What's super frustrating about this is Chicago is such a music town and other festivals have like Pitchfork and Lollapalooza have no problem working with the Park District in getting these done in the city. Riot Fest for booted from Humboldt and now Douglass to Bridgeview with just 3 months notice? For shame.

This would be great if it were actually in Chicago

Riotfest gets kicked out of Humboldt Park, and now based on the statement from the Parks department, they ran away from Douglas Park rather than address the community's concerns. The common denominator is the Riotfest team, and the fans got screwed because of it. No one wants to find to the burbs to see their favorite counter culture band.

Wrong, the park district were playing hard to get and kept trying to squeeze more cash from riot fest, continuously giving the run around. They still hadn’t accepted the forms riot had submitted for the park, they were supposedly going to vote on it today. This is the park district and the neighbors crying for more cash. End of story

I sure as hell do, as do all out of towners. Chicago is a nightmare to deal with.

@@defendska2158 Douglas Park specifically was, and that's my point. It went from an OK location, to a worse location, to the worst location. It's all backslide based on poor management.

Cool. You guys did a great job of sucking this guy off by the way. Everybody knows this move sucks and it was almost sickening watching you guys try your hardest to help him spin it into something positive. All of that “extra” stuff in the “town” you’re so excited about is window dressing that no one ever actually cares about come fest time. The fact is they’re going from a beautiful and spacious city park with trees to an ugly parking lot in the burbs. Try and spin it however you want but that’s what it is. And the fact that Douglass Park was granting the permit and ready to host again makes this even worse. Riot Fest sold out the people of Chicago.
