THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. Spent probably 5 hours total trying to figure this glyph stuff out and finally got it because of this video! THANK YOU AGAIN!!!
Holy cow. First of all, thanks for even showing me I have a place for all my fonts. Love Creative Fabrica. And FINALLY, I now know how to add the tail things! Thank you!!!
I had no idea and could not understand why some of the fonts I downloaded didn't look like the pictures. Then I did some research and found out about glyphs but I could not figure out how to see them in Canva. I watched several other videos and YOURS is the only one which explained it correctly and clearly. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!
Im using a PC and did the steps you have detailed above. I was going crazy why I dont find the glyphs in the character set. I tried putting the ttf instead of the otf and there's where I found the glyphs that you were talking about. I just wanted to share in case other had the same experience.
This was so helpful. I was thinking I'd have to buy a different font cause the default letters look off so this helped a ton. I just wish Canva would have this built-in like other design tools, which would make it much easier.
Woah. Mind=Blown!! 🤩 Absolutely awesome video! Learnt so much in just 8 minutes! Was wondering about this for a long time and now I know!! Thank You !! You Rock!
Oh my gosh I was getting so discouraged scrolling to find the glyph font! Then I looked back at your video and were pretty far down to the bottom. Found it!! Don't give up scrolling!
my letters are not giving the glyph tail to them in the character map. The only difference I can sort of see is that when I hover over the small letter L a bubble pops up that says "U+006C: Latin Small Letter. Because your character map in the video is small I cannot read what your hovered message reads to know if this is my problem. How can I get the glyph to show up. I tried a different font and doesn't add the glyph either.
I went and downloaded the same exact font you did, and when I went into character map i cannot find that glyph, they all look the same as the regular ones i can type. help :(
You can download this different character map app on your computer, and it makes it SO EASY to find the glyphs. Check it out here: apps.microsoft.com/store/detail/character-map-uwp/9WZDNCRDXF41?hl=en-us&gl=us
Are you using Canva Pro and have the font uploaded to your brand kit and onto your computer? I just made sure that my tutorial still works in Canva and it does. I am using a PC as well, if you are using a Mac, it may behave differently for you.
I believe it is easier to access this info on a mac. Here is an article on this topic: www.macworld.com/article/232439/how-to-find-and-insert-special-characters-in-macos.html
I see this seems to work for everyone but the type I'm using keeps giving me the ? symbol! I'm on Pro subscription. Any additional tips to figure this out? Thanks!!
@@YourFrugalFriend ok just figured out what's happening. It's a matter of how the glyphs were coded. The only glyphs I can successfully copy paste are the ones with a unicode call out on font book. What a bummer!
I don't get why Canva doesn't add the option to open them in the app. If you have multiply different fonts you have to go back and forth between finder and Canva right?
Yes you will have to go between the finder and Canva. Canva is making tons of updated lately. I have high hopes that this is a feature they add in the not so distant future!
If you’re having trouble uploading fonts to Canva, it’s likely because the file format is not supported. Canva supports .ttf, .otf, and .woff font file formats. Make sure your font file is in one of these formats before trying to upload it to Canva. Did you unzip the file before uploading? This is a common error as well.
Hi there. I followed these directions, but my glyph keeps popping up as a question mark. I am using the otf file in canva. Any idea why this keeps happening? I am using a macbook.
Hi! It seems that Mac and ipad users can't get glyphs to work on their system. You may need to find another tutorial for this as your system is different than mine. I am on a PC. :)
How do I give 1,000 likes? This is the most helpful tutorial on RUclips for using font glyphs with Canva. THANK YOU!

Thank you, I now know how to use the swashes and I didn't know about that character map in Windows, this is great information.
Glad I could help!
Thank you for making this tutorial! The one I initially started watching was completely different for Mac so I was very lost.

THANK YOU! I have wanted to know how to do this for so long! ♥
Thank you! I needed to add a small e with a grave. Very helpful!
That was awesome! Thank you!
Thank you so much...this had me stumped in adding gyphs
O man, thank you!!! So straight forward! Gonna do that right now!
You are my literal hero. Thank you SO much.
This was extremely helpful! Thank you :)
This exactly what i was looking for, thank you!
Thanks, this is very timely! :)
Wow bravo. I learned a lot today. Thank you so much
Thank you so much. Creative site doesn't give instructions. I was a hard time trying to figure this out.

Did you download the alternative character map that I provided a link to in the video description?
Thank you, very clearly explained!
Glad you liked it

Thank you - this was so helpful!
So helpful. Thank you so much for this tutorial!
Very very helpful!! Thank you :)
Brilliant, thank you! ❤
Thanks so much!
This was very helpful, but where do I find the character map?
In the video description there is a link to download the character map app for your computer system. :)

@@YourFrugalFriend This option worked perfectly for me, thanks
@@YourFrugalFriend thanks for the tip!!
@Mindy-xu2wj you will need to reach out to the support team for the app to get further help. :)
when I paste it it just changes it back to the regular font not the one with the tail

Hi there - did you ever figure this out? It's doing the same thing for me.
Thank You!
Can you only up load one font at a time in that creator spot you mentioned .
In the Brand Kit of Canva? No! I bulk load fonts all the time.
How do you find the character map on a Mac? Is that an app that has to be downloaded to use?

Did you upload the font into the brand kit?
@@YourFrugalFriend Hey! Yes, I did. Tried uploading both the .otf & the .woff files out of pure paranoia and neither of them seems to do the trick.

No it would not be possible.

That didn't work for some reason. It didn't give me a glyph. It's like there's a step missing.
