    The only real «trick» of that band, is that they are really dark and they have done a lot of reading when it comes to pessimistic/nihilistic philosophy (Spengler, Zapffe) .

    The first example can be played as a "spider chord" technique if the tuning is standard. Makes it a very convenient position a lot of times.

    Could also be a cocksparrer trick, those songs are so catchy because they stay on each power chord for like 666 strums and then when the chord finally changes its like O DAMN 🫡

    What turns a regular chord into a 7 chord? 9’s too, if that’s a thing.. btw, I found a really cool song it’s called Devadevam by Rotting Christ.

      @@gold3npimp yeah. there's two types - minor (flat7) or major 7th. Minor7s are what we call the note that's 10 frets up from the root note and Maj7s are 11 frets up

      @@danielvibez4000 he's not wrong. Worship music is not all that focused on the technicalities of the song it exists to bring believers together to worship the Lord. Black metal similarly does not focus on technical abilities or extreme prog elements usually, it exists for the artist to display his will and what not.

    Absolutely ridiculous to call those chords "the Mgla trick". It's literally one of the most used ideas in any kind of rock or metal. You could just as well call it the Ramones trick, Motörhead trick, the Maiden trick, the Danzig trick. Have you ever listened to another genre than black metal?

      Agree, they are so post rock feelings and so "slavic melodrama" kinda....and im not a die hard, one dimensional old schooler....i like so much modern scene too... there are many new bands which are for sure black metal...such for example are Deathspell Omega, Ascension, Nightbringer etc etc...but for sure NOT Mgla, Batushka or even worst like Alcest or Elderwind...although i dont know their area of music may they are good in what they do but just it cant be called black metal.
