Hey y'all! We're Chris + Sara (or as you know us, Let’s Be Us), a husband and wife digital nomad travel duo currently working and traveling full time with our pup, Kramer. We've always dreamed of traveling full time, and in May of 2018 we took the leap and made it happen! Today we're balancing work and fun everywhere between the Pacific and Atlantic. From hiking and cycling to tacos and coffee, we're trying to see and experience as much of this world as we can! While our home is currently on wheels in our DIY Sprinter van, our travels take us all around the world.
You should really stop in Zacatecas! It’s a gorgeous city with historic Spanish-Baroque architecture. I think, the most beautiful city in Mexico
do you want them to die bro😭😭😭, he’ll nah
@@martingregory6993Stop. Zacatecas is a large city with many people out and about.
@@danmur2797 people are out and about in south africa or yemen, that doesn’t mean it’s safe, i wouldn’t go
@martingregory6993 Bro, I've been to Zacatecas as have my family recently.
I've also been to Guadalajara and Morelia which are generally in "dangerous" states.
Zacatecas was one of the most peaceful states in Mexico until about 10 years ago when cartels from neighboring Jalisco and from Sinaloa came to Zacatecas. Sort of the same thing happening to Guanajuato right now, and yet people are still flocking to San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato. The city of Zacatecas itself is the same way
zacatuercas esta muy feo
Omg this warms my heart! Guanajuato is truly stunning, I studied abroad there when I was 15 and it truly was an amazing experience I owe a lot of who I am to my time over there and staying there inspired me to travel more and experience different cultures. So happy to see you guys there! Enjoy!!!
So cool! It's such a beautiful city!
Guanajuato’s history and its part in Mexico’s independence is fascinating. You should explore that upon your return trip. Great video!! Thanks
Hey Andy, How are you doing? Miss your videos! xo
@@WeDidntExpectthis Thank you!! I really miss making videos. I actually shot video during my last trip to Mexico in February but never processed it. Partly because I took on a part time job and partly because my editing software expired. I hope you keep up with your travels from your RUclips Companero!
Thanks for watching Andy!
As you travel thru Mexico you will be stunned as you realize that most of Mexico looks like this or even more beautiful. With extensive historic centers made out of stone and churches decorated in gold….
🙏🙏
En el callejón del beso pueden besarse de balcón a balcón, pero es más tradicional hacerlo en el tercer escalón... y es gratis. Es raro ver que no hay personas haciendo fila.
Hey guys! I have been watching you since your first van build, and I can say without a doubt, this is my favorite video of yours yet. What a wonderful mix of narration and cinematography! The way you showcased the city was wonderfully executed - the history, the beauty of the landscape and buildings, etc. Well done and thanks for sharing your travels with us!
Wow! Thanks so much Sarah. We've come a long way. Thank you for sticking with us :)
I studied there in college, nice to see a video about the city. FYI, you are almost saying the Guanajuato correctly, just not the ending. It’s like waa-to.
🙏🙏🙏
You guys captures the beauty of the city so well! I loved all of the colors of the buildings and all of the local musicians on the streets!
Thanks y'all!
You are getting better at each new video!
The cinema style shooting, the framing, the narration - all contribute for this impression.
Guanajuato is a remaining testimony of a mining esplendour era, now gone by.
The town of Ouro Preto in Brazil has a similar history and beauty.
Thank you so much Luiz! We loved our time there. Can't wait to get back to Brazil!
ALWAYS get a room that offers coffee in the morning or an Airbnb that has a coffee maker.
Such an easy way to avoid not having coffee. I couldn’t imagine.
There are several Cafe Tal & Conquistador Coffee Houses that are open by 7 AM and both sell coffee that you can take back with you to your room.
Wow! I’m embarrassed to say I’ve never heard of this city. But my goodness it is a treasure! Thank you so much for taking us here just stunning! ~Cara ❤
Thanks for watching y'all! You would love it.
It does look like a beautiful historic town. I have an aunt who lives there. Now I need to visit her for the first time. Thanks.
I had the pleasure of visiting Guanajuato in 2007. Breathtaking city! I hope you guys were able to visit the Diego Rivera museum. The museum was actually his home when he was a little boy. It's amazing to see some of the familiar homes. Can't wait to go back!
Such a good tip!
Fascinating city and I love the way you showed it to us. Great video!
Thanks for watching!
I whole-heartedly agree with you guys! I visited Guanajuato in 2023 and also fell in love with the city. I felt like I was truly in Mexico when I arrived in that city. I loved the tunnels and alley ways. I also fell in love with the architecture and colors and how alive and vibrant the city was. I remember eating at a restaurant and a parade passing by of a wedding ceremony. It was so festive and fun. Thank you for sharing this video and safe travels and blessings to you guys!
Thanks for watching Joseph! We loved our time there!
And Mummies museum?, and alhóndiga de Granaditas?, part 2?, and San Miguel de Allende next..please
Your drone shots are great! Guanajuato is a very different type of place. We spent a couple of weeks there after having lived in San Miguel de Allende for a year and wondered about the possibility of living there, but those steep laneways are a killer and it was not practical since we have 3 dogs. We stayed in a much flatter area slightly uphill called La Presa which was nice - had a huge park and a nice dam with restaurants and cafes but we found it impossible to find a place for rent that would take dogs. It was the only place in Mexico we've had problems with finding accommodation. But, not sure that I'd want to live there anyway cause although it was cool to visit it's kind of a strange place and a little claustrophobic. Beautiful buildings though - but we're not mountain goats. So we've moved on to another place in Mexico now. 🌵🌻🌴🌶
Thank you! Yes, I was wondering how living would be there. It's beautiful to visit!
Very well done! Just found your channel and you have a new subscriber! I was in Guanajuato about three months ago. I agree that it is a very special place.
Enjoy your travels!
Wow! Thanks for subscribing.
Guanajuato looks beautiful, the streets looks so walkable and I love all the colors and hills. So interesting about the tunnels too! This is our first time hearing of this city but it is on our list to visit now! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching y'all!
Great video! I've just arrived in Guanajuato myself and am making a similar journey to yourselves, only solo and by public transport! Subscribed!
Enjoy your visit! It's a beautiful town to get around in and very safe!
It is amazing here
Just discovered you two. Great energy, great love. Thank you
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you're here.
Top notch footage
This video makes me SO EXCITED to keep traveling!!! I’ve never heard of this town but it’s definitely on our list now 😊
Y'all definitely need to visit. Well worth it.
Like video. I really like your narration and your perspective of this beautiful city.
Thank you!
Guanajuato look lovely. You both are showing a nice angle of the city and the country.
I just drove into Bend, OR last night. Wishing you two were around, maybe next summer or...New Zealand. :)
Ugh wish we were in Bend! New Zealand would be cool :)
Thank you for sharing.
Our pleasure!
Guanahooato or GUanawhoato , where I grew up going on lots of weekends from Leon :), of course San Miguel De Allende too , but GTO 😍
Oh FYI, differences SMDA and GTO: 1-GTO has them awesom tunnels! 2-GTO is in a canyon, 3-GTO is not as "American gentrified" , both are good elements! SM is fancier in a good way, GTO is more "Mexican original" ina good way IF, that's what you want to experience. Peace! sorry, Paz! Oh and GTO has a Diego Rivera and more museums, Don Quixote history, the main plaza theater etc, the alondiga! BUT, SMDA is only about 1hr from GTO! just do both if you are ever in the area :)
Yes beautiful ❤
Thank you so much!!
If you loved Guanajuato, you’ll love Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí
Good to know! Thank you!
Hi 😊
Just watched the video, loved it! I'm curious to know, where did you park the van and how/when will you continue your trip?
Cheers
Raphael and Larissa
Hey y'all! We actually parked our truck in Mexico City while we are here in America. Safe space. We're heading back to get on the road in a few weeks!
Hi guys, remember when you in Mexico, always say Buenos dias (good morning) Buenas trades (good afternoon) con permiso (excuse me ) and Buen provecho (enjoy) even if you don't know those people.
will do Luis!
Going to Leon Guanajuato june 19 from Orlando Florida🎉😊😊
Leon was so nice! A lot of nice leather shops!
Hi guys! I just heard someone else tell me Guanajuato is the most beautiful city. But I've also seen on more than one occasion San Miguel de Allende top the list of most beautiful cities in the world! I would like to visit both. Did you see visit Chihuahua? I was just there recently and enjoyed it!
THANKS FOR THE BEAUTIFUL VIDEO, PLANNING MY FIRST TRIP TO MEXICO AND I HAVE SEEN A FEW PEOPLE REALLY RECOMMEND THIS CITY. WHAT IS RENT LIKE ? WE ARE LOOKING TO STAY IN MEXICO FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS. LOOKING FOR SAFE, BEAUTIFUL CITIES OR AREAS, DOESNT NECESSARITY HAVE TO BE BEACH FRONT, IDEAS PLEASE? THANKS!!!
You captured the beauty of Guanajuato even though you can't pronounce it. And that random parade you found, well, those things happen often here. It's a city with customs for the people who live here, not fake parades created for tourists that you might see elsewhere. Sadly, though, I've seen some events change to hide from tourists prying eyes. You didn't see much of the city, though. It's much more diverse then you'd expect. If you visit, please don't treat this like you would a beach town.
I (Emily) just said "Is that a donkey?" at the exact same time you did. 🤣 What a beautiful city!
😂😂😂 I hope it was a donkey.
"Wah-nah-WAH-toh"
🙏🙏🙏
Leon Guanajuato, is the capital of the leather and beautiful!!
It is beautiful! We bought some leather goods while we were there!
The big pastry is called a buñuelo!!
I was looking for this comment lol 12:33 my grandma used to make some that were easily 2 feet in diameter ahaha
Thank you!
🙏🙏🙏❤️
That giant cookie u was talking about is a buñuelo
Good to know!
SIempre bien educados los camareros..
I live an horas away from Guanajuato. Beautiful City. Did you get to visit "Cristo Rey"?
We didn't get to visit Cristo Rey! I wish we had though.
Plis go to Alondra de Granaditas. Listen to the story of the battle. And you see in a wall the declaration where slavery is abolished. 1810
Thank you for that recommendation!
Go to San Miguel de Allende!
We did!
Why San Miguel de Allende might surprise you...

🙏🙏
Juan-a-watto 😊
Definitely gwah, lived here for three years
@@dougmaus4468 you gots to have the H (Mexican from near Leon to GTO :) , and no J, so Guanahooato, or Guanawhoato :)
Nice place to stay in Guanajuato - now, to complete your life, all you need is FOUR STREET DOGS to share your camper with you?????? Usually, I do not recommend traveling in a motor home in Mexico, but you've got a convenient rig there - not too big. I always find it cheaper and better to live closer to the locals in Mexico and NEVER visit trailer parks - they seem to cost more so I'd prefer staying among the locals in a condo or house. I usually get disocunts through seasonal or through friends.
“Come here” 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
When you get to the tip of South America, how will you get back?
Haven't figured that out yet. Maybe ship it back...or ship somehwere else.
It's FUNICULAR not vernacular. Otherwise good job.
😂😂😂 thank you!
As you travel, please get better at pronunciation. Guanajuato is tricky, but you're educating those who come after you so please make more of an effort.
And PLEASE speak slower, the combination of the voicefry/uptalk is hard to follow as it is already sometimes 🫤
Cutting to the next shot for no reason....? Drone shot for no reason? Thumbs down.
Thanks Jake! Because of your interaction you’re helping this video’s reach go even farther! Check out the next video with other drone shots for ‘no reason’
So slo-mo everything = boring
Thanks for watching Lewis. Go enjoy some tik tok for us
