I'm so excited to see Togo getting a more widespread recognition. For anyone who may not know Leorhard Sepalla and Togo's team ran the longest and most arduous portion of The 1925 Serum Run to Nome. He is often not the name you'll recognize though because Gunnar Kaasan and Balto ran the last leg and Balto ended up with the most credit. Balto ended up almost instantly with articles, a statue, celebrations and hero status while all the other sled teams (not just Togo's) were somewhat ignored. Leonhard even said back then that he was upset with how he felt Togo wasn't even celebrated at even an equivalent level. There was definitely a lot of resentment towards Balto and Kaasan from the others. Leonhard himself also didn't get widespread recognition from Nome until decades after the run.

@@AlphaQHard being a star wars fan i'm going to agree with you on this one The only good star wars movie Disney made was Rouge one . The recent trilogy isn't just that good compared to the originals and the prequels and yes i just saw Togo yesterday and I have to say Disney has done a remarkable job over here. Hats off.
“Got one more in you, pup?” Their expressions 😭 I am so over the moon to see this, it’s about time. My heart goes out to the spirit of Togo, the spirit of Balto and the spirits of all the dogs who made the journey possible. Togo was twelve years old and his team ran roughly 260 miles, much further than any other team, through insanely brutal weather. The fortitude of sled dogs is so incredibly soul moving.
" Bring him back to me and you come back to me" Togo lived for this! One of the best movies featuring another one of the best dogs happened to be on this earth!
Balto's animated film was my favorite growing up and every time I'd walk into Central Park I'd take a picture with his statue. I had no idea about Togo until this trailer, but I'm glad both these amazing dogs will be recognized and remembered.
Hey Disney, since you decided to remove this movie from your streaming platform where it was the ONLY PLACE TO WATCH IT. What's the point of leaving this trailer up? Just to remind us of a great movie we can no longer watch because you felt it didn't get enough views?
@@FromTrey Sadly, it doesn't look like it. It would be great to be able to have the chance to watch it at some point. Very painful knowing you can't watch it right now, not even on DVD. Do you think there is a way to get Disney to restore the movie to the streamer?
I love huskies and this is one of my main reasons. I love how loyal they are. So loyal that they ran so far to save a little town from certain doom. Togo, Balto, all of them were great. Though Togo was discredited and forgotten up until now and Balto received more attention, they both played key parts in getting the antitoxin to Nome. Togo ran the farthest, 261 miles! Balto didn’t run as far, but he got the medicine there. That was all that mattered back then, getting the antitoxin to Nome. All the teams did it, they all saved lives. So while Balto does get most of the credit, Togo and all the other huskies, including the ones who died, all risked their lives to save humans. Huskies are very loyal and hard working dogs. That is why I will always love them.
To be clear: Togo and Balto were both heroes, but different kinds of heroes. Togo was a pro racer that ran the longest and toughest part of the trip as planned. Balto was a "reject" that never ran a race and was supposed to have one of the easiest paths, but unexpectedly led his team through a blizzard and ran two legs instead of the planned one. Togo was Superman, while Balto was The Little Engine That Could. Togo's accomplisments are more ridiculous and impressive, while Balto is a relatable underdog that clutched it out.
Well said! And let's not forget, that it takes a team of dogs to pull that sled, not just the lead dogs ;-) All men and all dogs who took part in the serum run were true heroes. It was the joint effort that saved the sick people in Nome.
I feel like Disney should make more movies like this instead of making live action movies out of their old ones. Don't get me wrong I love them, but this is by far my favorite movie of all times! I watched Balto all the time when i was a child and loved Balto. To only recently learn the truth about Togo and to find out that Lenard Seppala owned both Togo and Balto. So glad Togo got the respect and honor he deserved ❤
It's likely after Togo is euthanized at the age of 16 after becoming partially blind and suffering from arthritis for the past two years on December 5, 1929.
This is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen. In the end I was literally crying 😭. Seeing the dog’s love and loyalty towards his master. *I’ve never seen that kind of love which Togo showed towards his family. ❤️❤️❤️❤️* That was purely unconditional. And people says we Humans don’t deserve dogs (or other animals ) but I think we actually deserves them we deserve to be loved most by these animals because we sometimes ourselves do not care about our own people and don’t love them like these animals do to us. We should learn from them and should also share that kind of bond with them and every other being. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻.
The bond between Leonhard and Togo was so deep. I read that they crossed the breaking ice at night, through blizzards and very low temperatures and leonhard did that knowing that he could put all his trust on togo who led them through it all. Honestly this makes me bawl even more 😭😭
Best Dialogues from this trailer "He is undersized , He is Trouble , He is untrainable, So what does he bring to the breed ?" THE HEART OF A SURVIVOR "He outran every single of them , He is not a sled dog , He is a LEAD DOG" "I always thought he lived for the sled , when all along what he lived for was ME". Last one had me crying 😭😭😭😭😭
Diesel is the name of the adult dog that plays Togo’s character. He is actually a descendant of Togo.🥰 This is just an amazing movie.💙 I basically cried majority of the time.😭 So moving and beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing this beautiful story.💙🙏🏼💙
Please put it back ! This is one of my favorite movie. 2025 will mark the 100 anniversary of these events! It's a very important part of the alaskan history.
I'm so so SO glad that Togo is finally getting the acknowledgment he deserves!!! He was a true hero, one of the bravest creatures to ever live. Balto was amazing, but Togo was out of the world. I'm going to bawl my eyes out watching this movie, I just know it.
I’m glad Disney + r making theatrical quality movies n I don’t have to go to the theater n spend up to 40 buck or more just chill in the comfort of my home a watch some Disney +
Myron Gainsborough It would’ve got a more widespread recognition if it was released in theaters. I understand this might bring people to opt the streaming service but Togo already didn’t get enough recognition, and more people would’ve got to know the story. I just ‘personally’ think it deserves a theatrical release. End of story
OMG!! Just finished watching this gem of a movie! Still in tears! What an absolutely outstanding and moving story! Loved that gorgeous and heroic dog Togo! I highly recommend this fantastic movie!💙👏🏻😭
When I was little, my favorite movie ever(and kinda still is)was Balto. I grew up on Balto and love and cherish him with all my heart. But lately I’ve also come to love and cherish Togo as well. His story is criminally underrated. They both played an important part in saving Nome. I’m so proud of them and I’m glad that Togo is getting a movie of his own. I will never forget them. Never
It’s not just the mushers or Balto or Togo. Every dog who participated in the 1925 serum run is a hero and they all deserved equal respect and praise. Togo and Balto didn’t run on their own, they ran against the brutal cold alongside other dogs which makes giving all the credit to ONE dog or another a complete nonsense. Not one dog would have made it on their own. They all deserved a full a belly! 🍔🌭🥖🦴🍗🍖
Does 100m olympics give medals to all runners ? no right, only 1 can win even though all others performed outstanding as well, does your company give salary hikes equally to all employees ? no right, even though all employees perform good, , another example, in a School, Grade 1 has X students and all got 80% but one student gets 99% marks, will they be treated equally? even though all performed good, best student is only 1, similarly, Balto and other dogs and mushers performed very well and every one appreciates their efforts very much, we are very much thankful to them, but there is 1 who showed an outstanding performance, he deservers more appreciation than others. No one is giving all credit to one dog.
Maybe you are right, but have you ever imagined a man and his dog over a distance of 264 miles and he does not care at all that his heroic actions are actually very meritorious, he and his lead dog (togo) do not care about what is called a statue, he only thinks of serum and lives. While many people do not know the action, and they only know that Balto was the one who contributed the most, but the reality is not. We respect all the teams participating in the delivery of the serum, but we just learned that there is only one dog that deserves to be made a statue, that is, who has traveled the most impossible distance to tell, and is Togo.
@@memd777 uhh this isint a medal thing it's not a competition it's dogs who risked there lives to save other lives. It's like saying only the lead officers in 911 who what's your life to save other lives needs to be remembered. All the dogs deserve to be remembered
@@lunawolfheart336 when Lead officers of 911 do something great, or even Army wins a War, whole team or whole Army is appreacited but some deserve more appreciatin for their outstanding performance, they are given higher level of medal of honors, let's say a team of soldiers went to killed hitler, all of them risked their life, but the one who killed hitler and most of his army will obviously get better bravery medals and awards than other's in the team although whole team will be appreciated, that is all I am saying. Read my comment carefully, I agree all dogs deserve to be remembered, but one of them has been outstanding, and deserves more than others.
Oh wow I actually remember Togo. Kinda sad how even though Togo did most of the work, Balto got the glory. Glad his story’s getting some attention. But you got to admit that both dogs did a good thing for all those children. They were both very good boys 🥰🐶🐺
This along with Hachiko is one of the best dog films I've ever seen. Both stories are nothing less than absolutely remarkable and what makes them even greater is that both are real.
Journey Balto: 5% Togo: 95% I made a great mistake. Both of these dogs were heroes. Togo: made the longest and most hazardous run. Balto: completing the final run and delivering the medicine to Nome. Balto and Togo: 100%
Balto never ran a race before and lived his life as a "reject," yet he led his team through a blizzard and for 2 legs instead of one. Togo was a pro racing superdog while Balto was a seemingly average laborer. They both exceeded expectations and did something incredible, both were great heroes.
@@buttersbb3328 I just read about Togo, and your description of him is just wrong. He was not a pro racing superdog, saying that just showed you know nothing about Togo. And Balto was average, but he was not a "reject".
@@Thunder_Cheek01 A dog with 7 years of racing experience that managed an insane run at 12 years old? Yeah, he was a superdog. His owner straight up said he was the best he had ever bred. A dog bred by a racing breeder that was deemed a "reject" for racing, so he was neutered and rented out for labor like the other non-racers? Yeah, he was considered a "reject" by his owner. Not sure what you are trying to say.
ButtersBB Togo and Balto are sled dog not a racing one. I know that sled dog are use for racing event today, but not during their time. They were labor animal, uses for transportation. I’m under the impression that you saying Togo is a “superdog” meaning that he was always been like the epitome of sled dog, but he wasn’t, he was actually more the reject than Balto. As pup, Togo was weak and sickly. He was under weight to be a sled dog when mature, and he was showing signs of being a canine delinquent. Seppala actually gave him up because he was unsuited for sledding. So is he above average, the best even? Yes, but super? No Now I say Balto wasn’t a reject because he was sled dog on Kaasen’s team.
Sometimes we forget how amazing these creatures are. It's movies like this that remind us that man's best friend is always there. So we gotta be there too.
I’ve always wanted a husky but know that I can’t take care of one right now. My aunt and uncle had a beautiful husky and kept her tied up in the garage everyday of her life, it broke my heart 😢
I learned about Togo back in 1979 when I got my first Siberian Husky. He was a legend to us and anyone who worked their dogs. I am so glad that someone finally told his story. There are a few 'creative licenses' but all-in-all it gives you a sense of who Leonhard and Togo were. Disney, you did a wonderful job!!
Thank you, Disney, for setting things straight. Finally the TRUE story. Togo was unnecessarily made the bad guy in the Balto cartoon (a story that didn't even have a villain). Togo did all the hard work and Balto went the last couple miles and got all the credit. It's sort of a Ford vs Ferrari situation and Togo is Ken Miles. Nobody knew who either of them were til they got a movie.
Togo isn't in the Balto movie. The villain is an original character named Steele. Also Togo and Balto weren't on the same sled team. Balto was the lead dog of Gunnar Kassen's team and lead the last stretch of the run. Although Balto was one of Seppela's dogs that Gunnar borrowed for the run
It is nice that Togo is getting some of the love instead of only hearing about Balto. Honestly, all the dogs and all the people involved were fantastic, but it is nice to give credit where credit is due. I'm so excited for this movie!
This is one excellent movie. I hope that Disney puts this on Blue Ray and DVD. The story, the acting, the dogs, and the movie make this a film that belongs in your personal collection. It gives Togo the credit that he deserved but did not get.
Togo and balto are heroes each one of them has its own story they will never be forgotten much respect goes to dogs they say they're the humans best friend but they're also a hero a real one

@@coolhand1966 it is very real, the serum run was in 1925 to get medicine for a village that was dying of an illness. A lot of kids had already died to it and the weather was so bad that no plane or anything could get to the village. So then 20 sled teams participated in the 1925 serum run. Sad fact is that 19 teams ran an avarage of 31 miles each. But Togo and his team ran 264miles, taking on the most risk while running. The only reason Balto got so much credit is because his team was the last to run and he arrived to the city with the serum. There's also a statue in New York city of Balto. Togo who risked his life the most basically got no credit at all for saving so many peoples lives. Don't get me wrong Balto did amazing too but Togo deserves more credit than him.

@@GafferSamz Fair enough... I think I'm just the only human being on the planet sort of hating on Disney+, ('cause I have two girls, I'm going to get it!) and it's manifesting in odd places... like a RUclips forums about Disney dogs, sort of.
I, constantly watching videos of Balto, always read comments that say that Togo is the true hero and others who say that Balto is. however, in my opinion, they are both heroes; it doesn't matter who has made the most progress and who the shortest: what matters is that they saved the life of a city that, without their help, would have been lost. so stop saying that the hero is only one of the two dogs: they have both done their part, and therefore both must be considered the heroes of Nome.
It’s not meant to diss the other dogs, Togo was actually a supremely incredible lead dog and was the star of his owner’s heart. He was a natural born leader where the owner had been trying to breed one for years. He was something truly special, if you read about him you’ll understand. I get the feeling his adventures aren’t even fully documented, but we’ll see! The other dogs- all the teams- were heroes, but Togo and his owner were practically legendary. He did the 600 mile stretch through some of the worst weather and terrain where Balto did the last 55 miles, also through a lot of strife, but uh... yeah, the more I learn about what Togo accomplished, the more I understand why people advocate for his honor so fiercely. I think they need to put a statue of him up in Central Park too, right along with Balto (or maybe on opposite sides of the park to create distance).
What I would love is seeing different monuments of the dogs that helped bring the medicine and of course their mushers. Each deserves recognition, no matter how short or long their routes were.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't know that.
Ashley.Ford16 I am so grateful and glad you shared this. Togo and his team will now find recognition and the respect they deserve.
Is togo use here in the movie is a pure breed husky or mix breeed?

“Got one more in you, pup?” Their expressions 😭 I am so over the moon to see this, it’s about time. My heart goes out to the spirit of Togo, the spirit of Balto and the spirits of all the dogs who made the journey possible. Togo was twelve years old and his team ran roughly 260 miles, much further than any other team, through insanely brutal weather. The fortitude of sled dogs is so incredibly soul moving.

They both were real, right?
Hauri Nori yeah man
@@haurinori awww man thanks for appreciating both of them nicely instead of comparing em

No
Now I say Balto wasn’t a reject because he was sled dog on Kaasen’s team.
Sometimes we forget how amazing these creatures are. It's movies like this that remind us that man's best friend is always there. So we gotta be there too.

All those dogs deserve a statue :) How loyal and brave these dogs were and are 😊
I learned about Togo back in 1979 when I got my first Siberian Husky.
So true Togo is the true hero but he was forgotten, and Balto received all the credit because he finished the run.
@@Ultratron563 Thank you for saying that people are being mean to another dog who saved childrens lives thats what matters

Sad fact is that 19 teams ran an avarage of 31 miles each. But Togo and his team ran 264miles, taking on the most risk while running.
I just watched this movie, to be honest it must be one of my favorite ones. The music, the acting and the feels. It is all just perfect
Togo died in the movie?
Rogers yes, but all the way in the end. Like 3 years after the run and after he had children
Oh... Nice, so I can watch the movie 😅😅😅
Yeah, specially that run on ice.
Deym! This dog run his heart out there!
“ I always thought he lived for the sled, but all along what he lived for, was me. “

ASM ikr! Right in the feeeels. 🥺
Some guy “Only one man and one dog can do this”
The other dogs “are we a joke to you?” ; -;
Rofl...other dogs.
This movie should have gone to the cinemas.
