lol im an introvert and i absolutely fear ice breakers in camps. but i still go anyway. i dont really have a choice. if i dont go then i’d hv to make an extra effort to make friends or try to be included when everyone else alr know one another through camp. if i go, i’d be exposed to the ice breakers in camp. but i guess going for ice breakers is slightly better bc at least ure in the same boat as everyone else.

Me too. Im an extreme introvert and i dont like those hehe haha activities. I hope i can survive...

Please do a talk about the difference between taking a gap year and those who are able to head to Uni after graduation!!! Rlly wanna hear ur opinion on how to handle it!!
I'm a freshman and I skipped my camp actually. For my uni, the camp isn't held like right after faculty orientation day. Its held about 2-3 weeks later and by then most people already have their own groups instead of making their first friends in camps. So that even if you skip camp, its not gonna be like its way harder to make friends since you already know your coursemates before they went for the camp :v.
Quite jealous that there's hall guarantees though, I'm from Malaysia and my uni doesn't have that. Because I have to rent a place if I want to stay near the campus, my parents prefer I just drive 2 hours in total back and forth everyday lul. If my class is at 9 I usually wake up around 6.30am and leave at 7.30 in case that there's traffic jam
School camps / Orientation camps are my WORST fucking nightmare. I’m so socially awkward it’s torturous to be in such an environment.

For NUS side, there's plenty of non-camp ways to get to know your seniors too! You can try clubs, societies, visit the open houses to find seniors :)

for those camps that are 5-6 days long, where do the participants stay? do they sleep in halls or they do that sleeping bag thingy o.o
For my 5 day camp, we stayed in a room in an NUS hall, with our sleeping bags. 3 ppl to a room.

I think they mean that they shortlist freshies for camps, because there's a limited number of slots.

It's an NUS programme where NUS (students, faculty) do fundraising (Flag) and then they also have a performance (Rag).

crossing ur arm is actually a gesture that can make people feel u are being uncomfortable or u think u are one level above them. Either of these is not good huh?
but anyw crossing ur arms and crossing your legs have a different meaning, so to reply to ur qn, nope, if I spot them crossing their legs underneath the table, I would not comment anything :)
