This is a once-in-a-generation song. Very few bands could even attempt something like this, let alone pull it off.
A musical manifesto. A masterpiece. The ultimate protest song.
You've just stumbled upon the realest lyricist in rock and roll, the best musicianship in punk rock and a lifelong journey! NOFX pull no punches, fight for the people and have kept it 100 for 36 years! New subscriber
I really don't wanna talk NOFX down - not at all! But the best musicianship in Punk Rock? That's a hot take...
No fucking way, this man is actually reacting to the decline...... Good Shit!
Hells yea!!!!! And what a day to do this one. Love it
Has ANYONE ever reacted to this? I don't think so. I've been waiting. 😉
@@ashlealabine6937 two others have that I know of.
So hyped right now!
I couldn't believe it. I was watching an 18 minute Grateful Dead reaction and he said "Well I can spare 18 minutes for Grateful Dead, I just gave 18 minutes to NOFX" and I almost shit myself haha I came straight here.
Oh hell yeah. This is one of my all time favorite songs.
You need to watch The Decline live at Red Rocks with an orchestra , its great.
Yes! It made me cry. Its very moving for me, because this song has been such a big part of my adult life. I was a teen when it came out, and have been listening ever since! It's always been a favorite. How can it be topped? There is no "better," only different.
Yes yes yes
Seconded. I just saw it for the first time today after loving this song for 10 years plus and wow
Mike in a dress, the whole band killing it, and then an entire orchestra behind them to back them up. It was amazing. I still can't believe it happened.
WTF??? Never thought I would see anyone react to one of the greatest songs of all time and yet here I am. Thank you!
Its a story not a song :p ok a story in song form.
No way you did NOFX, specially The Decline. wow, so much wow! I subscribed because of this! thank you! more punk rock please!!
This is one of my favourite songs of all time. According to its writer, it took him 6 months to write it. 6 months well spent.
"The Decline" might be the greatest punk rock song ever written. Never gets old, always fun, and the lyrics get more poignant each year. NOFX is a criminally overlooked/under-appreciated band.
I guess ypu can also add the fact that it works in an international manner too.
Everything in the decline is happening to my place now.
Greatest American Song.
I mean theyre probably the most influential punk rock bands of all time. Maybe not commercially known But that’s more by design than anything.
Oh crap THIS song! I saw an ad for it in 1999 and thought it was a new album. Then I put it in CD player and was like uh... why is it still on track 1 at 7 minutes in
Your rolling is immaculate, I was legitimately impressed.
The Decline is a great song, NOFX is awesome.
This was basically a 5 song EP turned into a single song. It's one of NOFX's best. I'm also a fan of their Punk in Drublic album.
It’s peak NOFX indeed!
It was the whole album!
There's different parts but they all fit together as one song. To me, the Decline is very similar to 2112.
Yes!! My favorite band!!
You can do Generation Z, Church ans Skate or Dinosaure will Die,all awsome !! Keep up the good work thanks.
I heard they suck live
Mine too.
It always makes me so happy to see someone who hasn’t heard the decline listen to it. Cheers buddy! This band is awesome. Check out their tv show backstage passport. It’s on RUclips free and hysterical
Hi.. I, m hearing Punk Rock since 1981...I saw a US Band here in a small Club (north Germany).. Great, "war on women" 🎸.. Try some stuff from germ.
:"Slime-lieben müssen" (must love..)../."die toten Hosen-mehr davon, live, Hals und Beinbruch" (See what the singer did😮... Song about drug adiction)... Enjoy
Yo crazy. Every few months I check to see if anyone has done a nofx reaction. Just randomly decided to check again after several months to see you uploaded only 7 hours ago. Rock on 🤘
Lol that’s funny you mention it sounded like a tool song. Another reaction channel said the same thing about that bass line. Thing is, this song came out before the tool song that kinda sounds like it.
WHOA! I am so happy you’re watching this!!! This is amazing!
Punk In Drublic
Hey dude, thanks for reacting to punk again! I'll definitely be keeping up with your channel.
One of the better reaction videos I've seen, best song of all time.
I didn't like NOFX much but now I do. This is really good
You were surprised by the horns... you should listen to more Nofx(or Against All Authority or Voodoo Glow Skulls - definitely Voodoo Glow Skulls!!)
Old Link 80. Still great, but 17 reasons was my shit when I was a young kid.
THIS is my favorite punk song of all time ever and is the best punk song ever written ever! If this song never ended I would gladly still be listening to it decades after discovering it when it was first released.
Perfect song for today! I had this as my Instagram song of the day! Crazy
The kind of song that changes you
I remember when this song came out. If felt so relevant. It's amazing that all these years later it's become even more accurate and relevant to present day.I think, for me at least, this is what makes this song so powerful.
I've requested this from several other channels because I know they'll like it, but I think the 18 mins puts them off. Glad you got to enjoy it.
They did do a live version with the Baz's Orchestra at Red Rocks.
I love how we grinding up weed at the same exact time haha keep covering punk rock man, I’m rockin with ya!
hefe's solos are the best
My reaction to seeing a reaction to this song...
[Cracks knuckles] [grab two beers] "This will be fun..... Play" (in my head)
That is El Hefe the guitar player playing the trumpet.
If you enjoyed this I recommend Propagandhi. Anti manifesto would be a good entry level song
YES!!! Got me thinking if I'd suggest Anti Manifesto or Nation States, which led to thinking of more tracks... and then the _obvious_ conclusion 🤔:
Ditching the question entirely so I can go listen to *both those albums RIGHT NOW* 🏃
I'm so glad you liked the song! I knew you would! I gave you a short intro to punk. See how different each band is from one another? But there is a TON more different styles and sounds. Wait until I introduce you to Gogol Bordello! Wow! Or Pansy Division lol. Haha just wait. Of course, I like LOTS of different types of music. I like all the BEST music. 😊 NOFX is killer. They have been around since the late 80s. They are one of a kind. Thanks for the awesome reaction. You made my night. Listened to it on drive home from work.
Gogol Bordello are awesome.
Respects for listening through the whole song
Thats the guitarist el hefe playing trombone, he can play trumpet too. The dude is so good. Check out the separation of church and skate by them. You want another long song to do do "year of the pig" by Fucked Up. One of my favorite songs of all time. The Decline is up there too
Dude, your vibes during this are 100% the same ones I had the 1st time I heard it. Growing up learning guitar I had these tabs taped across 2 walls of my room. Shouts to my Dad's old school Fender 100 watt tube amp that would shock you if you plugged it in upside down. 😂
Really good job bro, thanks for react to this Masterpiece. Honestly, for me this is the best punk music in history, they speak absolutely all the truth about SOCIETY, and even in 2024 this song is perfectly relatable... we still going in decline, and maybe will still going by 2050 or 2100... who knows.... the hope is nearly over, hope people woke and change this machine called society
I couldn't belive when he said mj and lebron on same team, perfect apology. My favorite band
Wow. Love NOFX, this track is so good. Do Liza and Louise.
I’m not sure my man is ready for Louise or please play this song on the radio
@@rabbyte3824 that is true. Boogley eyes maybe?
This is their masterpiece.
The band would for sure be happy if they saw this. Fat Mike(vocalist) spent 6 months writing this song.
This song is a master piece!
They released a live version of this song last year with an orchestra
I'm impressed! The mic didn't pick up the grinder at all!
The Decline is the greatest song ever written imo, it's just so scarily accurate to everything wrong with this country. If you haven't seen it yet, you should watch the orchestra version with Baz cause it's so incredible!
I reacted to this song in 1999 listening to it on my discman :D
Check out some SNFU, a great Canadian punk band, a few song suggestions would be "Big Thumbs" "Fate" "Painful Reminder" "Strangely Strange" "Drunk on a Bike" "Cannibal Cafe" "Cockatoo Quill"
OMG so many Canadian bands... Dayglow Abortions! Forgotten Rebels! Leather Uppers! Bourbon Tabernacle Choir, Hawksley Workman, Shadowy Men... way too many to list and I'm half asleep.
Propagandhi!
@@baronesselsavonfreytag-lor1134 Yes, indeed! Tons of great Canadian bands
@@CanadianPunker62 Too many! I was lucky to have grown up on Canadian radio.
One of my fav songs by my one of my favorite bands. Got to see them in LA the first time they ever played this song live 👐 awesome performance
lemme just put on my favorite 18min song real quick
Awesome song. Got to hear NOFX play it live once
I remember picking this up when it came out. Was a NoFx fan since the mid-90's, so after I bought it and stuck it in my CD player, I was very confused after realizing there was only one song on it lol. Still, it's a great song. I think their reasoning behind making The Decline, was that they made a ton of short songs, so they decided to make one long song.
No it was that they wanted to create a masterpiece! Not just the perfect song or album but a legit masterpiece.
Thank you
My favorite song ever
Gotta subscribe when you react to this. Good shit my dude!
Appreciate you!
Recorded over 25 years ago, and it's really the musical version of everything Georg Carlin was always talking about. And all still relevant today ....and the trumpet was one of the guitar players.. 18 minutes it was almost as long as one of their albums
These guys are cooky! Appreciate you!
I very much enjoyed experiencing this tune with you for your first time. Be sure to check out a video of them playing it live, they play it damn near perfect.
Best reaction channel out there rn. Hitting all the favs
One more joint to kill the pain!
You just got 100k new white subscribers 😅. I love this band and now I love you too.
Great reaction to a legendary song!
That fucking ending makes me cry...
This song is all about today. Love NOFX
Found this vid. Saw the same Let It Be poster I've had for most of my life. I click like instantly
Good job, man! One of my faves from them is Vincent. Has actually brought me to tears
Me. Too
The red rock
one !
So much respect to you for doing this song
Great reaction mate, that band rules after all this years!
Yes
Check out nofx radio its a cover of radio by rancid but they turned it into their own with a reggae sound
1 album. 1 song.
Wipers - Youth of America was an epic song that proved punk tunes didn't have to be short.
Never see people recommending Wipers but they have a great catalogue. To add onto that, poison idea's cover of Up Front to close out their "last show"
@@konsolidated 👌
This is the best reaction Chanel
Yooo I'm so happy to see a nofx reaction. and the decline at that. definitely got to roll one up, rock n roll smoke a bowl
Awesome to see this, keep up the great work.
I don’t know who u are Teez, but this made my night, this is the best rock song of all time 🤘Every lyric...written in 1999 no less. Feel the under appreciated art of punk rock 😏
New album Feb 26 most active band in the punk scene from label to there music
Also a second album in november. Fat mike said in a interview
@@nebpenney8010 yep I already pre-order the single album vinyl. So excited 😍
I'm so glad other people love this song
Great song
homie rolled a joint and didint blazz it, and was not listening to the song,,,,,,,,,,,,wow,,,,like ammm,,,,wow
More NOFX please 😷
New to the channel. You should do one on Radiohead’s Ok Computer
I am still listening to the preceding advert but already, thank you for doing this. Let's see if you like it!
Appreciate the love and support fam!
@@TeezMcGee thanks for the content. I love people reacting to things I've loved for 20+ years. Especially when they enjoy them!
18.5mins of faith
10:30 Yeah, I thought it sounded like Tool - Schism as well. you got a good ear on you.
Good looking out reacting to punk! Subbed.
Stumbled on this, i enjoyed it alot. You should do aesop rock "mars attacks" if you havent yet. Its epic.
Skatepunk>>>>>
Amazing :-D
Dont take this the wrong way as i hate these "labels" (not record labels) i honestly just dont know any better words to describe this... Its dope seeing "black" creators reacting to what is generally considered to be "white" music. You see lots of White people bumping hiphop r&b and shit all the time but very rarely so you see the black community rocking out to punk and the stereotypical "skinhead" type music.
*EDIT i see that sharpstone mate... im bustin with you... same grinder but purple!*
*EDIT EDIT: you just earned a sub with that cannon lol*
There a great version of this with a full orchestra.
Glass War Nofx
Nofx is fucking legion
Bro!!!!! You’re tuning into punk!
Yes! Fucking subscribed!!!
Let’s go!
@@TeezMcGee serious though. Punk is a rarely tapped genera with real raw power. Ramones, Dead Milkmen, Misfits, Bad Religion...
Great reaction video. Please know that this came out before the TOOL song that sounds like it. Also, you should watch the video of them doing this song live with an orchestra at red rocks. It’s also on the RUclips’s
Appreciate you fam!
Thumbs up for the balls to react to this long masterpiece. And a good decision to roll your spliff during listening and not before. So you could listen for a second time while smoking. ;)
Now react to NOFX-Generation Z. Much shorter, but perfect Lyric-Music-Combination. ;)
you are my fucking man.
He is doing it the wrong way around. You smoke BEFORE listening to this.
non conformist here...just saying it gets better
We don't care you smoke weed. Roll your blunt before the video and focus on the lyrics =\
dude spent half the song not paying attention to the song...
Shit their video
