    Cris , a little tip for ya. That ep 0 grease your putting in those pofs is supose to come up to the bottom of the cross shaft, 3.4 oz. Heat that stuff up with hot water so it poors and you'll get a more acurate fill. Over fill causes heat.

    Really good video Chris, I just sent the 2 bucks it was well worth it. I might add most people do run the first pass on a hay field CCW or what you referred to as a back pass. An old timer taught me a different way, run the first pass clock wise with tractor next to the wire looking for booby traps which usually are something someone has thrown across the fence, also be mindful of any broken wires in path. Complete your whole pass, then turn around and run CCW pass using the mowed path for line to mow by.

    Hope to see you using the Vermeer TM700 soon. My dealer just asked me if I’d be interested in one, funny you have one. I’d like to see it used in the field before I decide. Think it may be too big for my purposes.

      Will do. We have been getting rain this week so I hope next week I can get to cutting some hay.

    you could have probably bought the yoke you needed for the shaft from Agri supply . I got one for a New Holland 6740 from a local Kubota dealer.

    Any chance of getting more detailed information on how you set the clearance between the gears.

      No I sure don’t. I just did it by feel. Made sure they werent to tight or to loose. Still going strong after 2 seasons knock on wood

    Did the gear box have 4 mounting bolts - seems like bottom two bolts are hard to get too - I have Tm 800 and gear box came loose, bottom two bolts came out and torn up shielding around first head on cutter bar. May go back with less expensive shielding. Was main gear box hard to mount?

    • @CenTexAg
      @CenTexAg  6 месяцев назад

      Yes if I remember correctly there should be two on top that are easy to get too and the two on bottom you have to open the side door and kinda reach up there behind the shielding.
      It’s awkward to mount because you have to slide it in the connecting U-joints that drive the first cutter pod.

      Thanks- Good video! I will tackle when weather warms up. I have same problem with blades hitting on 1st and second turtle. May have to replace gear.

    A couple of mill Wright’s that I knew would use dry ice to shrink parts.

    • @CenTexAg
      @CenTexAg  4 года назад

      I’ve heard of doing that. Just not sure where to get it

    • @markbittner8543
      @markbittner8543 4 года назад

      Some grocery stores carry it. I googled “Dry Ice” on my way back from a hunting trip and was able to buy it. Alternatively, it’s just CO2 which forms a solid as its decompressed out of a storage cylinder. My brother made a form and just blew CO2 gas into it to form blocks. I’m not sure if it’s worth having a CO2 tank just for that, but maybe your weld shop would have it.

    @deanrice9850 Год назад

    Do you have a part number for that seal you took off that in put shaft that you used a pick to take off?

    • @CenTexAg
      @CenTexAg  Год назад

      I sure don’t. If I remember correctly, when you go to Vermeer parts catalog on there website, they give you the seal dimensions. Then you can just Google the size of the seal and order one. Or run by your local seal supplier

    Your gonna laugh, but I use pvc pipe of various diameters to drive bearings home. It works great, doesnt mar the race.

    Any advice on adjusting the timing for this mower?

    • @CenTexAg
      @CenTexAg  3 года назад +1

      It’s pretty simple. Make sure the blades are 90* opposite of each other. Remove 4 bolts, lift up the gear slightly and adjust the direction needed. If blades are still making contact you may have a bent/twisted shaft that runs threw all the pods

    How much acreage do you mow?
