Why go to the bus station? You could have taken the taxi from the airport, directly to your Hotel. Also I'm kind of surprised the local bus cost you 50 pesos from the bus station to the city. I have taken a taxi from the city to the bus station for 50 pesos. So the bus should be less. In fact you can take a taxi from anywhere to anywhere in the city for 50-60 pesos (Depende de Taxista). My mother-in -law has even taken a Taxi from our house/building in Guanajuato. To her house in Zamora for 1200 pesos. I think she also bought the cab driver a meal on the way. Also she is a very accomplished negotiator for the price. That may have had something to do with it.
