    It would be very helpful if auto journalists would state the size category of the car and describe how spacious or snug it feels.

    One simple answer: NO. This car is not meant to be taken off the pavement to offroad, but it is decent for driving in the snow/bad conditions. Maybe some LIGHT offroading.

      Handles Light Off Road just fine.
      I like the AT4 interiors bettee than the Denali, the contrast stitching and badge look sharp opening the door in the morning.

    Ok so the city mpg is good but why is the hw mpg essentially the same as my 400hp velar? They should be similar weights too. Also a DSG (I'm assuming since you said 9 speed) is the wrong transmission for an "off-road" car.
    The only explanation for this mpg issue is the things so underpowered the engine is having to work hard on the highway. I mean yes the Velar is a mild hybrid but it's still a 400HP 3L i6. It shouldn't be getting the same metric as a 170 hp 1.5L i4 when the cars weigh the same

      The Valar is over 4400 pounds, the Terrain is a little over 3500 pounds

    • @mambofox4333
      @mambofox4333 10 месяцев назад

      @@alanb3213 which better proves my point. Why is that terrain, with a baby engine, and 1000 pounds lighter getting the same mpg (or 1-2 better) as a Velar.

      Well yeah. The Terrain and Equinox are essentially bottom of the barrel for the compact SUV class. The 2025 Equinox looks pretty sweet though! Having said that, I’m not a RAV4 fan despite the notion of engine longevity. The interior is just way to budget car vibe for me.

    Why would you ever buy this thing when you can get a kia sportage x-pro for the same price. The kia is better looking, slightly larger, tows more, and costs the same at a better trim level.

    Compared to the Koreans this SUV is so outdated, the only thing I see fresh are the wheels 😏

      There is no comparison to the Sportage and Tucson whatsoever. Even if one of them were to catch fire, they would still be better looking and more luxurious than this and many others in the class.

    I can’t believe this piece of rubbish is going for $40,000 MSRP. GMC should be dropping $10,000 off the sticker price for that horrendous interior alone. Not even kidding.

    GMC terrain is absolute trash. Just got back from driving 2500 miles of highway and unpaved "maintained" roads of backcountry throughout the midwest USA. First, let's start with the most basic. Design of the gear shift "finger levers". These are below the stereo mimicking stereo or climate control buttons. Also instead of pushing a button you need to stick your finger in and pull to engage the gear. It's weird, poorly designed and you'll never get used to it. The cruise control and lane assist are inferior to ALL the vehicle brands I've tried. I'm assuming it's all the same tools, chips and hardware but the programing for GMC is horrendous. Lane assist is like a drunk and dangerous. Cruise does not brake or keep a safe distance, it will crash into cars ahead. Crash warning, even on the highest distance setting gives a pathetic warning with sound and dash light but this is when you're a few feet away from a crash situation (comically worthless). Suspension off road is comically bad with thumps and concerning suspension feel. Road clearance is mediocre and the plastic wind guard under the nose was scraping on average road dips. Engine was average at best. Feel on the highway was average BUT....when driving 75mph...it felt like you were going every MPH! No thoughts or concern you may be going too fast without noticing. lol.

    • @EuropeanUS
      @EuropeanUS 6 месяцев назад

      There is no good enough suspension for fly over states roads. But I can agree that lane assistance is really bad.

      My friend had a 2020 Terrain lease, and I had never been in one so I asked her if I could take it around the block. 5 minutes of being in that thing was way too long. Talk about a piece of junk on every level.

    Basically ugly inside and out, and zero off road capability. But as a day to day vehicle, probably pretty decent.

      Yeah it needs a refresh for some reason the interior feels like a Chevy Malibu and Chevy equinox
