"So far outside the City". Chicago ends at 65th Street and Harlem Ave. Which is a whole mile from the new location of Riot Fest.
NOFX on that KISS retirement plan😅😅😂
For my peoples with trouble getting to the venue, if ur already in Chicago, take the cta orange line to midway, from there take bus route 386 via pace straight to the arena. If ur not in Chicago either take the heritage court/rock island metra to the city. Once ur at lasalle st take the orange line to midway and same thing. I’m hearing word that shuttle buses might be picking people up at midway but nothings been confirmed yet
It will be my first riot fest. I’ll be watching from above the water tower across the street. 😊 Free show!
I’ll get tickets when I know who will play when
So being someone from the suburbs having riot fest where it’s at this year is definitely a double edged sword. It’s much closer to home now so that’s cool, but the public transportation situation sucks ass, and the parking situation is ridiculous. Knowing that seatgeek stadium has done Chicago open air and summer smash makes me a bit hopeful. But our poor knees are gonna feel like shit standing on that concrete all day
It says on the website that there will be artificial turf at all the stage areas so that's something at least
As a huge saddle creek fan (and new Omaha citizen) love seeing bright eyes and Cursive on the same bill
really hope Sum 41 does an after show. but now i’m also wondering how they’ll be handling after shows this year considering it would take forever to get from the Fest to a venue in the city, whether you drove or took public transit
eta: left this comment before I finished the video 😅 but yeah, agree on your points
They're so sick live, a concord after show would be sweet.
@@alexpaez5924 that’s where I caught them last time they played an after show for Riot Fest. such a great show, and so happy Deryck is doing so much better
Looking to after shows for easier access
Good to see Zheani on that list.
They could be saving that good good line up for next year cause it will be the 20th anniversary of the fest
Ohhhh maybe a big surprise too. Operation Ivy???
Fall out boy is always fun
Trying to figure out transportation because I take a train in from Detroit and use the CTA.
Get into Chicago and take the orange line to midway, from there I’m hearing there are gonna be shuttle buses going back and forth, but obviously take that with a grain of salt until riot Mike says so himself. Otherwise get to midway and order an Uber, there’s usually a fuck ton in the area because of the airport traffic. 3rd option once again get to midway and take the pace bus and route 386 takes you right there!!!
How long are the sets usually for non headlining bands?
30-45 mins
I bought my ticket, booked my hotel and flight in February. I’m coming from Cleveland, so it’s not a huge hassle, but I take CTA when I go. Last year was the first time I went and it was cool going to the museums and such during the day then heading over around 3. I’m cheap and old so I got the regular GA with no re-entry, and I wasn’t going to spend 12 hours in the park. This move seems like much more of a hassle and the lineup isn’t worth it. Also, the way they handled the change was a big turnoff. There could’ve been a lot more transparency on their end. I worked at a music venue for almost 20 years so I understand stuff changes, but this feels off. I’m lucky. Since they’re offering refunds, the entire trip is refundable for me. I can’t imagine spending hundreds and have to deal with such a drastic change and be locked in. I’ve already been to Chicago twice this year, so going the refund route was kind of a no brainer. But with I think will be a lack of after shows, I think I’m scrapping the whole trip and coming back in November for Interpol.
TBF to the fest organizers it seems like they were fighting the chicago park district to be able to stay in the city for as long as they could. I think the reason they waited so long to announce the move was because they didn't want to move and only did so when they realized they had no other options. Don't blame Riotfest, blame the Chicago park district
Do you just not like metal? Because uhhhhh Slayer, Lamb Of God, Polaris, Mastodon, Poison The Well, Clutch, Suicidal Tendencies are fantastic to see
Polaris? Aren't they the band from the Adventures Of Pete And Pete?
@@jacobprice8048 I’m talking about the Australian metalcore band of the same name
I wonder if CM Punk will be there???
Maybe I’m basic but I’d see loveless
Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, State Champs, New Found Glory and Hot Mulligan are the only draws for me. Huge letdown this year.
i mean just in the pop punk youre missing some big ones, offspring im so hype for basement, nofx descendents taking back sunday
@@tacomurder5751 I would be hyped for taking back sunday but I've seen them 4 times now and they are never good live. Love the albums though.
