The Joke back then(80s before his passing). There was only 5 surviving stories in full with the actor and his tenure and they didn’t even air until his passing here in the U.S. Fans at the time still knew nothing of him as the Doctor but he had a lot of energy and enthusiasm to both promote the series and the 2nd Doctor.
And Frazer Hines... If the Eleventh Doctor can snog Rory for once and the Ninth Doctor snog Captain Jack one time then why couldn't he snog his male companion, he'd think.
SP Murphy When Troughton started as the Doctor, blokes could still get arrested for that sort of stuff in Britain. So I don't think any man-on-man tonsil tennis would have been possible back then on Saturday early evening telly.
Matt Maloney Oh that's slash fanfiction you're referring to. That concept really gained traction in fandom in the 1970s with Kirk and Spock. The Second Doctor and Jamie are a very popular pairing in the Whovian slash fiction community. But yes you're right. It's so strange to think about the illegality of it. Anyways, I love Pat. He was so damn great and I miss him terribly.
"Pertwee? What a nerve! I shall complain about this! You know, he actually said that my TARDIS sounds like an old crow cawing backwards!! What a cheek!"
Patrick troughton is a great doctor who I have power of the daleks on dvd and the face Lees ones and the evil of the daleks and the invasion all on dvd
Loved that schedule back in the 80's that he mentions: 7-7:30pm Mon-Fri for the single episodes and Saturday at 11pm till sign-off for a whole story. In the early 90's, they showed early black and white episodes including the entire War Games before KTEH's broadcasting rights ran out which i recorded off air.
"can we say "I'm the second doctor" as the character is not doctor who" "Just say the lines Patrick" "This'll annoy the Fanboys." "Doctor who...cares" "Grrrr"

I like seeing him being himself.
I love how Patrick has popped up on my timeliness on YT. It's like him saying hi beyond the grave and reminding people what a warm chap he was. ❤
A lovely man whose sadly missed.
A wonderful man...everything he did was just wonderful...and this just proves what a "ordinary"...bloke he was...
God bless you Patrick...
If he were still alive today he'd be in his mid-nineties by now. I wonder what he'd think of Doctor Who now. 🤔
Update: He’d be over 100 by now.
I reckon he'd be wondering why he never got all that snogging action back in the '60s with Debbie Watling and Wendy Padbury.
And Frazer Hines... If the Eleventh Doctor can snog Rory for once and the Ninth Doctor snog Captain Jack one time then why couldn't he snog his male companion, he'd think.
Matt Maloney Oh Pat has a whole estrogen brigade on Tumblr that would gladly volunteer to give the Second Doctor a good snogging :)

2:34 sounded very much like Sylvester mccoy there
I always thought they have very similar energy.
What?!! Pat Troughton doing interviews about Doctor Who!!!
"Pertwee? What a nerve! I shall complain about this! You know, he actually said that my TARDIS sounds like an old crow cawing backwards!! What a cheek!"
Patrick was one of the best!
Gallifreyan Buccaneer not one of the best he was the best
"Now let's do it backwards"
Funny and lovely! Miss you, Pat!
The second Doctor even has a pair of brainy specs just like his future regenerations.
The best doctor
Brilliant. Thanks for putting this up. Great to see these.
I think at that age he would have made a good doctor too. The hair was much nicer here than on the set, with it curling up a bit.
It's funny how, I wasn't too crazy about the 2nd Doctor initially, but he grew on me after a while, then I really started to like him.
What an icon!! :D

Great and interesting footage. Also, I wonder, was it copyrighted, or it is now abandoned and resides in public domain?

The character was credited as “Doctor Who” until Peter Davison era.
