would not be serious or intelligent because he played andy so well that i thought that was justin kirk's real personality, but it was a role.
At this point, Prior and Louis have been together for four years. Prior could've contracted HIV from a previous partner which only recently progressed to AIDS. In the scene, Prior mentioned "fellating" Louis (i.e., oral sex) for those four years, implying they may have never engaged in anal sex. Not all gay men enjoy anal intercourse and many prefer other forms of intimacy.

@@JackAShepherd I know what u mean, poor guy prob got shafted because he fit Louis so well..
Idk I'm kinda sold with Andrew Garfield's portrayal
100 percent right u are ..he IS Prior W.
"I never visited." Great foreshadowing
"I can't find a way to spare you, baby"... Shit
A gem. an eternal gem.
Louis for all his faults and mistakes and selfishness did love Prior, and that was clear in this scene.
I never new about this movie - I'm in shock !!! what a film
Beautiful acting.
I only just discovered this movie! Wonderfull stuff!
I always thought he said “chaos, baby”
KS = Kaposi's sarcoma.
Beautifully written!
Amazing scene❣️

I don’t know who was a better Prior Walter between Justin Kirk or Andrew Garfield
I still prefer the series version
Hey, it's the guy from Weeds!

He was so hot in Weeds -- i.e., when he's not portraying a character with a wasting disease
Awesome Baby
I only liked Andrew Scott’s performance of angels of America so far. Everything else pales in comparison
RUclipsReviewer 00 I totally disagree. Al Pacino, Meryl Streep, Jeffrey Wright and Mary Louise Parker are all just as amazing.
Even Andrew Garfield's?
so sad
Louis needs his Mammy.
Mabye im being stupid but if they were dating and presumably only having sex with eachother, how did Prior get AIDs but not Louis?
Always wondered about that too.

AIDS has an incubation period from 9 months to 20 years. That's why it's possible. Louis might not see symptoms until years later.
this reminds me of that scene in kids, where the hot chick get the hiv diagnose
Bjørn B Excellent, like, incomparably better, LOL
I seen that movie so many times! Raw
How can I watch it all does anyone know
its on HBO, i supose that you can binge it if you use the freetrail
Get HBO Max and binge watch all 6 episodes
Louis was the worst. Tied with Roy.
I agree. He’s insufferable all the way through this. Tony Kushner has said that he based Louis on himself - hard to believe.
I bet you're a bothsideser who says Biden's as bad as Trump and Pelosi's as bad as McConnell 🙄
