- This concept trailer for a horror film was created entirely using different AI tools and platforms.
The AI tools used to create this were OpenAI's ChatGPT, Midjourney, Adobe Photoshop and Firefly, Runway Gen-2, and Davinci Resolve.
This was created as a concept and a new type of pitch deck or concept. We had an idea for a film we would like to make, along with a vision of the mood and tone. Using these tools has now allowed us to put that idea we have in our heads, out onto the screen, so we can show it visually.

Thank you so much! We had the idea laid out how we wanted, how much to show, and the feel we wanted to try to visualize. Because it’s all still being developed, we wanted to show just enough to get the point across. It’s a movie I’d like to see.

How are you today my friend ?I want to make small cartoon videos but I want to know something please since the video shot is a group of photos , frames Is there a way in Midjourney to give it a photo reference and the action I want to be made and Midjourney makes let's say 30 consistent photos or frames to make the shot, I take the 30 photos and put it in any video editing program and make the scene? etc. etc. thank you.

Wow, it's wild to think this was made with A.I. - and I assume it probably took a human quite some time to stitch it together, but that's impressive. It looks like a movie I'd actually go see. Very cool
@GoTeamScotch thanks! Yeah these tools that have been coming out are incredible. We've been developing this story for a little bit, and I knew I wanted to create a concept trailer or pitch that showed what we were going for. This worked out perfect, and allowed us to visualize our idea. All in, it took less than a week to create.
I knew going in what shots I wanted, enough to get the point across and the feel. So there was some time put in there. I have been using Midjourney for the image creation for awhile now, so I do have a little bit of an advantage there. I haven't had much experience using Runway though, which did the animation, so I figured that part out, but again I knew going in what I wanted out of it. And I knew it's limitations. I've been editing for years now, and that's always my favorite part. Putting it all together and creating something like this, that makes people have this much of a response, is awesome. That's why we're storytellers and filmmakers.

I use dalle and just started using MJ. Now you've got me motivated to use runway. This is great!
I love using each of the platforms for different things. We have another platform where we teach how to use these, so I’m always learning and figuring out how to do cool stuff like this.
DALL-E is great for graphic design and logo work, Midjourney is the best for realism. I’m going to really start digging into Runway to see how far I can push it.
I’ve been told to check out Magnific and Topaz video too. So those’ll be next.

How do you generate the same character? I can’t get midjourney to generate the same face multiple times
I use /prefer remix and push my variations into a direction. So started with that first shot in the woods, and then did remix variations to move the character into a new scene over a few prompts. Doesn’t always work right away with every variation, but it gets there.
That's great! I actually created a trailer for our sci-fi MMA script using the same tools, and it turned out really impressive (a few images were not as real life as we'd like, but it's the nature of AI at the moment). The possibilities with AI, especially MidJourney, are quite amazing. However, I did encounter some challenges when trying to use Runway due to the warping feature. But considering it's still in its early stages, I believe it will only improve over time. I showed the trailer to a producer, and they were completely amazed by the results we achieved. It's really exciting to see how much power we have as writers when employing AI in our creative process.
Man! The animations you got are pretty impressive still. I really want to work on the little things next. I see you got eye blinking for example. Those are the things I think bring life to this stuff. And dialogue. I've been working a little on some simple lip syncing. It's tough right now. But like you said this stuff is advancing so quick right now. But for what we're using this for right now, to show concepts and pitch decks, it's perfect.
@@era-pictures Thanks! I appreciate the watch. I used the Motion Brush a lot to specify what I wanted, and it definitely took 3-5 tries to get it right. Lip syncing is tough. We tried to have them talk, and it looked frightening. We tried incorporating D-ID which works for animating voices, but the mouth movement is too much. It will get there sooner or later, but for us it didn't feel right. Good luck!

Well done! Looks great! Only one piece of constructive criticism I could make is: go back to your logline and make sure your trailer gets across your premise as clearly and effectively as possible.
Thank you so much! That’s the goal now. I’ve gotten myself caught up on things I had to get done, so now it’s fleshing out the log line better and everything else. Switching to story mode.
It's pretty cool, a great visceral sense of tone, mood and setting--but this isn't a pitch deck. From a production standpoint I definitely appreciate the proof of concept trailer but I don't receive any of the other business info a pitch deck carries: logline, brief summary, principal character breakdown, potential actors, creative team and their experience. And if the film is live action, this doesn't exemplify your skills at directing actors, drawing real emotions from people and displaying the character arc of the protagonists, nor does it reveal anything about the quality of the writing and dialogue--this could have been made by some smart and talented visual artists, but I have no idea if they can produce a real film with a decent script and quality performances. It is an effective visual tool for a sizzle reel, but a pitch deck has much more of the business side. Well done, though, very slick.
