My friends and I were talking about therapists in the USA. They seem to be the craziest people out there. In my state, we have a marriage therapist who has been married...and DIVORCED 7 (SEVEN) times. No thanks! I'll pass 👎
We agree that we are so much happier traveling full-time than we were back home. The stress of working for a company was so much higher than any travel related worries.
I've never been a digital nomad. However, I've been an expat since '98 and every 4 to 5 years end up changing my country of residence for work. I never plan on this and ended up buying homes in three different countries. It's always painful to get rid of your possessions when you change countries. But go for it! Remember, you don't own your possessions. Your possessions own you! I am planning on retiring at the end of 2023. I love the ex-Soviet Republics. So, I have started learning Russian. I plan on residing in different countries for at least 3 months at a time. Since I hate cold weather, I'll have to find countries with suitable climates in winters. I especially like Vietnam and may end up spending winters there and in my other favorite country Argentina.
As one Russian Soviet geophysicist, geologist and writer said: "The desire to wander isn`t a profession, but the inclination of the soul. It either exists or it doesn`t. Whoever have it, they can't change it. Those who don't have it, they don't need it." I don`t know for sure if people are born with this or external circumstances change them. In any case, if a person cannot change something at a given time, he can mentally change during his life. And yes, I also really want to believe that our society is changing for the better, even though it can be difficult 😅 Thank You and your new sponsor! 👍🏻 It was very interesting, including from the point of view of the current analysis of myself 🧐
Hello Alina!!! Even you may sometimes feel loneliness or uncomfortable to be staying alone in abroad, please remember you are always among us. I wish you to live your own life and make the best out of it.
My wife and I admire you so much for what you do and we love your videos so much. So glad to hear that you are taking care of yourself both physically and mentally. Thank you for sharing this with all of us. My wife and I just want to do some overseas travel, and we have learned so much from you as to some places that we may want to travel to. You are the best!
Hi Alina, A great video from your perspective as a travel youtuber. All the work that you put in so we can see your adventures and your struggles as well. Thanks again,!
I'm glad that you are honest in your struggles being a Digital Nomad. I'm a single parent of a Special Needs child. Currently I'm learning to become a Blockchain Developer and my home country is making it harder on Crypto Regulations so I'm thinking of becoming an Expat no matter how hard it could be.

I loved the video Alina! Traveling slow is something I keep reminding myself to do but it can be difficult when there are so many amazing places out there to see!
AIina I can only imagine how difficult it has been to travel regularly during Covid times. I have only done it twice since Covid and found it very stressful with PCR tests/locator forms/masked up for hours and having to keep up with the constantly changing rules so people really need to appreciate even more what you and other youtube travellers are going through to bring us this wonderful videos. Hi Alina, what a great topic! I worked in international business development and spent 10 years in Asia and Latin America between being “in-country” and in the US. After my company downsized, I spent 6 months on my own traveling across Europe and Asia. I came back to America to go to culinary school and then went on the road for a year, spending 1 month in each country. I returned to the US in 2018 to start my own business and will retire in late 2022. I totally agree with your suggestion to slow down. Everyone has a cadence that works best for them and that can change over time. Now I’m looking forward to spending a few months in each of 3 countries (Malaysia, Portugal, France) as I still have places I want to go and not sure where I want a permanent home base. I advise others to remember they can determine their own pace and adjust if it doesn’t feel right!
We totally agree with everything you said here. Travelling slower definitely helps a lot and it takes way more time than people realise to do all the behind the scenes things you need to do to get around and to create videos. We've been on the road for almost 2 years now and there are definitely pros and cons to this lifestyle.
High speed internet and I still have play issues with this video. Thank you SaskTel. Watched half of it and your thoughts on working by yourself are right on. Look forward to the rest of the video when the stars align
Hi Alina! Important content here. Mental health and wellbeing are also fundamental parts of your ongoing journey - in addition to the fantastic geography that you visually bring to us in diverse and beautiful ways! I’m happy to see that you keep on learning key life lessons from your everyday life and world travel experiences, and that you are leveraging your recent learnings to make your everyday life better, happier, and healthier. You are doing your best to create great content, but you are also taking the necessary time for yourself and your own personal needs; slowing down when necessary; and avoiding burnout. I’m cheering for you, Alina!!!
Another great video, Alina...I have not seen many travel youtubers or instagramers discuss this side of longer-term travelling. There are definitely challenges involved with being a ‘digital nomad’ but for me the freedom makes it worthwhile. Been on the road in central Europe now for 3 months and off to Lviv on Saturday, wish me luck! And keep making these types of videos.
Alina you are so inspirational love following your journey through different countries appreciate so much the time and editing to bring such happiness to us all over the world to watch Take Care from Australia.
Thank you being open about mental struggles. Glad that you are able to share your thoughts about this important subject. You absolutely correct you need to take some time for yourself and let go of stress. Alina you are strong person and love your attitude
Hoi, Alina, really interesting to follow. Done much more on the influencing part in the past. Scaled it down mainly with the health insurance reason. Absolutely good to follow you this way. Stay safe and healthy, always. Well done, you know.
Sometimes it can be difficult to be as outgoing as you need to be to get work done outside and to handle being alone back at your room. This can be true at home, but much more difficult away from home. I lived outside the US for most of 17 years from 1983 to 2000 - no Internet, minimal international phone service, but generally got home once a year.
Hi, Alina! Thank you for this sincere video! Full-time video is definitely not for everyone, but you are doing a great job! Take care! Much hugs from the Netherlands!
Hi, Nastya here. As I have gotten older now I prefer the comforts of home now but when I was younger I was travelling all over the world for many months at a time. Spending several months in a country at a time is certainly best way to really integrate yourself. I was quite happy staying in hostels and meeting interesting people from around the world. This was how I came to eventually live in Australia after I spent a year here fruitpicking in the outback many years ago.
Anyway one blogger now that I follow closely is Bald and Bankrupt. I love his confidence and ability to converse with the locals. Even though his Russian is not perfect (but getting significantly compared to a few years ) he doesn’t let it hold him back. He really shines a light on Soviet countries
Hi Alina! Great video session. Although I don't consider myself a Digital Nomad...yet, I do find myself sometimes needing to connect back to friends and family once in awhile. I was just in the states to finally hold my first grandson after 8 months of Covid bureaucracy in the countries my son was in and that was the connection I needed to clear my mind of the anxieties I had while in other countries. I am now heading to Cusco, Peru to finally begin my teaching certification and I see a lot of traveling in the near future. I have so many videos and pictures, along with stories of the amazing people and places I have met along the way that I could be a Digital Nomad. Time will tell.
I’ve enjoyed your videos and even purchased some of the cameras your using so thanks…. Also, I saw you in a great video from dating without borders you were very good in that !!! Love your content
I love that we can talk about therapy and mental health without feeling abnormal or weird. Esp. since the pandemic, this has never been more important for us to talk about our thoughts and feelings. Thanks Alina for shining a light! Lots of love from this Ontarian.
Hi Alina 👋 - Excellent tips & know that you are looking forward to 2022 when traveling should become less restrictive again. Can't wait to see where you end up ! 😃
We all suffer from loneliness and anxiety at some point or other in our lives...especially for those that live alone it sure isn't easy. I would imagine travelling alone would be even more difficult since you don't have all the comforts of your home...stay safe and take good care. Cheers from Toronto
Not your usual fare, but you explained the pluses and minuses of the "Have packed bags will travel" lifestyle. You make it look easy, but anything that looks easy to others is usually as a result of a lot of work effort behind the scenes. I have go bags mostly packed for different types of trips. When opportunity presents itself I'm now ready to take advantage of it. The biggest change I had to make was not waiting for others to go somewhere as life happens. Lots of travel never happened until I was willing to sometimes go it alone. Interesting content well presented.
I’ve always thought of you as an amazing person. Don’t know why I care so much about your well-being, except that maybe it’s because you are so genuinely friendly and transparent. My question would be: “If having money for basic living needs was not a concern, what would you really want to spend your life doing?” Would being a digital nomad still be attractive? Would you start a company - what kind? How is your current travel experiences preparing you for some other life endeavor? Is travel the end game, or is travel a means to greater personal learning and a kind of enlightenment? Sending you love, because I see the spark of divinity inside - God is applauding your remarkable soul! 🤗
Thank you. I think I would overall keep doing similar to what I am doing now except I would take more time to just rest, have more luxurious surroundings and also help others as much as I could. There would just be less pressure to make everything successful and be financially stable.
@@AlinaMcleod Thanks for the reply! I thought you might say you’d open a “Travel Consultants” and booking company, and right next door a coffee and tea shop! LOL. You may be a little too “introverted” to want to be an ambassador for world peace, and make speeches before governing bodies, but of all the places you’ve been and seen that have remnants of war machinery and memorials, I think you could certainly have feelings to be vocalized. Coming from someone who, like yourself, loves to expose the unique and also similar qualities of various peoples and cultures you encounter, would appeal to many who will listen. Your channel isn’t just a travel tips channel, but serves to foster peace and acceptance between countries. You are an ambassador, of sorts. I (and we) love you for it, sweet soul! I’d award you free coffee drinks for life, if I could, too! It’s hard work doing the road, and you deserve to rest, some luxurious accommodations, and the presence of friends and family, as you desire!!
@@davidjohnston710 she can b an advisor for travellers n nomad...but first a permanent place to operate... that's a hard one to choose... I vote Thailand.💗🙏
It's not easy that's for sure. I'm sure you feel comfortable doing something that you enjoy and something that challenges you. It's different for everyone nobody has the same experiences. Hopefully you feel more fulfilled. Good that you show both sides of things it's not all glamour and fun. Great videos. Keep it up.
Very interesting video. I must give you a huge compliment for undertaking a project like the one you are doing. Surely being a Nomad is difficult, but Digital Nomad requires a lot of energy. In all your videos that I have seen you come of as a very comfortable and a patient person. I have done quite a bit of traveling earlier on and I plan to turn in to a Nomad Capitalist. This means having businesses in several countries and having local operations in those countries. I guess this would provide a homly atmosphere in a foreign country. Once you feel at home any country will give you calmness and you wouldn't feel home sick. You build a community in each country and build friends as well. Besides this you also build business associates that make you feel comfortable and at home. The world is an oyster and be my home.
I think that travelling abroad and also working remote is very difficult and tiring, as mental and physical problems may occur,, giving some problems which can have a negative impact on the whole well-being. Anyway it takes some time to adapt to these rhythms and certainly everything will be fine. Nice video, thanks a lot
Sure, everything in life is temporary....Our bad times are temporary and our good times are temporary ...wish you the best and meet your soulmate)))))😊 Thank you for your nice videos:)
You are right on in every one of these points, Alina! I remember a time that you overworked yourself. In fact when you first shared that, it was a great inspiration to me. I think that it is great to see you pay attention more to taking personal time for yourself. It sure improves your product, even when you might feel you did not do enough. That is why you have grown, we don't expect more from you, for what it is worth, you certainly do more than we ever expect. I remember that I used to see and say myself that you need to slow down and you have, but guess what? You have made your wishes show even better because of it. Think about that, and it is also one main thing I had to learn myself. Yes, you have been that inspiration to me, I know I could never do a travel channel myself, but I do have the desire to get my own channel finished, and I have been trying to get that finished myself for me, more than anything, it is for me and I want to share what I have learned in being in business for most of my life. Yes, the Internet Marketing side is my main activity as you know, and I just want to give back the knowledge I have learned by having my own construction business for 17 yrs. before I started this Internet thing. The main focus is to share and feature all the different niches I use in staying focused first, and that is where the blessing comes in when I meet special people such as yourself. You have showed so many things to me as a person as well as seeing more of the world that I would never have if not from you & Alona! I am certainly blessed to know the special people in my life. You are tops and one of them yourself, stay safe and keep that beautiful smile. Cheers!!
Aw thank you very much, Michael! Yes I agree that sometimes we have to slow down to not only look after ourselves but also do our best work. I’m so glad you’re following your passions and know you will succeed!
(Since my initial response got erased...) I’ll begin by agreeing that spending months traveling non-stop is not for everyone. From my end, I have to check back every fiscal quarter to post reports. It’s boring, and it sucks, but it pays for months of travel abroad, so thumbs up! But in between, which is what you’re really talking about, it can, at times, get stressful depending on where one is located. Oddly, I’ve found being “stranded” in Eastern Europe to be less stressful than in Western Europe. Fiscal quarters don’t seem to be the great obstacle that they are in western finance, so tally-ho! Don’t get me wrong. There’s a lot of behind the scenes work that makes these transactions possible, but thumbs up to the system that makes this work as planned.
Oh yeah, I’m very happy to have spent most of these covid times in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. I think it has been far less stressful than North America.
It's good to hear you are making your own road and are managing yourself on your road. Tell me, how long do you plan to stay in Kharkiv? Will you use Kharkiv as a central point for exploring Ukraine?
Life's all about experience,so travel is, i envy you absolutely because of your courage and passion of travelling,Alina. loneliness's the part of life, no one can escape from it. one of the most amazing Chinese saying is that man who travels far knows more than just reading purely knowledge concept读万卷书,不如行万里路...🙌❤
Thanks once again for an insightful video Alina. Staying in one location I think was a really good tip for those that want to be a digital nomad. You got a lot of questions about your emotional well being which is important of cause. For me I am also interested in what makes interesting stories or content for you. Do you do a lot of research on the location as part of your planning or do you focus mainly on where you will be staying and allotting time and then sort of go with the flow once you get to your destination? I hope that makes sense. lol
Thanks! I do some of both depending on how I feel and what my schedule is like. Sometimes I just get an intuitive nudge to go somewhere and I end up doing research once I'm already there. But before a super big trip, I do try and do quite a bit of prep beforehand.
Another interesting video , the one question was about being alone..you might physically be but you have hundreds of viewers with you on your travels...do not stop , really look forward to your blogs ..😊😊
Hello Alina! 😄🙏👋🌟 I hope your having a wonderful marvelous day! This is a great helpful supportive advice video. 😁👍❤️👏📹💯🌟 It can be very difficult to be a Digital Nomad, It does take a lot of work. Alina, you are a wonderful amazing person and the best and greatest world traveler adventurer ever! You have inspired me and so many people to travel all over the world. I always enjoy watching your beautiful magnificent travel adventure videos. 😄👍👏✈️🌎📹🗺🥇🏆🌟 I wish you Alina a wonderful beautiful marvelous blessed day. Take care and be safe Alina. 😊🙏❤️👋🇺🇦👍🌟
Well, I work remotely from March '20, been at work from that time 3 (three!) times. But I agree that "Digital Nomad is not for everyone", I wouldn't be able to work while moving from place to place. However I would like to travel, but I would also prefer travel to be something pleasant, without work stress at all.
And it is not related to loneliness - I live alone, and even lived half year in USA, again alone. And this whole half of year I was continuously working, except for weekends and national holidays. I really appreciate the comfort which I have at home.
Yeah that transSiberian. If I recall you misread the train schedule and wound up on an old local with many stops. And lack of food doesn’t improve things. I’d say as a fan, the drama of the nighttime bike ride back from the monastery is right up there for ‘adventure’ - relief when those streetlights came into sight with people oat and aboat, home and dry.
The worst part of this lifestyle for me was/is land borders. Airports can be bad but they're under pressure to process you and you're usually near the place you were staying. But at a land border you can roll up in the middle of nowhere and they can keep you waiting for hours. Plus the staff usually live locally and they're not as experienced as people at the airport. It depends where you are of course, but if you're at a land border between two countries and you don't live in either one, shit happens, e.g. they think you're a drug dealer or a smuggler and you're forced to sit there for hours while they phone up people. I remember one time their computer system was down and they had to do it all manually which took hours. Or going through all my luggage at length, etc.
I guess it depends on a persons particular case. I've actually found land borders to be super easy, way more lax than flying. Only on one occasion have I had to open up my bag out of a few dozen. Usually you're just on a bus, the border guard comes on and takes your passports, 20 minutes later you get them back with a stamp and all good to go.
@@AlinaMcleod the difference is probably because you're on a bus. They can't easily hold up a bus, but they can hold up a car. When you come out of the Chunnel, HMRC "randomly" search all the vans. But go on Eurostar, nothing happens. Although crossing the US border on a bus or a train can be a bit stressful. Americans just seem to assume you only use a bus or the train if you're poor, so they just assume you must be up to no good. But having said that, CBSA at land borders can be really harsh. Etc. I have a lot of stories, lol.
Thanks for sharing Alina! I can relate to some extent from when I was on the road a lot in a previous job that was very demanding. Now that I'm doing my own thing for my own channel, and am a little older & wiser, I've taken a lot of similar advice to this to better take care of myself & to travel better.
Kinistino, Saskatchewan is a very dry place. The annual rainfall is only 271.0 millimetres (10.67 in). Going back to that climate must be very strange after you have lived in other parts of the world. -- What is the traveling time from Toronto to Kinistino, assuming you take a plane from Toronto to Saskatoon? -- The Wikipedia page for Kinistino could use some more information. I would like to know about the inhabitants before Europeans arrived, and would also like to know when Europeans arrived, which countries of Europe supplied most settlers, and how the Euorpeans supplanted the native people. I don't think you have time to answer these questions, but maybe you can direct me to an information source. Hmmm . . . Maybe a high school student would like to collect information from the Pioneer Museum and add the information to the Wikipedia page.
Would you ever feel comfortable sharing your financial numbers with your viewers? I work from home as an accountant & I would be really interested to know how exactly you make this lifestyle possible. How much money you need on a monthly basis, how much revenue you make from RUclips, other sponsors, & patrons, cost of living, etc. Thanks. Also, love your videos. I am hoping to travel to Ukraine next year again & also go to Russia & maybe even Siberia. Looks amazing.
Thank you! I’m not sure I would do a video sharing exact numbers but basically I’d say my average budget now is $3000 cad a month since I spend more having my own place and investing back into my channel. When I was on a shoestring budget it was around $1500-2000 and mainly staying at hostels.
Hello Alina, yes your videos as always are very informative and entertaining.I have one question for you ,that is how many $ per day do you budget for?I mean forget about which country or city.Just want your view on this.So enjoy your travels, stay safe&take care.
I'd say now it's around $60 USD per day. The main cost is getting an apartment or hotel room to yourself. If you were ok with hostels then it could be $30-40 per day, but of course really depends on the country.

That’s awesome! Hope you have a great time!
I’ve enjoyed your videos and even purchased some of the cameras your using so thanks…. Also, I saw you in a great video from dating without borders you were very good in that !!! Love your content
Very relatable. Nomad lifestyle seems great but I know I couldn't tolerate it for more than 3-4 months at a time.
I love that we can talk about therapy and mental health without feeling abnormal or weird. Esp. since the pandemic, this has never been more important for us to talk about our thoughts and feelings. Thanks Alina for shining a light! Lots of love from this Ontarian.
Well said....and getting mental health services in Ontario isn't cheap either.
Thank you and totally agree!
If you've ever consider coming to Algeria, You are quite welcome.
Hi Alina 👋 - Excellent tips & know that you are looking forward to 2022 when traveling should become less restrictive again. Can't wait to see where you end up ! 😃
Thank you Alina for sharing your experiences. I hope to know more of your stories besides travel videos. Stay well!!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
All great points. Thanks 😊
Thank you very much. There is definitely a lot of logistics involved. Being flexible is also very important.
Love your videos so much!
And that's another level of mastery in showing the link! Right on the spot! 😊
*GOD BLESS MY FAVOURITE TRAVEL RUclipsR!*
A very cool video on a positive note, Alina!❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you!
You’re welcome, Alina!
Sometimes it's great to listen to you by turning off the sound, but you can understand a lot from the expression on your face.👍👏🌹💖
Very nice video, greetings from your fan in Argentina!!
Good Advice Alina.
Stay Safe.
So happy I came across your channel❣️♥️🌹🤗
❤️❤️❤️
It's not easy that's for sure. I'm sure you feel comfortable doing something that you enjoy and something that challenges you. It's different for everyone nobody has the same experiences. Hopefully you feel more fulfilled. Good that you show both sides of things it's not all glamour and fun. Great videos. Keep it up.
Thank you!
That is very true. Wishing you the best of luck with your endeavors!
great insights. Relate a lot :)
I think that travelling abroad and also working remote is very difficult and tiring, as mental and physical problems may occur,, giving some problems which can have a negative impact on the whole well-being. Anyway it takes some time to adapt to these rhythms and certainly everything will be fine. Nice video, thanks a lot
It certainly does. Slowing down the pace has definitely helped a lot.

Watching your video for some minutes completely changed my day...thank you.

Thanks! On that note, there’s definitely so many jobs I couldn’t do lol. So it’s a good thing humans all have such a range of interests and talents.
Wow....a very cool video,Alina👍
God bless you

I traveled for a month in Greece but I got homesick on the third week. I could try it again for a month but I would have to do it different next time.
Thank you Alina for your openness and honesty. It helps that you are so articulate. Best wishes and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much!
@@AlinaMcleod From an American in Dnipro Ukraine, best wishes and you are so welcome.
(Since my initial response got erased...)
I’ll begin by agreeing that spending months traveling non-stop is not for everyone.
Hi Alina
Good and valuable tips.
👍👏.
Good vlog.
my own theory experience was very much what you describe. its been a very possible process for me.
It's good to hear you are making your own road and are managing yourself on your road.
Tell me, how long do you plan to stay in Kharkiv? Will you use Kharkiv as a central point for exploring Ukraine?
I'm looking forward to my trip to Bogpta Colombia after 5 months working on fsrm in Kansas
Thank you :)
I do feel that community support! Thank you!
Thank you very much!
Alina, you are very pretty and funny. Nothing is for everyone ! Being a woman, a CEO, being pretty ... nothing is for everyone :))))
Great info. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Good Understanding 👍
Thanks for sharing Alina! I can relate to some extent from when I was on the road a lot in a previous job that was very demanding. Now that I'm doing my own thing for my own channel, and am a little older & wiser, I've taken a lot of similar advice to this to better take care of myself & to travel better.
That's awesome :) Happy travels!
I hate saying goodbye, I always cry and don't know how you just let people live without me
Kinistino, Saskatchewan is a very dry place.
Very interesting, I’ll have to come back to it because you cover so much I want to hear and I don’t have the time this morning lol
Hello Alina, For any full time job, never forget to plan a kind of Week-end. It keeps the mind fresh and the passion for the job alive.
When I was on a shoestring budget it was around $1500-2000 and mainly staying at hostels.
love your intelligence just love your humanaty.
Considering you had a cold rainy week in Kharkiv, this could have been a live Q&A
Your video is so good and your RUclips Channel also. Your team do a good job. When shall we await new vid?
👋😇
Hej Alina, thanks for great video. Would you mind creating more similar videos connected to such topics as mental health issues?
Congratulation on the vídeo and I wish a great day
I'm flying to Kharkov in 1.5 weeks from today
Am I the only one who subscribed cause she's gorgeous
Hello Alina, yes your videos as always are very informative and entertaining.I have one question for you ,that is how many $ per day do you budget for?I mean forget about which country or city.Just want your view on this.So enjoy your travels, stay safe&take care.
I'd say now it's around $60 USD per day. The main cost is getting an apartment or hotel room to yourself. If you were ok with hostels then it could be $30-40 per day, but of course really depends on the country.
@@AlinaMcleod Thank you Alina for your input.
