Wait did you say “cafefe with carlito” at the end ? 😂
@@aliananjum5662 Haha yes
Dang that Challenger boot looks amazing. Im torn between what to get. The whiskey or the stone rambler. Whiskey is beautiful and the Japanese leather with that shine is even more but if it was a little darker it would have been perfect. But yea I don't work in a labor environment and would use these for style till they wear down and then use them for work around here and there. When I do my work around the house or my rentals.
I always liked the idea of a full cap toe. Gives you more structure and durability if you want that but dont need a steel toe, and the idea of just replacing the cap and not the entire vamp is intriguing to me
the new thursday boots look interesting. i will wait and see some reviews after some use but they look interesting. i think id go with drews made in mexico boots at that price point but these are an interesting hybrid of dressier loggers.
Thats true- there really isnt much like these Challengers out there. Maybe something like a Whites MP on a commando sole? But for a "dressy" logger this is pretty cool.
I think one thing you can be sure about about these will be instant comfort but we’ll see if they stick with that.
@@CoffeeWithCarl1 notice these new black labels use shinki shell, black for the chelsea and coffee brown for the challenger.
Enjoyed this one, would be in for Ginew as you know. At first thought it was spelt GNU which is an antelope this side of the world.
Those thursdays are fuggly
The Ginew shirt looks pretty sweet! Those Grant Stone Garrison boots would really suit me and also those Thursday boots!
Nylon and wool work together pretty well. I still prefer 100% wool, but wool/nylon 80/20 does wear like iron Had a blended shirt for years. Loved it and finally wore the elbows/forearms out..
Woolrich vintage hunt coats were made with a nylon blend.
Thanks for sharing!
I definitely find the Thursday Challenger interesting. My concern is that Thursday is unlikely to offer resoles/recrafting on them, and if my experiences in Rhode Island are applicable to most places, you're unlikely to find a local cobbler who is going to have any idea what to do with them when they need a resole. Maybe I'm wrong but I'm guessing most mail-in cobblers will charge almost the same value as the boots to resole them.
I am glad being able to help every month with my contribution. I really enjoy seeing the Coffee videos. I think they are acquired taste with this type of video. I hope this channel grows as your other one has. I really like how you find the companies that I would of never see on my own. And, Like I really need another pair of boots, I am waiting on my new Thursday's Challenger boots in the Stone Rambler with CF Stead leather. They look like a Nick's boot with beefy Vibram sole and the leather. I hope they are worth the money. Between my Nick's that I am waiting on and getting fitted for my Russell's next week, it's been an expensive 2 years in boot buying.
Omg I did see Dave’s loafer episode and I loved every second of it! It was excellent. Great round up! Is Thursdays challenger series the collaboration you working with them on? Definitely some solid options. These always make hump days better! Hope you have great rest of your week!
Great job on the video I love the comparison of the revolver and semi automatic. I totally get that.
Just a comment on the Patagonia. I have an Iron Forge Hemp Canvas Barn Coat based on one of your older videos. This thing is my favorite Fall/Spring jacket for all sorts of stuff, including real work around the homestead. It's like putting on a cozy comforter and keeps me warm.
The only downsides are that it doesn't hold up to rain or wet snow very well, since the shell is basically cotton, and there is no hood or hood option.
Probably one of my favorite clothing purchases, and the price is very reasonable, though it is made overseas.
Looking forward to you or any of the prominent channels getting their hands on these and reviewing.
Also, pull the trigger on the GS Stag leather boots. They look AMAZING!😊
Thanks! Will do!
as a rider i would never use a wedge sole. need grippy treads and a heel to hook on my pegs.
That’s Shinki Cordovan is beautiful, it’s a Cuban heel btw, I ordered mine already, I may have ordered the wrong size, I’ll find out when I get them
I'm with you on avoiding the current "technology for the sake of itself. I bought a jeep with air suspension but the air springs are controlled by an Android and when I let the battery die it doesn't work at all.
So glad you mentioned the cuts in the new thursday boot. I noticed those myself and when nobody else mentioned them I thought maybe I was imagining things. I'm also curious about the effect on break in as well as longevity.
A friend at work bought a pair of Thursday's, they had issues. They did replace the pair for free, so they stood by the product but the initial quality control was lacking. Another co-worker bought a belt from them, it split in two, it was two pieces of leather instead of one thick piece. I do hope this boot works out for them, but I'll sit on the sidelines and see if they have improved before buying a pair from them.
I think Thursdays found a good niche for their products with price and value. Their boots all seem pretty decent for the price. I got one of their leather jackets and a year later it still has a chemical smell.
Mostly with them, i dont trust anyone who constantly repeats how ‘honest’ their prices are. Also they say their honest prices are as low as possible with slim margins blah blah. But as you mentioned they spend an absolute fortune on ads. It doesnt matter what platform im on, thursday is blasting me with ads. That makes me feel that marketing is more well funded than the footwear part. Only my opinion.
Have you seen Brave Star's "deputy CPO flannel for $168? I don't like it as much as the quilt lined wool blend version they had last year but it still looks good and is under $200 made in USA.
I don't remember you mentioning the new boot options from Origin. The hybrid smooth toe with canvas panels is something I'm interested in as an Arizona resident and I love Moc toes and they just came out as well and the MSRP is from $299 to $329 I believe.
Those Thursday boots look like a perfect casual everyday boot that you can wear on the weekends when you don’t quite know what you are going to get in to. I like them a lot, unfortunately i pretty much exclusively wear cowboy boots now. Maybe one day we can see Cowboy Carl???
I love wedge sole boots. I’d prefer them without HD logo
I wonder if Thursday will make a high top loafer, sorry, a moc toe boot 🙊
😂😂😂
Seriously though, love ur vids, keep it up 👍
Much appreciated, and thanks for the laugh!
I couldn't resist, i ordered a pair of the challengers
While I agree that I am not a fan of engineer boots with a wedge sole, I will say that I prefer a wedge sole when riding. I feel too restricted when I ride with a boot with a heel. I like to be able to slide my foot up and down on the controls without my heel getting caught.
Thinking about getting the waxed trucket jacket from Huckberry. Any thoughts on the flannel-lined vs an exta $60 for the wool-lined? I live in New England is that is relevant.
the study blazer and Isaac pants from the Indi and ash new drop looks nice
I own about 8 pairs of boots. Some are pnws for work, some are more casual and lightweight. I've never used anything but leather laces and I've never had any sort of issue whatsoever and I've never had a lace come undone. Ever. I can't stand other materials for laces, and I don't use them, and it's probably why I've never had a single problem.
The shocking part about the challenger has to be that they found enough Shinki for a run.
The Challengers are intriguing but they look like they have the short height toe box (like my Thursdays). I prefer more height in my work boots so I’d probably pass on them for a work boot though I’d definitely wear them as a casual dress boot. I agree wholeheartedly about the White’s/Harley collab, something just ain’t clicking there for me. That Patagonia shacket looks interesting enough I might invest in one. I live in a pretty mild area and rarely need anything more than my waxed canvas jacket, and it’s sometimes too much.
Those heavy duty Thursday boot looks too big for slim cut or tapered jeans. Stick to regular or straight cut jeans.
Those Thursday boots look pretty rugged and nice. I wish my feet would allow me to wear them. That style of boot is just too punishing. My hockey skates hurt me enough already!😊
Definitely keep the bike. If it once was important to you it will come back around. It did for me and a lot of friends.
I have a pair on the way......I'm a welder and wear jk 300x boots for work so we will see
I wish Thursday would bring back their old diplomat boot which was modeled after Indy boot. The Indy boot is to expensive for what you get but I still like the design.
Not shocked Thursday can make this boot. There are some highly skilled show makers in Leon. Though, you have to ask at 500+ for some models, I wonder if the finishing will be on par with other premium boot makers from other countries. Very curious about them. I am tempted by franks. That Ryker boot looks good.
I love what they did and I know Thursdays is notorious for the sleek almond toe look but I’m not feeling it with this type of boot.
They should have went chunkier on the toe cap for this look. Just my opinion, but it reminds me so much of a woman’s logger.
the new thursday boots are probably their best but they still have that dressy look, slim cap toe witch i don´t like. i prefer a little bulkier toe cap. that is why i love red wings and nicks, they have that round and structured toe.
Those Franks are super dope and in stock! However I feel Franks heels are too tall. My pair of Frontrange boots has a heel even taller than Nicks Classic stack heel.
Not sure if you follow Rose Anvil but that is a good channel. He cuts a lot of shoes in to half and reviews it.
Thursday is larping.
Of course the thirsty boot doesn't come with height options or other customizations, but the price is fairly low perhaps for the build quality. We'll see.
I was going to get their "Logger" because it was a little bit taller in the upper, but basically the same boot as Hero.
Also, their sizing guide is usually off by one or two sizes, so when they say half DOWN, I usually must go half UP instead [or true sometimes].
I was just watching last year's vid where ye gave the guy three pairs wedge sole to try for each month and wishing their had been additional months with a couple of them or maybe new ones thrown into the mix to take the series into at least half a year with challenge, etc. More of that?
Drew's still owes me $40
I don't know if any other Thurs products are worthwhile. I know I've watched vids and forgot already.
so the challenger isn't the carl x thursday collab then, i was curious about that
Yeah thought this was the collab boot. Is that still coming out, I am looking at getting another pair of Thursdays but want to see if the Carl collab is going to happen.
What’s up Carl have you touched on Best Made making a comeback? Hope all is excellent
Yes sir, in the episode this week!
Dont understand that sole on the White's, just doesn't look right,i can see them maybe experimenting with soles but get the color right, those stick out like a sore thumb, good stuff this week
Any chance of the challenger in a ladies version?
That Thursday Boot looks interesting
First
Welcome!
Did Harley Davison go woke?
That Thursday logger is disgusting. The Last doesn’t have proper heel drop for such a tall heel. Lending to that strange heel angle. Second place is the first loser.
Ginew is a typical overpriced hipster portland brand
