    Nice work man. I just started mold making and it's quite a bit of fun. Made my first mold when I did my Chewbacca mask. Keep up the good work dude. Got a subscriber out of me👍

    Good video man. Your production was really simple and to the point, with some good tips sprinkled throughout. I’m going to try it soon :)

    I would suggest Smooth-On's Dragonskin 10 silicone for moulds like this. It's a lot softer and stretchier, which makes it easier to remove from a cast when the mould is a little thicker. Also ditch the mould keys. If you make the mother mould well they're unnecessary, and when the mould starts to wear out, the keys start to cause small indentations in the cast. Nice job overall though!

      I've always wanted to use the flexible smooth cast 65d ever since I saw the Ironman helmet drop test from smooth cast

    Question for you! Was one kit of the free form epoxy dough enough to make the shell for the mother mold? I made one out of plaster and it doesn't really seem to be holding anything in place properly

      It can however it would be very thin I recommend two it's usually worth the investment in terms of how many problems you avoid doing so.

    Whats the benefits of this instead of Just 3d Print it?

    • @ericprint3576
      @ericprint3576  2 года назад

      If done right no layer lines to smooth out, to make a finished helmet it could take 3 hours vs the days of printing separate pieces, and no worry of the print busting loose off the print bed

    Hey man are those to smaller bottles of the rebound 25 stuff enough to make a mold like this

    • @ericprint3576
      @ericprint3576  2 года назад +1

      I used 2 full bottles of the small jars and any leftovers I had. Technically you might be able to make a mold but it would be a flimsy mold.

    How'd the printed helmet on its own compared to the molded one stand up?

    • @ericprint3576
      @ericprint3576  3 года назад

      Both aren't flimsy the cast helmet only takes a couple hours to make and finish where as 3d printed takes weeks to print, smooth, and paint

      @natestrings673 3 года назад

      @@ericprint3576 So if you were to do it for production, obviously cast. How long did the cast preparation take outside of the what the video shows?

    • @ericprint3576
      @ericprint3576  3 года назад +1

      If you're asking how long to cast a helmet I'd say max 2 to 3 hours because you're adding epoxy resin in layers and have to let them cure for 15 or 20 minutes
