As for the "war movie" vibe, this particular song sounds a lot like Creedence Clearwater Revival, whose songs are often used in Vietnam war movies.

@@davidhoward2487 I can see actually both. The lyrics are about prohibition, gangsters and speakeasies but musically it has that 60s-70s feel you could see on the soundtrack of any Vietnam war-film. It's the best of both worlds. It shows the song as a song that can always withstand the test of time.

This has been my favorite song since 1972. We had moved from California to Arizona. We had just driven in to Williams AFB in Az. and The Hollies were playing that night in the NCO club. I was crashed in the back seat of the car while my dad, mom, and big brother and sister went into the club (things were safer then). I was so mad when I found out they had seen The Hollies. I was only 7 at the time. I took me a while to get over it. Great video !

I just listened to this song the other day. This song always reminds me of a friend of mine's parents. They played this song all the time, in fact the first time I heard it was at their house. Reading the lyrics to this song I realized I didn't know many of them, I have been mumbling to this song for years and years and not getting very many correct. By the way, not that anyone cares, the woman at the beginning and end of the video is the actress Charlotte Rampling. My favorite Hollies song is He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother, followed by Bus Stop.

This song (performed by Charlie Sexton) was used in the movie "Air America".

"The plot of the film is adapted from Christopher Robbins' 1979 non-fiction book, chronicling the CIA-financed airline to transport weapons and supplies in Cambodia, Laos and South Vietnam during the Vietnam War."

You're are correct the music has been used in Vietnam movies , infact the comments you made that was exactly the movie it was in.

This is my favorite Hollies song. It has been one of my favorite songs for decades. Thanks for covering it. The only thing I do not Ike about the Hollies is their name. I’ve always thought it sounds too frilly or childish for the music they played. Try “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother”. Probably my second favorite Hollies song.

It does sound and feel like a Vietnam War era melody! You're so imaginative Ty!

I get what you're saying with the era & vibe of the song and there are several that were around while war was happening. there's barely any recent war movies that have been made that doesn't have CCR in there somewhere.
Your vids are great. Don't sweat the small stuff, lol! Keep it up
