      The 3 stooges then threw out the co-pilot and one took his seat apparently thinking "I got dees." An INSTANT aviation instrument panel expert he believed the fuel indicator was lying. He then does his own independent research with the panel, "I wonder what dees buttons do? Let's see. Oooooh! And what about dees one?" In the movie "Captain Phillips" the ship hijacker announces "I'm the Captain now?" I guess this terrorist had that moment. Phillips was played by Tom Hanks who also played pilot Sullenberger in another movie. Unfinished with his three year old toy playing mind he starts pushing pedals---just to see what will happen! It is indeed a miracle ANYBODY survived this flight.
      Too bad they didn't have a special "in case a hijacker sits in this seat" ejector button," for him to play with! Or maybe the captain has a cockpit trap door and lets them all free fall! Nice. But alas, these planes are pressurized and dropping these guys off creates its own set of problems, aw shucks, but it's fun thinking about it anyway!
      Years ago they showed on a TV special the captain leaving the hospital (walking) with a few bandages. Under the circumstances, fighting terrorists and surviving the crash at sea he came out pretty well all things considered. I wonder what he's doing today, must be in his 60s.

    As a stewardess I can never stress enough how important it is to listen to the safety procedure given by the air hostess or played by the cabin crew. Of course, this was an extreme situation and in the panic people did what they did, but perhaps the ones who sadly drowned didn't pay enough attention when safety procedures were displayed. A small thinking of "I already know this" or "I don't care" can cost your life. So please, always listen, check, ask the stewardess about safety procedures, they're there for a reason and it may save your life, don't take them for granted.

      Thing is not everyone will follow these safety instructions. Its the human mind of fight or flight and panic. this panic can cause errors or miscalculations. Not to mention not everyone can depend on themselves for help say elderly? Little kids? Mentality disabled ? You can give these instructions time and time again. But it doesn't truly matter till your life is at risk and how you personally think and respond to the situation at hand.

    • @Nitokriis
      @Nitokriis 4 года назад +3

      @@kittybug329 You're ALWAYS at risk when you fly, even though it's one of the safest ways to travel. Cabin crews are trained to work with children and elderly people in case of an emergency and other situations. The moment you're boarding, all the crew sits the passangers according to safety procedures, no matter if they bought a specific seat they will be moved if it doesn't follow standars.
      Instructions are clear, easy, and it takes two minutes of your life to read them. I agree with you that not everyone will listen to them, but it doesn't justify the behavior either. It's incredibly cringy and pathetic to see adults not being able to follow simple instructions, because it's mostly them that break safety rules even when you tell them. It's awful to see that they DON'T want to understand they cannot stand up when we're taking off and when we're landing; that you DON'T have to stand up during turbulence, that you HAVE to wear your seatbelt all the time and not only in the critical parts of the flight.

Most of the families of people who do inexplicable things are innocent and dragged into these situations unwillingly, too. They’re already going to live with a social stigma you or I couldn’t even imagine, on top of the trauma of losing their son/brother/father/friend/whatever. The final left bank that crashed the plane was caused by the donkey riding IQ 30 pirate pushing the controls again. You can see the rudder moving left-right very fast in the final moments in the original video, he thought pumping would help the plane to fly on

      Surprisingly, locking cabin doors didn't even become a thing until after 9/11. Which is weird because flight crews had locks on the cabin doors, but it wasn't uncommon for say a child to want to go in the cockpit and look at all the controls. People just had bigger hearts back in the day but unfortunately the world changed for the worst and the airline industry had to accommodate that

      @@mrslcom 9/11 added locks and significantly reinforced cockpit doors after 9/11. This reared its ugly head later though when a Germanwings plane crashed into the side of a mountain because the First Officer intentionally crashed it. Now there has to be two people in the cockpit at all times. So you can see how good intentions can generally lead to a disaster.
