I watched this alone in my bedroom, when the credits were rolling I was speechless and quiet. Unable to speak. Then I sobbed really hard. Because it took me back to my childhood because I was a victim of sexual abuse too. As much as it depressed me, I love this damn film because I was able to feel again. For years I was so damn numb like Neil was and this movie opened me up and I was able to feel again. The music is so beautiful.
I think this movie is not afraid of being dark and it intentional either way .. he’s not into into youths he’s shown his interests thou out the film and that’s not his path …and I think it is his respect for he knows it isn’t right what happened to him but all the interactions are intentionally weird..him and his friends /mom his boundaries are low . There to make you think about ..all outcomes , I forgot how good this movie is I just was scarred from it
4:40 anyone else notice the weird relationship Neil and his mom have? The way they’re interacting hints that they may slightly be more than mom and son…. Perhaps because the mom (just like Neil) lacks a strong manly figure in her life, so as she sees her son growing into a handsome young man she may have feelings for him a little bit. But I feel like it’s mainly her, and he mistakes these feelings for love (just like the coach who abused him). So strange.
Baby 😂this is so insane. Science says that sexual attraction is impossible to happen between relatives. Read abt it+you gotta stop watching movies untill you turn 18 bc what u said was insane

i love the scene with dagger by slowdive so much
I rewatch that scene periodically. Don't know why but I just love it
time stamp ?
This has got to be the BEST movie I’ve seen ever of its kind
I so agree.
One of the best movies ever made. After it was done I just sat back in silence, it's really insane how amazing it is.
The creepy part of Neil's interaction giving that kid candy is that he could see Neil becoming his abusers.
true or liking falling in love with what his abuser was going to take him through.
Or possibly giving the kid the kind fatherly attention he deserved but lacked.
i was looking for a comment like this, that scene makes me so uneasy
i interpreted the scene as him being kind to the child because of his own childhood trauma
