I just now realized that the opening chords at the opening shot of this video is “Pompeii” by Bastille! Latin translation at the start: “Where do we begin, the rubble or our sins?”
on minion mayhem's height requirement issue, the Florida version at least has a row of non moving benches right in front of the screen for the families who's kids can't go on the ride proper
Watching this a second time and the preroll ad was one of the versions of the ad at 4:45 so congratulations on getting paid by the company you already work for to make fun of them!
25:59 If it's any consolation, at some point Universal (probably Florida) is going to get their own Nintendo World. So at least that'll appeal to children. And even adults.
The Japan version of Minion Mayhem has the IMAX dome from the BTTF Ride, so that at least fixes the peripheral vision problem. Oh yeah, great video, as always. Can’t wait to see more.
Minion Mayhem in Hollywood is pretty good. I was shocked that the movement was so good! Thought it was a time waster but it’s pretty fun! Although the minions suck.
1:00 Whenever anyone complains about the current 'Fast and the Furious' tram stop on the tour, or the ride in Florida, I remind them that this... *thing* used to represent the franchise in the park. Two cars on sticks, that were neither fast nor furious.
Never seen any videos covering Universal’s expansion of their Hollywood park. Been going since I was little and I’ve always loved Universal. Great job at covering this expansion, I’m definitely looking forward to future videos.
I remember when we got a season pass and I thought my little sister would be able to ride it only to find out that she couldn’t at that point in 2015. Also great to see the Universal Studios Retrospective series back. Can’t wait for more.
This ride also brought tears to my eyes when I first rode it. For as annoying and harmful the minions are to entertainment and speech patterns, the story of the first film with gru learning to love these gorls is heartwarming and good and this ride excelled at showing the love this family has for each other and it melts my heart Also does Hollywood have the stationary row in the front like Orlando? If not that’s a total miss for accessibility and children too short to ride
Omg I cant believe I just saw this today! I’m loving the 2nd phase of the USH retrospective! (Btw thanks for being so cool when I saw you at Transformers a few weeks back! The highlight of my trip to LA!)
Despicable Me is Universal's golden goose franchise that they dote so much attention to, and they'll keep on doing so in both parks as long as the kids of today continue to spend money on this franchise.
I was catching up on some of your other videos, the algorithm that is RUclips doesn't always let me know when they happen, and I just wanted to say a couple of things. First I watch mostly your theme park videos and updates, I love them and watch them a lot to help get me through days when all want to do is run screaming through my work building. Suddenly I'm in sunny California in one of my favorite places in the world with someone I could be friends with in real life. It makes rainy Portland more bearable. Second I wanted to let you know that no matter how tough life gets you do make a difference. You are the friendly smile and the sense of fun that can brighten a bad day over and over again. Your videos are well done and worth watching several times. I don't feel that way about many videos. I wanted you to know that for what it's worth. Finally, as a Disney fan, you make me what to go back to Universal and that's a feat. Thank you for everything.
@@ThemeSnark Oh dear, I didn't mean to make you unhappy. I was really hoping to draw a smile not a tear. So since sincere compliments didn't work here's a terrible a joke. A man walks into a book store and says "I'm looking for books by Pavlov and Schrodinger." The woman behind the counter replies "Well the names ring a bell but I'm not sure if they're here or not" Ba dum dum - ching
I. AM SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU COVER THIS. I hadn’t been to Universal for almost exactly ten years before I went last year. It was so completely alien to me, I wasn’t even prepared! (Side note, I had no idea you worked at Universal when I ran into you coming off the transformers ride, and I thought I was having a stroke or hallucinating for a good two minutes before my friends shoved me back down the stairs to talk to you before I passed out from shock.)
Ah, a new USR video, perfect. Sorry I sort of missed the premiere, see if I can't catch the next one - or whenever you decide to do a live stream. ;) 18:21 - So how likely is that Star Trek thing, especially considering the most important actor for the films - the one playing Captain Kirk - walked away from negotiations for the fourth film?
And here I am, a 40 year old cat who still likes the Minions. Odie wouldn't stop laughing. But even if Illumination is slowly wearing out their welcome, I have a soft spot for the Minions and Gru. I like a lot of movies and such, and Minion Mayhem isn't my favorite ride...but it's one of them. (I like Shrek 4D a tad more)
18:25 - PROABABLY not Star Trek at this point seeing how that planned 4th film with the Abrams cast was postponed (don’t count on it being based on Star Trek Discovery either ‘cause I don’t see Universal making an attraction based on a streaming series that ISN’T Stranger Things) so The Bourne Attraction it is! (Or probably based on some other Illumination thing they have in the works) But that’s just my 2¢ on it.
I truly love this series so far. I can't wait to see your thoughts on the Wizarding world (mostly just the forbidden journey) as well as the Springfield area. Still a little sad I couldn't meet you when I went to the park, but as long as this series is coming out I'm happy.
Question is Theme Snark like your title for Theme Park related videos or like Universal Retrospective 2: Theme Snark. Also another amazing video, I’m already rewatching this.
You Americans get Sleeping Beauty/Cinderella’s Castle (depending on which coast you’re on), Spaceship Earth, and the TREE OF LIFE as the iconic structures designed to draw people into the parks. And what do we Canadians get? A mountain with a waterfall. That high divers jump off of every few hours. And also has a ride who’s plot is a blatant ripoff of The Hobbit. Wheeeee. But you know what? That’s the only ride at Canada’s Wonderland I can think of that has a definitive story so I’ll take what I can get.
My kids were 16 and 20 when this opened, and we all share the opinion that...well, the same as yours...Flawed, but sweet harmless fun...much better than the Very flawed movies!...Go easier on Shrek, though...We’ve Always liked that one a Hell Of a lot more than you or Tony have!
Landon McAfee As a Universal Theme Member of the other coast, everyday we have a rotation of positions, so he won’t always be In that position he can be everywhere in his ride in just one shift.
Hey, it's not an Illumination project unless it has overt mediocrity on display covering the redeeming albeit sparse qualities. So, mission accomplished Minion Mayhem is a faithful recreation of Despicable Me.

Oh good, the spam bots hare ganging up.
20:01 When theme parks inevitably start incorporating VR tech, this is going to age SUPER well.
“Let’s look at the fart gun!”
*Everyone looks at a different direction*

16:34 Oh hey, this is one of the songs on Cosmic Rewind!
The Hollywood version of Minion Mayhem could've worked better as a dark ride because the park really needs more of them.
I love how you played yellow by coldplay during the minion part
1:00 Whenever anyone complains about the current 'Fast and the Furious' tram stop on the tour, or the ride in Florida, I remind them that this... *thing* used to represent the franchise in the park. Two cars on sticks, that were neither fast nor furious.
Still love this episode, especially the way you discuss your emotions about the ride at the end!
Dollywood has the right idea where they have a height station where you get colored wristbands accordingly.

5:21-5:27 Well, your corporate overlord known as Comcast hasn't gone after you if your previous videos are of any indication...yet, at least.
Omg I cant believe I just saw this today! I’m loving the 2nd phase of the USH retrospective! (Btw thanks for being so cool when I saw you at Transformers a few weeks back! The highlight of my trip to LA!)
So VERY VERY Happy to see you get this out, Charlie!! Thank you so very much for this! Fantastic work, as always!
So good to have you back Spazz.

Christopher Daniels cameo in the Waterworld show on the channel. Nice! 👍 #AEW #FallenAngel
Doug Jackson SCU!
The park has changed so much from the last time I went(2008) to when I got hired last year.
I love this because with the teaser and the opening, I thought this would be more serious, only to be squandered by the DCA monologue
The saga continues
Rewatching this in preparation of the Springfield episode.
This was so well put together
YOOOO WE BACK WITH THE LONG FORM HISTORY BOYS
The inclusion of Randy Newman’s song “Short People” got a big laugh outta me...
I want "Theme Snark" as a t-shirt.
16:06 Is that the "THIS ASSHOLE" guy?!
its so great to see this back man! i love your universal retrospective a ton and i hope the continuation goes well :)

Tears of thankfulness was what I was going for.
nice return to form, i dig it.

WOO HOOOO!!! Spazz is back with awesome content!
I just got my season pass to Universal so thanks Spazz for this video!
This was fantastic. Love your work.
The popcorn bucket thing had me in stiches

Holy hell yes!! Sorry I missed the premiere.
Universal changed a lot. They've always changed, but we really did lose a lot of icons over the years.
Love it! Now we just need tony to release a new video and we’ll have all of the theme park guys doing theme park videos again!
Always great to see a new universal vid
OMG! Thank hog it finally came out!!
What's this, a new Universal series!? HOW DID I MISS THIS!?
🤷♂️
Love the new channel name

06:44 is that actually Vin Diesel?
24:25 was that a starkid reference?

The former. It's a name Dave, Tony and I have been kicking around for a while, so I figured I'd use it for a mild re-branding.
Do I hear California Girls in the background- the version that used to be in the Paradise Pier music loop?
YEP!
This should be interesting to watch since I haven't been to Universal since 2013. At this point I'm just waiting on Super Nintendo World to open
Not a bad plan. Though, tickets might be in the $150 range by then.
Why did I wait till now to watch this?
15:12 did the Falcon make the Kessel Run
Amazing

26:29 why am I tearing up
Part 2! ruclips.net/video/0W8Vksw7FkM/видео.html
I think if the ride had VR treadmills could have fixed a lot of problems and just make them size adjustable and boom your a minion
Are you still working at Universal ?
#BRINGBACKSUPERSTARLIMO

Spazz Master is A-Ok!
Are you always at the loading station of Transformers, or do you work other parts of the queue as well?
Landon McAfee As a Universal Theme Member of the other coast, everyday we have a rotation of positions, so he won’t always be In that position he can be everywhere in his ride in just one shift.
well fear not that pets ride is being built
Dig.👍🏿

I've been ghost for a little while when did you change the name of the channel did I miss something?
You ARE spaz-master
Every time I watch this the asain minion always feels just just as fucked up as the first time.
I freaking love Waterworld. It's Mad Max but the opposite!
the minion ride is an abomination and I HATED IT
