    • @wendyoutdoors2230
      @wendyoutdoors2230 12 часов назад

      I take it you are wanting a site on Vancouver Island . I know of a few provincial parks that are open in March- plus some private ones. One of the most popular is Rathtrevor Prov Park in Parksville. The beach is fabulous. Running water at the Sani station and only outhouses open in winter as far as I know. I do love Horne Lake Regional Park where I have done some videos. No running water and outhouses only. 10km of gravel road. On the west coast there is a private one called Surf Grove- more $ but good facilities and near the surf on Cox Bay. I haven't stayed there but know others who have and say it is good. Amazing location. Close to Tofino. There are a few other Prov Parks open- Goldstream, Elk Falls,Stamp river, Sproat Lake and Morton Lake which I love but that is a rough road. No running water at any of these I don't think due to freezing pipes in winter although water can be found in near by towns. Hope you find something that fits for you. I have a March bday too!!!

    Thanks for a great gear review, Wendy. I've been wanting a hot tent for a while now, too, & the Isola 4 looks like a good choice. Did you go with the aluminum pole option? Seal any of the seams before going out? I've also just watched your most recent vid re this tent, & like your DIY bathtub floor solution. I've been following you for a while now, & you never disappoint. Thanks for the inspiration, & sharing your joy. ❤

    • @wendyoutdoors2230
      @wendyoutdoors2230 День назад

      I went with the standard aluminum pole as I don't plan to carry this tent very far!The tent came totally seam sealed, no leaks even in severe rain so far. It is an easy and quick tent to pitch up. There isn't a perfect tent out there I don't think. Really give thought to how you want it to function and how much time you will need to spend indoors in it. This tent has some limitations for space if more than one person is "living" in it.Two sleep comfortably in it and 2 could be quite comfy" living" in it if the beds were stacked I think but because of the sloping walls the usable space is limited and the chairs need to be low to the ground so your head does not touch the walls. A dome tent would have more space over your head I think and a wall tent would be even better. For me alone this one is fine but I am not a tall person- Basically 5 ft now and shrinking!!!

    • @debbies2295
      @debbies2295 День назад

      @wendyoutdoors2230 thanks for such a detailed reply, Wendy. You are so generous with your knowledge/experience. I am also about 5' tall, and it's just me & my little fur kid, so it would most likely be ok for us. We sleep in the 4Runner, so it would mostly be our hangout in bad - or buggy weather. My stove pipe is only 6' from the top of the stove to top of spark arrester, though, so I'm checking to see if I can add another length of pipe - or, maybe put it on a sturdy, firesafe table with an additional firemat, which I've done before, although not in a hot tent. Thanks again. You are awesome. 😊

    • @wendyoutdoors2230
      @wendyoutdoors2230 День назад

      @ i think you’ll need more pipe for sure. Maybe wait til you receive the tent then measure. My stove is backed against the center pole,really the only place for it so it is the highest point in the tent. You then need a good amount of pipe outside to avoid spark damage. Good luck and enjoy.
