Awsome! One of a Kind! I wish I had his mind and talent- Very clear minded and spiritual! I hear he's a great Dad and friend of many too! Thanks for posting!
Many viewers don't understand that this drummer is playing not just the rhythm, but the melody as well... LIVE... with the electronic pads and triggers... the bass-line triggered by his foot-kick to the bass drum... occasional left-foot clave. He's amazing without all the triggers and samples! Akira Jimbo is the true multitasking musician-octopus on the drumset!
ooooooooooh my god,I"have been a fan since when I" bought his first dvd at guitar center...to be honest I" didn't pay for it just through it the bag with the rest of the stuff lol.............and gave security a nice tip!!!!!!!!! at the door,,,,,,,real talk uhh,
Lol,Looks like its sped up at some points. Simply amazing. Seriously, looking at these videos only makes me wanna quit drumming. Looks like I desacrate the drumset.
What do you mean, "get discouraged!", let this cat inspire you! To get mre profecient on rudiments. On practicing on things you think you can't do. The more proficient you become, the more freedom you have in "your" style of playing and composing. Practice till you vomit. Practice till you faint, and your muscle fibers keep playing on PURE memory alone. Only then can you enjoy what pro drummers know; how to realize "your" true style.
absolutely sick! very entertaining. amazing technical ability, but what's pissing me off is that he looks like he's out for a walk in the park. i don't think his vertebrea moved at all!!! (wow, i'm proud that i spelled that word right. i looked it up! now... if only my drumming was that good!). err, ugh, yeah.
I hear ya... I feel the same way. BUT, Akira seems like the kind of guy that would want to help you get to his level. Unfortunately, that's kinda like trying to play basketball like Michael Jordan
