- Woke up to a gray and drizzly day. To brighten my mood I knew I needed to get outside. Milo was happy to come along on a a fall day hike to breath some fresh air and get some exercise, medicine for the mind, body and soul. With up a hike up a local hill, a walk beside a lovely lake and great company we both returned home happy and content. #hiking #womenhike #doglife

we are very happy and grateful to have him . He does like to have pats and loves now and is a generous guy with the kisses too!
Milo is doing so well. He seems more attentive to you. He’s enjoying his sniffarama time. It’s good mental stimulation for dogs and his life is getting better all the time having you and your husband becoming his people! Happy Hiking 🥾🐾

Milo is very sweet with you. It’s like he knows not to pull you or drag you along on the trail. It’s like he is aware you are not as nimble as he is. Some dogs just sense these things, plus he has obviously had some good leash training. Looks like you found an incredible hiking partner! Get him a backpack and have him carry his own water and equipment. That’s what I do. Being outside is the best for dogs. Plus you seem well aware how important it is to let them get their sniffs in! Walk in peace, and keep the videos coming!

Another lovely location and interesting video Wendy. You are so right in your comment 'You don't get anywhere by talking about it". Yesterday I hiked in country near my home with my sprightly little 15 year old dog. A highlight was that we saw two families of kangaroos. You can't beat a walk in nature, in fresh air, and chance encounters with flora and fauna. So long as they don't want to eat you!

... Milo is a natural - "jindos are very loyal and excellent trackers" - I looked them up!
it is the nose- it is always working plus those huge ears. He doesn't miss much that is for sure. thanks Paula. I never knew much about this breed until I saw them online with the adoption group. They are an interesting breed. we are all still getting to know one another.

Milo is a star!! I have three dogs. Two could hike with me, but the third one is a challenge. I'm so afraid he would pull me down a hill or dash in front of me. He is a work in progress. I love your adventures. I miss those beautiful trails in the PNW. The trails here in Mexico where I live tend to be very steep and rocky, though beautiful. Just difficult for my arthritic old body.

Enjoyable video and your dog is just beautiful and well behaved. Nothing like a walk/hike to get out in the fresh air and always feel so good afterwards. It’s important to take walks like you have just done and get to see nature instead of concrete paths.

Canada sure has some really beautiful places to enjoy outside! I'm sure Milo will adapt just fine...these are all just such new experiences for him, but I think it definitely will enrich his life too. I wonder what kind of life he had before you all adopted him? Milo looks like he is enjoying this hike...he looks happy & seems to have really bonded with you too, Wendy!! Wow, it's absolutely gorgeous at the top too. So sweet, puppy kisses...he loves his new Mom & Dad, so easy to tell...both you & Bob & Milo have truly been Blessed to be brought together. Our furbabies don't live long enough, I think...so I'm always so happy when they have good homes, with a family who loves & spoils them! It's so much fun hiking with a dog. I hike with my greyhound. She too, is perfect on the leash. I don't go far with her though, as she is 12 and has a bit of arthritis and greys are known to just stop when tired and not budge. She is 60lbs. and I can't carry her, so I don't venture too far with her. Hike on!
I don't blame you- far too heavy to carry- Enjoy the smaller hikes!
So lovely for you and Milo to go walking together. What a well behaved doggy he is. You live in a lovely area. I'm in Cornwall, England and have some beautiful walks with my Romanian rescue Tommy. He's not so well behaved when it comes to food, a real scavenger 😅 but I love him to bits 💖
I am sure he is a love . Our old Dog was always eating things that he shouldn't. He was a lab, which explains a lot!

Beautiful hike! Make sure your Milo has water on hikes and that he eats as well as you. There's special pet water bowls that collapse that you can carry with you because they're so light. There's alot of cougars and bear in the area so carry bear spray. Always trust your dog if he tells you he doesn't like a place because their noses are a miracle. They smell things we can't see that are there or close by. Your channel is wonderful. Milo is great and he knows he's rescued by you guys! Pets know things we don't know about.

Although cloudy, great views across to the mainland definitely worth the hike. I’m quite slow on climbs these days and need to stop a lot but just do it anyway 🥰.

What a lovely hike with such a sweet boy. Milo looked like he was in his element too, Wendy. I looked up the red-bark evergreen in your video and it's called Pacific Madrone. Grows in very rocky areas; starkly beautiful and so unique. The mushrooms are exploding in your woods too! The last hurrah before Winter comes roaring in.
