Hey Ben, if it's not already planned could you maybe demonstrate some of the self-driving / blue cruise features on the Raptor? I'm stuck with my 18' raptor awaiting my 21 to arrive, while those features are hardly the purpose of the truck they do come in handy from time to time. Curious how good those systems actually work.
The novelty of "haha big supercharged v8 goes brrrrr" wears off. If the TRX did everything the raptor does and more, that'd be one thing-- but it doesn't. In fact it's deficient in many areas that are much more important than superfluous horsepower. Just my 2c.
If I could pick between the two, I'd still pick the twin turbo V6. The TRX is tethered to being within 300-350 miles of a gas station, whereas the Raptor is more like 500-550. That's a 50-80% improvement. Even if the Raptor used a 33 gallon tank instead of a 36 gallon tank, the difference would still be well over 50%.
Engine vs engine, bottom line. If you must have a v8, don't buy a Raptor (yet). Below is a list (for me), having been a gen 2 owner, now in a gen 3 (35") that largely tips the scale in Fords direction: (if you're on the fence) 1: vehicle price (Raptor has more useable options) 2. MPG. It would drive me crazy filling the tank ~twice as much. 3. BlueCruise: Drove ~2k miles, and was a great experience! 4. On-board generator: SUPER handy 5. Back seat/floor storage organization/flexibility. 6. Fog/off road lights 7. Exterior lighting options/flexibility. 8. Bed tie-down hook options, and lighting. 9. Tailgate step has always been a plus! 10. Raptor's continued/proven history over the years. To each their own, but those are my top 10 for staying with Ford.
Damn, you’d figure the raptor for the highway because of the fuel economy…. Interesting. I’m caught between these two trucks. I definitely want to do some over landing and camping in the truck and trying to make up my mind is brutal. I do want to make some cross country trips as well…. Blue cruise sounds like a dream as does the fuel economy but the trx power is dreamy 🤣😂 and I like the looks of the trx. Such a dilemma
@@A_Based_Entity ya cause ford build quality is sooo good. There bronco are having shaking roofs and their eco boost is either eco or boost and bad mpg
Honestly if you can afford the TRX then the gas mileage isn't even a concern. Unless you hate getting compliments while fueling up..in that case definitely pick the Raptor and make fewer stops for fuel. 🙂
If you're talking about daily driving the Raptor would be the better truck. The TRX is made to go have a blast with on a day off. Granted if you have the money for a TRX you're probably not worried about the fuel economy, or lack thereof but the fact remains that if you daily drive a TRX over the Raptor you will be spending a TON of money on gas. That said I do like the look of the Raptor, it's very aggressive looking.
@@lonnyjohnson8732 From a comfort standpoint maybe, from a utility standpoint the comfort only goes so far when you're at the gas station 3 times as often, especially with the way gas prices are going.

Dude whatever GM is doing will be superior to both these if they do there homework right! We want an extended cab, short bed, NA v8,10 speed, Denali style front end but with wide body, 17" 35's and call it C4 after the 2001 GMC C3 and the Chevy make it similar but single cab with 22" rims and beefy tires and low stance Silverado SS.
The Rams usually drive better, but the Toyotas are more reliable. A base model Maverick gets much better gas mileage, if you do not go over its tow and payload ratings. Or the Ford Lightning all-electric or wait for the Tesla or Rivian trucks for fat wallets up front.
Is it bad I'm sitting here listening to this saying well Ben... you've always been a Raptor fan boy. It's difficult to watch this and think it's totally objective. I'm not sure how you could fix it though as I'm sure the content does wonders for the channel.

The RPM holding in the raptor that you talk about at 8:00 is by design. The truck is doing that to keep the turbos in boost, especially in Baja mode.
So basically the only L for the raptor is it not having the v8 we all want. Got it. Ill wait for the Raptor-R.
