Bren you are such an awesome teacher. I can listen to you all day. I’ve been binge watching your videos and I am elated because of the guidance and simplicity that you’ve demonstrated I can actually use my cricut design space. Thank you so much for making these videos.
You made my day! Thank you for letting me know that you are learning to use your Cricut using my videos. It was hard to learn at first, but one thing leads to another, and before you know it, you are using it daily like a pro. Check out my web site www.SmartCuttingMachineFun.com

Newbie Question: I'm using glyphs or PUA encoded fonts but it's not showing up on cricket design space when I paste the character. All the tutorials I've watched seems to be on the older version of design space where you have a text box to type in the words and the font will show up next to it. The version i have doesnt have the small text box but instead you type directly into the text area which will show the font. When i paste the character, the glyph will show up as a box. Does anyone know to how to fix this?
Glyphs are really strange. In my tutorial I show how to find them and copy them, but that doesn't always work. It's very frustrating! What I try to do is download fonts from Dafont that have the glyphs I want to use. That can be time consuming as well. Don't give up. Also, try Creative Fabrica. Many times they have free fonts with great glyphs. Here is my link....www.creativefabrica.com/ref/234580/ I hope this helps. If not, let me know. Hi I’m having the same issue but only with hearts! Use CTL C CTL V most of my glyphs work except ones with images and I can’t figure it out I bought them from creative Fabrica
As much as Glyphs seem like they would be great, they aren't. They simply don't always work. What I find works best is finding a font that has glyphs included in the font package. They are MUCH more reliable. So when you find a font you like in Dafont ( my favorite place to find free fonts) click on the name and it opens up to show you all the characters included in that font. I try to make note of what fonts have the glyphs I like to use so I wont forget. I hope that helps.....Bren
Thank you for the great video! I use many fonts from DaFont, but I can't get the pen to write anything but an outline. I even tried with the I Like Glitter font. The style drop down box only has "regular" as a choice. Do you know what I am doing wrong?
You need to choose a font that is for "writing", otherwise all the fonts will have an outline. This is a very frustrating thing. I am so sorry.....Bren
Thank you! I tried sorting by writing and nothing came up so I chose a font that looked like writing. It was interior watch the Cricut do the top half of the cursive then the bottom half with some overlap of letter parts. It was OK for my labels but I wouldn’t want to use it on a card or project.
@@margaretcofield3267 ...it isn't easy and I have no idea why they make this so hard. You need to look for a font that is all one line, not an outline. The best way to do this is download what you think is a good one, then go to Cricut after you refreshed it and choose that font and write some text on the screen. Then go to the tool bar and under Style, choose writing. This will show you how it will cut....hopefully.
I like this clip. I followed all instructions, but not able to copy and paste the character in my design space, maybe first I have to purchase the font (I love glitter). Please advise. Thx.
HELLO, THE FONTS CHARACTER MAP UWP DON'T HAVE TGE FONTS YOU ARE SHOWING. I CAN'T FIND IT AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT TO GET IT TO DESIGN SPACE. CTRL V FONTS NOT COMING THRU. I'M TOTALLY LOST. HELP.
It will only show the fonts you have downloaded on your device. I work on a desk top computer and I download all my fonts free from Dafont.com. Its fun to find new fonts. Just remember, when you add new fonts you will need to refresh Cricut Design Space. Have fun!
Thank you for the video. I would have been crying if you hadn't proved it. No one has proved that Cricut's font Box does not match the font name either. Thank you again. I have a question. If I can download many fonts in Character map fonts. Is it possible to download exactly the fonts I want to use in Cricut at the same time? Or should I search for fonts used in Character fonts with Da fonts and download fonts? I hope you can understand my question. thank you again
I am glad my video helped you with the special characters. As far as finding new special characters, I find all my fonts at Dafont because they are free and easy to download. If you open each font in Dafont, scroll down and it shows all the characters. That is how I find my special characters. Then download it to your computer or tablet, refresh Cricut and the new font should show up in the font line up in Cricut. Let me know if you need help with any of that......Bren
You will need to download it first. I get that at Dafont. After that you will need to refresh your CDS app. I hope that helps, if not, reach out again. Bren
Thank you for this video. I just learned how to do glyphs and i was annoyed with the little box. The character map uwp is a lifesaver!
I am so happy you found it helpful. They don't always work, but its good to know where to find them and how to use them.

Wowza, thanks!!!
Hi Bren, I tried to download and I can find the font, but it won't seem to paste in any of the files, any idea why?
I am so sorry it took so long to answer. Sorry to say, but this feature is "iffy" at best. Some work easy and some don't. I hate this answer. Sorry.
Omg!!! I can’t paste it to Cricut!!! Aaaahhhh…. I don’t know what happens when I click copy and the to paste what appears is a rectangle

I don't get an option that says "copy character only", just an option to copy, and it doesn't work. Anyone know what the problem might be?

I think I Love Glitter is free on Dafont . com.

How do I get it on a Mac?
A Mac has one already inside the machine. I don't know what it is called, but it does the same thing that this Character Map does. I hope that helps.
try this.....www.geekguides.co.uk/6/how-to-display-a-mac-os-character-map/
It won’t allow me to paste….do you know why? Whether I click or control V…..
Its very finicky. It does that to me sometimes too. Its very frustrating. Keep trying or find something else, that's what I do. Sorry.
I don’t see I love glitter
