This is a casual rugged outdoor boot. Not a “WORK” boot or a “HIKING” boot ! And there is nothing wrong with that ! these are for those that like the look and feel of a logger style boot ! This is a beautiful piece of footwear ! The only boots I’d purchase from TBC in my opinion! 👍👍👍 Good Job on these Challengers TBC !
These boots are heavier than the iron ranger. One of the reasons I like the Redwing Iron ranger is because it is a tough light weight boot. When I recraft the IR, I plan on giving it a leather midsole and a Dr Sole rubber half sole to keep the weight down. The PNW as well as these boots are a bit too heavy for me to wear all day. It is a nice boot if you don't mind the weight and it is lighter than the Nicks. I think these boots fit a niche, people who want a nice looking PNW boot type boot without the full toughness of a PNW boot. I would put it in the casual with some working capabilities. I wouldn't be digging ditches or setting up concrete forms with this boot, but I would use it if I was hiking or clearing the yard type stuff. And it shines up nice to go on a date or hanging out with friends.
Got mine in stone rambler 10 days ago and I'm impressed with them.....I'm a welder and work in JKs and like you I'll never wear these to work but man i really really like these boots!! Great review btw you have a new subscriber!
I had dodged and weaved buying a pair of Thursday Boots for so long. I’m used to thorogoods, Danner, redwings, etc and I finally decided to get a pair of the loggers from Thursday, and then like 2 weeks later they came out with these!! I feel robbed! These are way nicer than the logger that Thursday makes. 😂😂 nice video!

Just received my pair in stone rambler. Only came with one pair of laces (the over-length set). Have emailed them asking for the other two sets of laces to be sent. They seem pretty decently assembled on first look. Sizing is as per Thursday website (I’m a 10 in sneaker and order a 9.5 in these), and fit is good. Time will tell 👍
It’s definitely an acquired taste but now that I’ve gotten used to wearing woodsman heels and Cuban heels that’s pretty much what I like to stick with at this point. Thanks for watching and commenting. God Bless

It is for sure and even though I know the durability suffers from that I honestly love how flexible it feels. Also I think it’s unique and different and anything different is something I tend to like. Thanks for commenting. God Bless.
You can get that quality at that price, overseas mto, China, Indonesia, etc. The last looks weird on those, the heel section’s slanted forward. I wonder if the ball of the heel will slide forward a bit, the things built like a slide 🛝 Most well-made boots are flat under your heel Those flex grooves will cause the insole to likely break apart during a resole. I feel like they Frankenstein’d these things
I have a pair on order from Indonesia I’ll be showing soon and there is definitely some high quality stuff coming out of that area no doubt. I think these are unique and I like them but I guarantee you if they end up being garbage long term I’ll be the first one on here to say so lol. These were just the initial impression. Thank you for watching and God Bless.
@@bushisahomono it does not. Look at the angle in the heel stacks. This Last was not designed for such a high heel. The Lasts Nicks and other PNW brands use have a large heel to toe drop to them, so the heel is flat and they don’t need to sand the heel stacks like this. This is a copycat move.
@@EDHBlvd thanks for commenting man. Huge fan of your channel and your collection. I have not had any problems with my foot sliding forward in the boot but yet again I don’t use it for anything but casual use. My PNW boots are the only boots I work in. I am however impressed with the construction and leather at the price point these come in it. But 100% they are not a PNW boot nor are they intended to be. God Bless

I like that stone rambler (because I don't have anything like that) but not a huge fan of the the logger heel; just me. Just got the email from Thursday for the Thunder and those are certainly beefy but have that toe bump (don't know the last) but only have three colors in 'normal' leather and nothing as 'nice' as these. I have their Stompers for casual wear (I know but the Hero wasn't an option at the time) and Captains as a dress boot. Really nice they went with different leathers.
I saw the email about the thunder coming out and I like the bump toe as well. Very reminiscent of the 310 viberg or the 11067 last from nicks. Thanks for commenting. God Bless
Looks nice on the outside , but i wonder being its thursdays , and selling the horse rump is a good catch but horse rump is not thin and its a stiff leather to start out nothing soft about it also all my thursdays boots has no strong structuer so it tends to bother my feet when its gets worn down .i need to go to the store and see it and feel with my hands
When I say thinner I’m comparing it to my heavy duty boots of similar style and silhouette. It feels standard for horse rump. I’d guess somewhere between 2 and 2.2 mm thick. I was just speaking to the fact that it was PNW boot thickness. And it is stiffer than leather like CXL at the same thickness but not as stiff and some other veg tan boots over worn. It has a medium to stiff temper. I really like mine so far. They feel solid under foot and I enjoy wearing them. Thanks for commenting. God Bless
Nice review , but i think your pishing the envelop , truman grant stone whites parkhurst , no those are not there yet.. as for truman , truman rocks dont know what truman boots you have but they are solid. 2nd to my whites and then gs then parkhurst
I’ve owned grant stones and Parkhurst and I truly believe these are every bit as durable as those. The finishing is not near as good and I said that in the video. But for a robust casual boot this is a solid boot in my opinion. And Truman not using true toe caps and also having a canvas gemming to secure the welt just ruins it for me at that price range. In my opinion there are just better options. That being said I do like Truman’s leather choices and think they do great thinks with unique leather selection. God Bless
I have just ordered these same boot. These are my ninth pair of Thursday. I have Nicks urban logger. It will be interesting to see the difference btw these and nicks. I'll be interested in knowing what you think of the step placement of the boots, because the heel section looks like the entire upper was slanted to achieve the large heel. I'm not sure if that would make it feel like your foot is sliding forward all the time.

Funny you mentioned that as I got an email from Thursday for their The Thunder line but only in three colors (black, tobacco and wheat) and has a slight toe bump (like the 20 last on Truman's) and a higher walled/squared off toe. I really like that Challenge in Stone Rambler though (or that Chelsea).
