    Hi Nurse Germz. I am from NJ. I just started training for dialysis in a a clinic. It’s so hard. I learned the dialysis machine on Monday. By Friday I had the machine lines perfectly set up. It’s very hard, but it’s repetitive and you establish relationships with the patients. I am training and am taking my Nclex in next two months. I am so nervous! So many Philippino nurses and PCT’s.. lol I love them :-) I am looking forward to working 3 days a week but not 15 hour days. Ugh. It’ll be hard. Thankyou got your video and I appreciate your thoughts n advice. Keep sharing! I hope there is room for growth eventually ;-) God bless you!

    3 codes in 8 hours is too much, patient safety is always the priority, that is why you need to monitor patient everytime to prevent codes from happening.

    • @Nursegermz
      @Nursegermz  4 месяца назад

      Yup you’re right if pt is in ongoing dialysis, we return blood immediately once BP drops or bradycardic but if tx hasn’t even started yet, that’s something beyond our control. Wanna know about the patients?
      One from the ER, They knew it’s coming, dialysis has not started yet. They’re good at tricks. Imagine wheeling the pt themselves like a grocery cart and just left. Endorsement was even stable via phone. After that, tx cancelled but will continue after pt was admitted and stabilized, transported back later that day, same scenario. Still, no dialysis happened. (2 codes from same pt)
      The other one from the ICU that is more independent, we didn’t even know someone was in a code. It was the surgeon who initiated it while the ICUs are setting up the pt, still before dialysis. You can tell that transport is mainly the reason that triggered it.

      Before I enrolled in a hemodialysis training, I’ve worked in most hospital departments the reason why I ended up liking dialysis. So, as a fresh graduate, it’s always good to start with bedside and find what you really want. But if you really want to specialize in dialysis, enroll in a hemodialysis training to have a good grasp of the field.
