- In this video jeweller and diamond setter Niels van Dooren setting commissioned pastel coloured diamonds in a yellow gold wedding band. The diamonds are ranging from lavender pink to olive green and from champagne/brownish to vivid yellow. The colours make this a very unique micro pave ring.
The diamonds each weigh approximate 0.02 ct and have a diameter of 1.65 - 1.70 mm. By creating seats with a carbide round bur you can see the distance from another. Afterwards a bright cut is created with a 60 degree carbide graver which was high polished. Furthermore tiny prongs are created by removing excess metal with a flat graver into the seat. Then, gently the diamonds are put in place into the ,relatively soft, yellow gold. With a tiny prong pusher the golden prongs are bent over the diamonds thereby holding tightly two pastel coloured diamonds at the same time.
The ring was later polished with high gloss diamond polish.
All in all this was a beautiful ring to work on.

Alvast bedankt!
Hi Andijvie,
Mail me even op: info@vandoorendiamonds.com dan kom ik wat uitgebreider terug op je vraag.
The diamonds are hold only on each side 2 by 2 ? Thanks

Hello, im brazilian, please, this gold is 18k, or other? Thanks!
Hi Augusto, this is 14kt gold. Almost all in northern europe is 14kt
Why are the stones so close together. The eye does not see this, but you complicate the work for yourself.
Hi, lets agree to disagree. I believe that the closer the stones are together the more they will reflect each-others brilliance ;-)
Where is a good place to buy diamonds 💎 thank you and amazing video keep the amazing work 🙌

Who is the artist of the piano music?
Hi Allen, I don't recall but if you shazam the song I'm pretty sure it's one from RUclips's audio library.
