Blood mist is just to nice to have especially in high pit tiers so I would not recommend dropping it, starless skies overall would be a bad thing for the build yes you get a 40% multiplier, but you are losing an aspect that is close to that plus ultimate cool down, mage damage, crit chance, att speed, and int/life. Hello. I am new to necro. I read that your stats screen showed that your attack speed is 46%. How and where did you get to the point of 90% attack speed?? Thanks for your clarification.
Hitting the attack speed of 100% for the cult leader node is really important so I would say that comes first honestly but they are both important overall.
@@xxDR0xx I have not messed with it but, after the ptr I think I'm going to min max it and see how far I can push the pit with it so I will be making a min maxed guide for it most likely next week.
Honestly right now I don't see a need for it, but I do plan to replace my amulet in the next couple of days with a Hellbent GA amulet and try to get rank 6 right there. Then push the pit hopefully close to 140 ish or as far as I can go with it and at that point, I may make 1 final guide.
2 reasons, 1 the base att speed doesn't matter mages attack fast as is would rather have more damage overall and secondly by using those we would be losing 120% multiplier by not having blighted aspect on the 2 hander greatly reducing our overall dps by a lot. Personally I would not recommend that and ontop of all that there isnt any other aspects or stats we need with the focus the build has great defense and awesome damage already. This is the best version of mages overall it can only be made better with better masterwork rolls
I use a Wand+Focus to be able to integrate the sacrifice aspect (and more Crit Chance + CDR). Works pretty well for me. Havent tested 2H weapon yet, try this tonight or tomorrow.
@@yungtato244 true. I already switched to a 2-H weapon. I havent finished my testing yet, but so far it seems you need the 240% Bonus to make enough damage for 120+ pits
@@XPGamess I dont understand the diff between 2h Sword and Scythe, you said in the video that its more damage for the mages but i guess i dont understand why, could you elaborate? this build is so much fun, would the Grandfather be any good?
I think this is so funny, your gear has all the things my gear doesn't, and my gear has all the things yours does not. For example, I got tons of mage damage, and on my 2h I also have mage damage; anywhere you can put mage damage on I got it pretty much, sitting at %2500 and could do better if I hit it on mastery. Your gear basically has all the life and damage reduction I do not have. My Tyriael's might has 2 rolls into the increased resistances cap (which is nice for elemental damage reduction don't get me wrong) with the last roll into all stats damn the luck. My 2handed weapon only gives me 60% chance for mages to attack twice, because I figured Mage damage was more important and 60% was already pretty solid for a temper roll as is, but you got me rethinking this strat, and I could try and reroll the masterwork to hit mage damage once, and skelatal cast twice chance once or twice, and that could be fine. My like at the moment is 30k, and I was forced to use a 2h sword, because it had a greater life afix on it, that I hit once in masterwork giving me almost 4k life alone from it where my scythe did not. When I was doing the Golem build, I was sitting at 42k hp without elixirs and 5500% golem damage, however I am having an easier and more fun of a time with the Shadow Mages, glad I sold all my Stygian Stones to fund the build change, and be able to swap and start over, it was well worth it.
Not exactly sure which build you are talking about but as for endgame and gear the options you want to use are going to be similar for BIS. As far as paragon board this is what I came up with it's pretty optimized and yeah the build is tanky for sure with 65k life while using both elixirs and a decent amount of damage reduction even without the hardened bones aspect.
This is the build I was talking about. Gear-wise, basically the same, but I think you might be onto something with the paragon board differences. Today I'll try your paragon setup on my second Necro, and then use the same gear (just switch it over) and, I'll let you know what results I come up with. It might take a little while since I'll have to re-level glyphs and whatnot on the second necro.
@@Mrzero22 I don't think I will need to but I am going to push the pit with golem today and see how far I can take it, if any changes are needed, I will make an updated guide. Either way I will also post the highest pit tier I do with the golem build.
I am still not convinced that mages are stronger than Golem at max gear. The only benefit for mages are pushing higher pits, maybe. But Golem 1 taps torment bosses, Lilith, Pit bosses, blood maidens, etc push the highest pits. He can do it all.
Well, it would come down to min maxing the build and pulling out the most damage you can to test it out which can be a pain rolling all the GA's to the highest rank with the masterwork, lots of time involved.
@@XPGamess Thx for ur reply... I tried like 100 times the 140 with my golem not so close maybe it s possible with a perfect double run and low hp boss as SOL
Because if you notice in that board, we have the mage glyph and were trying to get as much int in radius as possible. Don't worry about any of the golem bonuses the board is strictly for lots of int.
@@jimgreene4736 you should check mobalytics the site with the build planner I have in the description but.. there are 4 spots below the glyph with 20 int and the 2 rare nodes knowledge and preservation above the glyph giving 10 each in total equaling 40 int.
How does occult dominion on necklace instead stack up? and What about the first shadow mage perk instead of the second one? The math is confusing for me. Also why is aspect reanimation better than aspect of the damned?
The extra bolt is better the 15%x damage since the mages basically shoot 2 for every one. Also one more mage compare to an extra 50% multiplier for 5 mages is not worth it.
@@XPGamess Someone did the math for occult on the amulet. Having the extra mage is a 23% DPS increase vs a 25% increase from having the extra 50x on unyielding. So basically it moves the damage from your burst to consistent DPS. The main downfall is you have to drop grasping veins, but the upside is you can use hardened bones again and be tankier. I've been switching between the 2 setups a lot and I find the extra mage+reaper feels more consistent and gets me through the dungeon slightly faster, while having grasping veins marginally speeds up boss fights. I also prefer the tankiness though since I'm bad at the game lol. I've only pushed a 126 but it was cake, just haven't had a chance to push farther.
@@habib6863 well your losing more then that in damage since you lose grasping veins which brings our mages to crit cap so personally I would not suggest it.
@@XPGamess right that's why I mentioned losing grasping veins is the biggest downside, but if you're not hitting crit cap (I can only currently hit 95) or you don't have maximum uptime on unyielding and someone wanted a tankier option it is definitely viable. Just putting the info out there basically. For the absolute min maxed pushing you would still ideally want grasping veins for sure. I've also noticed that most other mage builds don't run mage glyph and run another multiplier instead, you have any thoughts on that? Also great content keep it up brother!
@@habib6863 thanks man, well I found that running the mage glyph for my setup instead of like another 10% multiplier turned out to be more damage overall for the build. Sometimes when you have a bunch of multipliers already adding more damage to be multiplied can be more damage overall.

@@XPGamess 2 elixirs? how is it? is this something from paragon board? because I leveled one elixir to level 90. @@Fm_Inter we use that board just for the 65 intelligence in radius to boost our mage damage with the glyph. Dont worry about the golem stuff it doesn't matter
@@binocular2011 Not really honestly, they are pretty close all the way around really/ this boss gameplay is old and before a lot of changes I made so now they are doing even more dps by a good margin I just don't have any current tormented gameplay since I have solely been focusing on the pit.
how do you survive 100+ ? with out the damage reduction codex (im using shakos instead of tyraels but same damage reduction) i get one shot by certain mechanics which cant be avoided
Well some mechanics are one shot and a certain degree of the pit is avoiding those, I get one shotted also just the gameplay you see I don't cause I'm uploading the best clears usually. Also tyreals is vastly better then shako because it gives you maximum to all resistances which helps a ton with survivability

If you want to push high levels of the pit yes you need it, if not you can use shako. I cover that in the gear and aspects section
@@XPGamess thanks for the heads up!
Hello. I am new to necro. I read that your stats screen showed that your attack speed is 46%. How and where did you get to the point of 90% attack speed?? Thanks for your clarification.
46% + the Frenzied Dead aspect of 45% = 90% on Gear + the 10% Minions get in the paragon board = 101%
I ran mages for awhile but I couldn't scale them anymore so now I'm run a blight build. Did you try casting blight with bone prison?
Concept sounds good but it would take up another aspect spot and we dont have room for it
@@XPGamess Yeah that's the issue with uniques now. Hard to choose one over those tempering slots.
I have another question is crit chance more important then attack speed if you where going to choose one of them which one would be better?
Hitting the attack speed of 100% for the cult leader node is really important so I would say that comes first honestly but they are both important overall.
Is this stronger than your Perfected Golem build? Is it worth to swap builds if so?
They are both good honestly
@XPGamess have you had to tweak the Golem build since the patch? I noticed some things changed but there's so much to this game to keep up with lol
@@xxDR0xx I have not messed with it but, after the ptr I think I'm going to min max it and see how far I can push the pit with it so I will be making a min maxed guide for it most likely next week.

I noticed a couple of pieces with Iron Maiden size. That should be Decrepify right? Just got unlucky?
Yes hah, damn tempering system
Hi xp is gloom and hellbent commander good together on amulet ? Or crit and attack is better?
I would say attack speed and hellbent for sure, then it's up to you
Any chance you might update golem or is there no need?
Honestly right now I don't see a need for it, but I do plan to replace my amulet in the next couple of days with a Hellbent GA amulet and try to get rank 6 right there. Then push the pit hopefully close to 140 ish or as far as I can go with it and at that point, I may make 1 final guide.
Awesome build. I'm struggling to find resources on this. Why go with the 2h instead of a wand (fast attk speed for mages) + focus for more aspects?
@@Brand-2423you can’t really argue unless you’re completing higher content
@@yungtato244 true. I already switched to a 2-H weapon. I havent finished my testing yet, but so far it seems you need the 240% Bonus to make enough damage for 120+ pits
@@XPGamess I dont understand the diff between 2h Sword and Scythe, you said in the video that its more damage for the mages but i guess i dont understand why, could you elaborate? this build is so much fun, would the Grandfather be any good?
Why the golem rare node MUTATION if we are not even using golems?
It's either for the intelligence with our mage glyph or to get to intelligence for our mage glyph
That is funny man
Thanks!
Thank you so much, really appreciate it!
So similar to the Gigachad minion's build until it hits the paragon board. So is this build more tanky?
Love it, what’s your thoughts on golem vs mages? Do you miss the unstoppable from golem?
Appreciate the work
Thanks man, Honestly they are both good they are pretty much neck and neck I think the mages farm faster though and have a bit more survivability
Will you need to/ or will you update your golem build?
@@Mrzero22 I don't think I will need to but I am going to push the pit with golem today and see how far I can take it, if any changes are needed, I will make an updated guide. Either way I will also post the highest pit tier I do with the golem build.
@@XPGamess much appreciated
I am still not convinced that mages are stronger than Golem at max gear. The only benefit for mages are pushing higher pits, maybe. But Golem 1 taps torment bosses, Lilith, Pit bosses, blood maidens, etc push the highest pits. He can do it all.

Necro Golem works still well till 139...but what about after 140 ? for mage... for golem....
Nice! I'll definitely try your build. I'm at 120 atm.
Why Do you get Miscreation (golem armor) if you sacrifice the golem?
The int gives the node damage to the mages
Because if you notice in that board, we have the mage glyph and were trying to get as much int in radius as possible. Don't worry about any of the golem bonuses the board is strictly for lots of int.
Hey xp what potions are u using
Well, I would switch between the 15% att speed and antivennin potion OR the antivennin potion and fortititude 2 potion for lots of life.
Been hearing a lot of talk about Blood Begets Blood to be included. Not interested in that?
No, it's not a damage boost its actually a loss of damage and survivability overall with everything you lose.
@XPGamess @XPGamess also sounded harder to utilize and play properly so I was iffy about it. What should be used until I craft this Tyraels?
@@TeX11Gaming get a chest with int/life/res or armor and put aphotic aspect on that and hardened bones aspect on the helm till you can get tyreals
Dumb question. How are you unlocking Amplify on the board when you only have 20 intelligence in your radius and it requires 40?
There is 40 in radius, did you level your glyph to 15 to get the larger radius?
It’s at 16 now. I’m on PlayStation. Does that make a difference? It’s say 4 radius is the max at 15. Can’t put it in.
Looked at the video again. I see the 3 under the glyph and one bottom right of the red radius. Where are the other four?
Sometimes when you have a bunch of multipliers already adding more damage to be multiplied can be more damage overall.
why you dont push the shadowblight bonus ?
We only take the key passive to proc the blighted aspect. We scale our minions damage not shadowblight so it is not worth doing anything with it.
good day, tell me how you survive like this? I basically have the same things, except for the amulet, I didn't have a hit deflection on it, but I get demolished very often, I can't just stand and hit mobs like that.
Well part of it is positioning and also are you using 2 elixirs?
@@XPGamess 2 elixirs? how is it? is this something from paragon board? because I leveled one elixir to level 90. I was just watching your passage through the 130th pit, sometimes you get very little damage, when I was passing through the 120th pit, mobs were directly killed by KDd, and I don't understand how and from where, full hp and then bang and a corpse.
