Somehow stumbled across this podcast last week after ya'll have put YEARS into it, but the silver lining is that I've had a great few days of binge listening through what has been an absolute dumpster fire of a work week. The talk about nothing has kept up my will to live, so thank you. I'm listening from the beginning and just got done with Krispy Kreme Special, took a sneak peak to see where you all were now. Thrilled to see Breadbasket and Aaron are still rocking and rolling and that Hello Folks has endured (even with that low energy start). Cheers to everyone from watching your 2020 selves. We'll see how long it takes to listen through 200 more of these. It will likely be directly related to how much I need a distraction during work - so I'm guessing I'll be back in about two weeks.
I work from home and listen pretty much all day to the back catalog - it's taken me about 2 1/2 months from 1 up to present, but I've listened to them a few times before (some more than others) so there's a few eps and/or sections I skip. I'd be lost without them.
While on a family road trip from Texas to maine, my mother once unexpectedly let out a rather loud sneeze and startled my father, who was driving. Quite flustered, he yelled, "next time you need to warn me! I could have put an eye out!" We all just about died laughing at his comment, and never let him live it down. To this day, if anyone makes a noise while one of us is driving we tell the person that they should have warned us, we could have put an eye out.
During the height of the SEC conference conversation, Melissa looks like she’s thinking “I’ve got so many things to do and I’m stuck here listening to these idiots”
My husband and I just moved from southern California to Asheville, North Carolina. This was our longest road trip. It took us 4 days to travel 2300 miles with an old and loud 15 ft U-Haul! We practically had to yell over the noise to talk to each other. So for the long stretches, we opted for re-listening to Nateland from the first episode. As we entered the Nashville traffic, my husband yelled out "Hello Folks!" and "Goodbye Folks!" as we left the city. We've seen Nate twice in LA and Dusty once in San Diego. However, now that we're closer to Tennessee, we look forward to taking road trips to see more of the Nateland crew!
Anyone who doesn’t get the appeal of Dustin, needs to watch last weeks episode of The Consumers. Dustin mocked everything Greg Warren loves, including wrestling and Jif! It was soooo funny, I watched the episode twice!
My wife are road tripping from middle Tennessee to the far side of North Carolina. This was the perfect topic. When we finished the episode, my wife said, “I think I’m dumber now than when we started.” That’s her way of saying great job. Keep up the great work!
Last week, Sean shows up late for the Consumers. This week Nate shows up late for the Nateland Poscast, and then the very next day, he shows up just as late for the Don’t Make Me Come Back There podcast. It is looking like Lateland across the board. Happy Thanksgiving to each of you. I am thankful to you for so many laughs this year!
The live shot of Nate’s empty chair was priceless 😂 i’m going to get a T-shirt that has Nateland across the top and then a picture of an empty chair underneath it
I listened to this podcast on one of my last days before moving away from Chattanooga. Hearing Dustin talk about how amazing it is was almost broke my heart. Then, the discussion later hits on how wonderful it is in St. George, Utah which is where I will be moving. What are the odds both places would come up in the same episode. As always, Nateland for the win!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. My road trip experience as a child was a little different. I grew up in central Texas in the 70s and we would make an annual trip to near Augusta Georgia for Christmas. My father, having grown up in the 40's, 50's, and 60's as a black child, understood the risks of a black family traveling across southern states like Alabama and Mississippi did not stop unless it was absolutely necessary primarily for fuel. My mom would pack plenty of snacks, sandwiches and drinks and I would bring books and other things to keep me entertained. My father even kept a large empty jar handy for emergency bathroom needs (number 1) and would empty it when it became necessary to stop. As an adult I try to make a road trip more entertaining and rewarding so I will stop in towns that offer cultural enrichment or hold something of keen interest.
My favorite hitch hiker story: My wife and I were in Ireland for a family reunion with our 2 year old son. We he just left town to visit my uncles house a few miles out. There was someone hitch hiking on the side of the road so I slow down and pull over. My wife is hitting me and can’t find the words to question this decision, with nothing but horror written all over her face. I unlock the doors to allow this man to sit in the back next to our 2 year old. “Megan this is my cousin Anthony” I am glad to report we are still happily married and have had more 2 kids.
I have an important story. One day I was driving home, when all of a sudden the Lord came to me in spirit. I felt very close to Him. I knew if I asked him to play any song on the radio he would, I guess to bless my faith. So I said "ok, Lord play "Come as you are". I turned on the radio and the song started playing right there on the spot, perfectly… I started getting flooded with chills like a waterfall, crying, and trembling. He stayed with me for 10 minutes in my driveway. until I got outta the car. A couple months after that I started getting amazing prayers answered way more often, because it helped me quit doubting when I pray and I was lined up with biblical instructions. It's 7 years later and I still get answered prayers in Jesus name.
Look. I appreciate change and all, but what made this product great was the consistent simplicity of it. The new “last super” studio and all of the guests, it’s just not as good - I feel like I’m watching a Natleand Productions infomercial.
Me too. I feel like Nate is trying to grow his media company? too fast and none of the shows/podcasts are at 100%, like this podcast used to be. He has every right to grow his brand, don't get me wrong, I just feel like they are putting quality over quantity. I admit I like the original podcast but I understand he wants to branch out. I have found myself in the last few months not watching every episode.
On most road trips, my wife would listen to Nateland with me. On our recent road trip I tried to play “don’t make me come back there” thinking she would be all on board cause she loves family. She asked to change it. She’s said Dustin doesn’t talk about anything, which is ironic considering she’s listened to a good amount of Nateland, the self proclaim podcast about nothing. We both went to see Dustin at the Raleigh Improv. He crushed it and my wife absolutely loved it. This episode should be an interesting car ride.
I live in Nashville now but was a swimmer growing up in Chattanooga and am still in touch with some of my old coaches. If Dusty ever needs access to a pool for the race, I can set something up. I’ll be driving down for his special taping in February!
Just head our first boy a couple of days ago. My wife shot down my idea to name him "Dusty Heybeargatze-Likethebreakfastgrill Higgins". We compromised and went with Jensen Theodore Higgins instead. Oh well, maybe next time. Glad to have Nate back!
I love how often Bates will say something that leads to Nate slowly starting to repeat it, then more and more circling the drain, at least 7 to 10 times with the thought only to finish the thought very strongly as if he came up with it. It ends with Bates staring at him with this look of bewilderment. To this day I still can’t figure out if it’s an inside joke or if Nate really doesn’t realize he’s doing it.
I’m so worried we have lost the magic of Nateland. We’ve gone from the cozy easy feeling of friends joking together to a cold distant feeling production. I’m staying because I want to love it and I hope it can tap back in to the magic.
What Dustin is missing, if Saban wasn’t at Alabama, another SEC team would’ve been winning those championships, it’s not the Xs and Os it’s the Jimmys and Joes. Those recruits and players feed to Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Florida. Those teams show up in the playoffs and beat the other conferences. I mean, there are 5 different natty winners in the SEC in the last 25 years in one conference. If you take away the top team from the other conferences, are they still good? The only conference that comes close is the Big 10
My dad once picked up a hitchhiker on the way home from work. The hitchhiker asked my dad to drop her off at a Denny’s that was close to her house. So my dad dropped her off there and went home, no big deal. Later that night around 2:00am my dad got a knock on his door from the police. Apparently this girl had just caused an accident and was fleeing the scene of the crime and the police thought my dad was an accomplice who helped her escape. That was the last time he ever picked up a hitchhiker.
Fun fact, I listen to DC Talk’s Jesus Freak every Sunday morning on the ride to church. After roughly 5 years of doing this, my 8 and 5 yr old kids have grown to accept it!
Im not a fan of the Nickerson's, and judging by the views they have on their pod, there aren't too many people that enjoy them. I kind of feel bad because it seems like Nate would have to be losing money on them. This is the first episode in a long time that i just can't get through.
Got to watch Dusty in Knoxville with my wife (who hates standup) for our 13 year anniversary. Not even a month later and got to see Banjo with my wife at Laugh All Night. Although we didn’t laugh all night Bartleby killed it and may have even changed my wife’s attitude towards standup. I’ll be patiently waiting for Nate and Aaron to get close to London,Ky. The fourth largest London in America. For me and the wife to be able to complete seeing the B. A. N. D. Anyway thank you all for the laughs and I’ll be rocking the We’re having a good time hat and hello folks tshirt at the families house for Thanksgiving. Be blessed. Ricky
Great episode! I love the Nickersons and love when they join in with Nateland. It's nice to hear different perspectives being debated with good humor and mutual respect, from people who seem to actually enjoy each others company. And Dustin's a born agitator, which I think is pretty fun and entertaining. "D'yall get together at every protest?" was unbelivable too.
Uh, no.. speak for yourself. They def do have a following.. I am in their generation, happily married with children. They’re so funny, have a very cute relationship and are extremely relatable to me and many others. They make me laugh and also feel validated in the season of life my husband and I are in by how vulnerable and raw they are with certain aspects of their marriage and life. Love you Nickersons!
Nickerson’s argument against the SEC is the most idiotic thing said on this podcast and that’s a low, low bar. 1) In the BCS era from 1998 to 2013, SEC won 8 out of 16 natty’s, only 3 were Bama 2) In the CFP era from 2014 to 2023, SEC won 6 out of 10 natty’s, only 3 were Bama. The 2019 LSU team was the best team in history.
Looking forward to the variety special and Netflix special.I love the podcast. I have a friend that doesn’t like Nate’s comedy which I love, I considered dropping her as a friend but we’ve been friends too long. She does love the George Washington skits on SNL so that made it better.
Favorite part of this was the SEC argument! Nate said everything I have tried saying to my husband that knows nothing of American football (He is from Germany). Go Dawgs! Sic'em!!
@@simonjohnson4704 They have put themselves out in the public and have to be able to understand criticism. Sce didn't insult them personally, just sad he doesn't like their podcast.
Ugh, Dustin and Melissa in and Dusty is out, not a great trade in my book. I've given the Nickerson duo a couple of tries and I just can't stand it. Dustin on his own is fine, but the team is not a winner in my book.
As a kid our family traveled from southeast Kansas to Denver. It was a 12 hour drive with us kids in the bed of a pickup with a topper on it, in July. Dad bought this thing called a boot that went between the topper and the cab of the truck to funnel ac to the back. Fun times!
I used to drive our church youth group to events all over! The kids knew 3 things: 1-we don’t stop to pee til I need to. 2-if everyone is asleep we are not stopping. 3-Do not ask if we are lost!! Love you guys, 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
The hitchhiking talk made me laugh. My dad picked up a hitchhiker once while my siblings and I were in the car. I had to sit next to her in the backseat. I remember filing it away on my THINGS I WILL NEVER DO AS A PARENT list. 😂
Are my parents the only ones who told us that by leaving the map light on in the car was illegal? My dad told us over and over again that he would get pulled over if that light was on for to long.
It’s also hilarious that Blockbuster used Jackson Tennessee as a reference point for Huntington. Most of us don’t even know where Jackson Tennessee is either 😂
5th graders with smart phones is ridiculous. There are Gabb phones and watches. Smart phones are truly destroying kids physically and mentally and emotionally
No dusty, and no nate, this was a little rough, and I must admit.I stopped less than halfway through. Still like the rest of the crew,But it's just not the same
I hitchhiked home from a neighboring town in Romania and was picked up by a couple. It seemed safe enough. Helf way, in the middle of nowhere, the driver careened off the road to a screeching stop, hopped out of the car and began to beat up a man on the side of the road. When the beating was over, the driver returned, and we continued to my town. I, a single older woman, said nothing during the ride. I had a good cry when I got home.
Got to see Dusty at Hoyt Sherman in Des Moines last week. Great show and we had a good time!!! We’ve now completed 3/4 of the Nateland slam, now just need to get out to see Breakfast Bates sometime soon!! Love the podcast!
As a Buckeye fan welcome to the Big Ten Dustin. This is what we have been saying about the SEC for years. Just for the record we cheer for the Big Ten especially when they play the SEC. Dustin gained a fan. I will start watching his podcast now.
I don't care for the Consumers either, although Greg Warren is funny on here, and I'm sure the other comedians are funny, something about the Consumers and the Nickersons pod just isn't there
I am not a fan of just one or two people hosting a podcast. I really like the dynamic of multiple people like on this podcast but also who those people are really matters too. I really want to like the consumers because of Greg Warren, but almost a dozen episodes in I’m still struggling with it. It just doesn’t have that chemistry for me.
I’ve tried so hard and feel so bad, but I can’t stand their voices or the voices on the Consumers besides Greg. I’m sure it’s the regional accents but it’s all so abrasive on my ears compared to the slower southern tone of Nateland. I could listen to Dusty all day, his voice is just soothing. Makes me sad I can’t listen to Greg’s podcast cause he is awesome. I often think I’ll try again but can never make it past 20 minutes.
It’s pretty clear the Nickerson’s numbers are bad so they’re trying to wrangle more support for it by having him/them guest on the other pods. Probably won’t last if it doesn’t turn around soon. Hate it for Dustin because he seems like a super nice guy, but it’s business ultimately.
Moved from Seattle to Central PA, I could not believe people were choosing Mountain Dew over wine that I brought from Oregon. Mountain dew is straight poison!
Seems like a hot take.. but I love Dustin and Melissa, I thought it was great having them on! Dusty doesn’t quite to seem to fit in with the guys or enjoy doing this podcast when he’s there. The Nickerson’s were fun though! And Nate’s zinger “Do y’all get together at protests” was hilarious 😂
Dustin is a guest on the podcast and comes in and tries to argue/talk over everyone in a desperate attempt to prove his point. I think he is a lot more “California” than he claims to be. Hard pass on him. I need Slay back asap!
“Do y’all get together at every protest?” ….. best line of the year!!!

Truthfully, Briar is pretty funny on here, his stand up isn't all that great, from what I've seen.
@@headreddedstepchild6177 i prefer his standup to his comedy on here, in fact, he’s rarely actually funnier on here, he’s typically the straight man
Ugh, Dustin and Melissa in and Dusty is out, not a great trade in my book. I've given the Nickerson duo a couple of tries and I just can't stand it. Dustin on his own is fine, but the team is not a winner in my book.
If they want an interesting husband and wife podcast they should have Dusty and Hannah on, not these two.
Love you guys, 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
the second that Nate arrives - it turns into soft-core sports television.
Great, bringing back the guest with the most annoying laugh! I would rather just listen to Brian and Aaron.
Edit, 2 annoying laughs! And now terrible singing!
Yes we said the same thing-
The hitchhiking talk made me laugh. My dad picked up a hitchhiker once while my siblings and I were in the car. I had to sit next to her in the backseat. I remember filing it away on my THINGS I WILL NEVER DO AS A PARENT list. 😂
My mom's biological dad was stabbed 47 times while hitchhiking, back in 1972
He died (obviously)
Are my parents the only ones who told us that by leaving the map light on in the car was illegal? My dad told us over and over again that he would get pulled over if that light was on for to long.
Here is a great idea. Let’s keep bringing on guest that get no views on their own podcast 🤦♂️
Also this was a bad episode. Ones without guest are so much better. Melissa’s laugh is rough! Sorry she seems sweet though.
Yup.. Got really annoyed by her laugh.
Ditch the Dew
It’s bad for you.
Dustin Nickerson is the opposite of cool normal speed talking Dusty
Brian’s ad read sounded like Dane Cook’s old bit about ordering through the drive thru at Burger King.
Snooze
Will the Christmas special be available later on paramount+? Who watches live tv anymore besides sports
No dusty, and no nate, this was a little rough, and I must admit.I stopped less than halfway through. Still like the rest of the crew,But it's just not the same
Lost 20 minutes of my life listening to a table of grown men argue about rooting for football teams. 🙄
Mel’s story about Wicked and the girls is peak teenage mom life. Dealing with the same dynamics over here 👋
Listening to your guests justify a child getting a phone hurt my ears
The guests are Californians :/
@@_sowhat_wow 🙄so southern of you
Dustin saying that Clemson is good this year is so telling
41:44 this was awfully guys! The sound was so awful i couldn’t stop laughing. 🤣
I’m not crazy about all the guests they’re bringing on. The other podcasts on the Nateland network aren’t interesting to me.
As a Buckeye fan welcome to the Big Ten Dustin. This is what we have been saying about the SEC for years. Just for the record we cheer for the Big Ten especially when they play the SEC. Dustin gained a fan. I will start watching his podcast now.
Use to love the ad reads… skipped every single one this episode and will continue if it’s like this moving forward. Outside of that great episode lol
Quit trying to force us to listen to the Nickersons. They suck really bad. Just look at their podcast numbers each week.
Ugh, seriously!!
Who turned up the volume on these ad reads!? 🙉 CLIPPING LIKE CRAZY
Good Lord yes.
Packing the family truckster up this morning and this is the perfect way to start a road trip
Ok. Somebody please stop the football debate. Tooooooo looooong.
I heard Nate might make a cameo on this episode!
My wife just walked by and said "ugh nateland is so boring". grounds for divorce!!!
I think Breakfast Bates looks like a live action version of Charlie Brown.
Please don't have these guests on again
Abraham's road trip came before Mose's!
I look forward to this podcast ....not this
Well damn
This show is soooo Stupid
Aaron, as a new dad I hope you know about the real Hey Bear videos - the dancing fruit for kids. Your little girl will love them
Aarons laugh is so contagious! What a way to start!
Nateland begins at 52:45
What time does the SEC segment end?
More like 1:13:00
Dustin is a guest on the podcast and comes in and tries to argue/talk over everyone in a desperate attempt to prove his point. I think he is a lot more “California” than he claims to be. Hard pass on him. I need Slay back asap!
What’s with the sound on the ads…. Brutal
The golf match was very fun for us to see ❤
C'mon Aaron. 231 and 431 are highways. 65 and 85 are interstates.
