Just watched this video as we have Olena and Dima coming to stay here in Stafford England due to Russian aggression in Ukraine. So good to see what a wonderful place they come from and really hope we can give them happy refuge here until they can return to their beautiful city.
I love Kharkiv, I have spent many weeks there over 6 trips to Ukraine back in 2016 and 2017. Many fond memories of the city. I have also spent time in Kiev and Odessa, I find the people in Kharkiv to be the friendliest and warmest I have ever met. Enjoy your time there Alina.
It's sad to watch this video and then see the news side by side. Really shaken up by the destruction and the loss of lives being caused in Kharkiv. This is a wonderful city, which is slowly and steadily turning into ruins. Hope peace comes back soon.
Kharkiv was the scene of not one, but TWO battles during WWII, wich makes this city unique in former Soviet union. The germans were kicked out from the city, but managed to retake it after a while, And the soviets kicked them out once again. You can imagine the ruinous state of Kharkiv after these two battles. But: The city was rebuilt, old beutiful buildings were restored, and I am confident that building workers and planners in the future will make a god job also after this third battle of Kharkiv. The great office complex at the big square did survive WWII surprisingly well, and is one of the first buildings in the world erected in "modern style". It´s competing with the parliament building in Bucarest, Romania, to be the second biggest administrative building in the world after Pentagon. The romanians use to say: "Bah! Our house has additionally 8 floors BELOW ground, you have to count them, too, if you are talking about floor space"!
Never seen Kharkiv so breathtakingly peaceful and marvelous. It's sad that the war is slowly ruining it, but even if the city was gone, I would still feel its energy wherever I go 🇺🇦

What an outstanding city. It makes you think of the towns in fairy tales... I was talking about those ancient churches at the beginning. But among those beautiful parks, even the old soviet buildings look romantic. What a beautiful place.
Thank you for sharing your journeys with us. I was born in Sri Lanka, studied in Kharkov, and now I live in Pennsylvania. Since I lived in Kharkov for 6 years in my early twenties, I have this desire to visit Kharkov again, which I never dreamed of in my youth. It gives a new meaning to the word nostalgia.

Yes, Kharkiv is an example of how to turn from the frog to a beautiful princess in some three decades. It used to be a quite grim, grey city in the Soviet times. I remember, when I was a kid, I always wanted to go through it as fast as possible, to arrive to Dnipro that looked way more attractive than Kharkiv. Now these two cities switched places - Kharkiv looks way more well-tended and cheery than Dnipro. To me, the best city of Ukraine. And I'm from Dnipro, by the way, so there's no reason to be biased. Kharkiv has a lot of places to spend time in the best way. This is industrial, trade and student (around 400 thousands students from all over the world are studying here) capital of Ukraine. Great off-screen job by Misha, wonderful Alina) Thanks for the video!

Been to Kharkiv twice, so this video brings back many good memories. Hope to visit Kharkiv again soon, and thank you for this beautiful snapshot of Kharkiv :-)
Hey, I heard flights to Kharkiv are REALLY cheap now! It's probably your best chance to go there, border-security and checkpoints are also unmanned now, so you can just drive now :D
A close colleague and a person I respect, who is a internationally well known scientist, comes from the region and graduated from Kharkov State University. Enjoyed your video and admired the place. Thanks for doing it, very well done! And it is so sad to hear what is happening now.
Thanks for showing us around Kharkiv. It brings back many memories when I went on my big trip from Turkey, Ukraine and Russia just before the Eurofootball competition that you spoke of. I was truely impressed by Gorky park then & it seems it has been improved with new rides. Lots of good food & restaurants to be found there. Ukrainians seem to love Japanese and italian food especially. Really surprised to find the Panorama lounge there. Great for a meal & then a few drinks after listening to some live music when it transformed into a bar. Club Bolero had a live band as well and had great atmosphere with a large dance floor for people to dance the night away. Enjoy your time there Alina.

Cool place Alina, and great job Misha filming & editing! I hardly even knew of Kharkiv's existence before this video & your recent insta posts, so cool to learn about a place I knew nothing about before.
Thank you,, Alina! Kharkhiv is definitely now on my Ukraine "Bucket List!") 🤗😇🦅
Awesome Kharkiv and thumbs up to cousin Misha.
Алина, спасибо за видео про мой родной город! Очень рад, что Харьков Вам понравился.
Very beautifully done! With the journey and livestream as well, it's been a wonderful trilogy of episodes about Kharkiv this weekend!
Thank you so much :)
Been to Kharkiv twice, so this video brings back many good memories. Hope to visit Kharkiv again soon, and thank you for this beautiful snapshot of Kharkiv :-)
My pleasure!
Hey, I heard flights to Kharkiv are REALLY cheap now!
It's probably your best chance to go there, border-security and checkpoints are also unmanned now, so you can just drive now :D
A very masterpiece video, Alina!❤️❤️
Thank you!
You’re welcome, Alina! You’re so sweet and beautiful!
Love you sooo much Kharkiv... miss youu 😥

A wonderful, factually accurate and very impressive ;professional presentation. A credit to you both. Thank you for you sharing))
What a lovely video! Great job to both of you and Misha for being a professional videographer and editor. Alina, I know deep down you must've been so relieved to have someone filming the video as if you have an assistant 😂😂😂 Less stressful situation than filming everything by oneself 😆
Thanks so much lovely! Yes, it’s definitely a helpful change 😅

Such a beautiful city… sad it doesn’t look nothing like that today smh. Life is crazy.
I remember when i was study in kharkiv five years ago its was like a haven sorry for what happened 🇺🇦🇮🇶
Wow, so clean and beautiful. Never thought Ukraine would be like this.
ALINA THE BEAUTIFUL IS BACK.
Thanks Alina for sharing this video giving us an idea what city is all about.
My pleasure 😊

Awesome video. Kharkiv is also famous for one of the five erstwhile USSR tank design bureaus: the Kharkiv Morozov Design Bureau.
Off course Ukraine also has Antonov aircraft design bureau as well as a specialised marine gas turbine design and production entities (Zorya Mashproekt)
Hello Alina 👋 - I really like The I ❤ Kharkiv sign. Let's you know your in a friendly place. Nice fashion by you 👌
Alina and Misha = Magic 🙂
Visited Kharkiv many times and hope to be back soon. Sumskaya Apartments is a wonderful place to stay, looking down on Schevschenko statue.
Im so saddened to realize that some of these amazing attractions would never be the same again :(

Looking Gorgeous and this upload made my day.
Within a few seconds after the start of watching, I instinctively began to look for the logo of a major TV channel, you know 🧐 This episode is made so professionally. I especially like this cool transition - 0:27 👏🏻 Btw, it looks like your personal productivity record for the number of videos in one week 😁 Big thanks to You & both Mishas! One for the great work on the video, and the other for the beautiful cathedral ✨
P.S.: And yes, our Greek cousins, please don't worry. It's just five 🖐🏻 really 😅
