  • Hello!
    It's Tequila Tuesday!?
    Sure, let's go with that.
    On this episode we are going to take a tour around the studio and look at the Tequila collection. I will do a not so quick tour of the studio quickly.
    This will act as a prelude to our upcoming series "Reese's Pieces". Where I go in depth on "Pieces " of my collection. We will dive into all of the minutiae of certain bottle collections within the main collection. It's going to drive some people crazy! You have been warned.
    This is a long video, so sit back and relax and watch with your favorite drink of choice. Feel free to ask any questions or just comment about something in the comments below. Thanks for watching!
    SALUD!

    I'm a Tequila and Whiskey collector in Colorado myself. You should try using para-film to seal your bottles. It really helps to prevent evaporation and prevents the corks from drying out.

    • @thirstyamigos
      @thirstyamigos  Год назад +1

      Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, I am behind on getting some para-film for my bottles. I grabbed some, but it was not a good brand. Didn't seal very well. I have a name of a brand that I was given in one of the Facebook groups. I need to order it from ebay. SALUD!

    I’m late on the game for this video, but I’m sure there were talks of having a humidifier for keeping the natural corks from drying and also a balance to keep black mold from growing. Regardless, great collection!!! I started collecting since the pandemic started in 2020… from bourbon whiskey, scotch whisky, Japanese whisky, Taiwanese whisky, and tequila. Great collection you have and I enjoyed your video.

    Pretty damn impressive. Given the quality, well made tequila you have, was surprised to see you had some Clase Azul. Is your collection representative of what you drink or more of a collection? Can't wait to see more of your reviews and rankings.

      Thank you very much for the comments! Good ol Clase Azul right. Two bottles, one small and one large one, were donated empty. The other 750ml was full at one time and it was a gift from a friend. I used it to help educate and refine new pallets to show how overly sweet it is compared to a more traditionally made Tequila. I have a few "Manipulated" Tequilas coming up to help educate viewers. I hope to do more Tequila 101 type videos coming up. Thank you very much for watching and supporting our channel! SALUD!

      Sorry, as to your question. I would say it's about 50/50. I have collected a lot of bottles I have never tasted before. I hope to get to most of them too. I am really looking forward to trying the Del Padre Reposado. The other bottles definitely represents what I drink. The usual quality Tequilas. My favorites are El Tesoro, G4, Ocho, Siete Leguas, El Tequileno and Fortaleza. Just to name a few. I do have a large cache of those stashed around.

      @@thirstyamigos ah, that makes sense. I'm not one to "hate" on those that drink the manipulated tequilas, but I do my best to educate people that really isn't tequila, without coming across as a d-bag :)

      @@thirstyamigos is Del Padre the same as Padre? I've never heard of Del Padre. Your favorites are some of my favorites as well. I scored a few bottles of the Ocho Plata Puntas yesterday, and can't wait to get home and try them. Have you had them before? Also, on my list to try is the El Tequileno Sassenach & Cerro de Luz. Any experience with these? Gotta get down to Mexico to try some brands not available in the US....I'm sure my mind will be blown.

    Good collection of old and new bottles but lots of bad tequila in this collection. If it’s just for the pretty bottles then it’s a great collection.

    • @thirstyamigos
      @thirstyamigos  2 года назад

      Interesting observation. I like to grab old out of production bottles. I definitely agree that some of them, the ones I have tasted so far, are not stellar. I can see why some of the brands have not been successful. Other bottles I like to grab are bottles from a favorite distillery I may like, especially out of production bottles. So yeah, there are "bad" Tequilas in the collection, but there are some real gems in there too. What are some good Tequilas you like?

      @@joelrojas2609 , Great list. I have 8 out the 10 you listed in my collection. All are always enjoyed often especially when new to Tequila friends come over.
