Going to become a digital nomad this coming fall/winter. My specialty will be drone footage. Can you recommend places with less regulations where police won’t bother me when flying?
Hi Alina! Thanks for your concise and well-informed primer on working as a digital nomad. Many more of us are working remotely in post-COVID times, but not necessarily nomadically. One key challenge is finding one’s niche, that is finding the right opportunities and what works best for you. Happy International Women’s Day, Alina!!!
I'm just 13 years old and already thinking about being a nomad .I don't know what job I wanna do in the future. The start of the video was amazing I'm quite impressed that you know how to skateboard quite amazing btw happy women's day.
Being a digital nomad is hard, I'm trying this RUclips thing however making decent videos is very hard, reason being is a lot of motivation, skill, confidence and etc is needed. If you have decent savings/investments and can survive financially, you can try the nomad lifestyle and see whether you like it, it definitely beats working for an employer, that's for sure and I'm glad I'm not working anymore. Plus living in some countries is very cheap, especially in Eastern Europe if you like the culture and know the language. Whether long term you can sustain it, that's another story. Alina, you have definitely succeeded by putting in the hard work and being very positive from the beginning, good work and congrats. Towards 100k and beyond! :)
This video it's so cool! Thank you for sharing these experiences here. Because of these videos like this, I got inspired and just started my digital nomad experience too! thank you
This video was ranked at the top of the page for digital nomad - it's funny you mentioned the Balkans as I'm I'm travelling there tomorrow. Thanks for the information and great content!
Thank you Alina for being your own kind of beautiful and blessing your viewers with positive, uplifting, relevant & meaningful content. Happy Women's Day. PS : Loved your sassy business attire & persona. Consider one day being a News media anchor for CBS news.
Alina, I’m so blown away by your professionalism in this career choice. You certainly give validity to the career choice as more than just a hobby or vacation trip, as some might think. When you are willing to give it complete thought and time, and invest in the tools and personal development, sufficient to make it income-producing, that is some serious stuff. Have to say that your intellect is shining through. You probably just think “I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do to survive”, but you are obviously superior as an individual. I’m just amazed at how you orchestrate things and create great content! Worship!! (Yes, even though you think you’re normal.)
This is seriously a well-researched and informative video. Thank you for sharing your valuable tips and answering my question. I'm working towards becoming a business analyst with a remote work position before transitioning towards freelance, so this definitely helps. Congrats on 95k subs- only 5k more to go till 100k! Keep up the good work 👍
I totally love this video. This is what I have been looking for! I am a kind of digital nomad too, working as an online Math tutor and I just started my Math and Science channel on my youtube. It is enjoyable!
I'm suddenly went by company to first way. It just closed offices for almost all people right at March last year and we WFH since then. I moved to my hometown, but some people go to warmer places also. As I can see from inside of "IT" industry we will have kind of "new rules" this year, and for most of employees performance at least not less than from office but usually better than from office. Drawbacks which clearly seen - people tend to work more and a lot of people miss offline communication.
Great video, Alina. I was considering Safety Wing until you mentioned Hey Mondo. Sadly for an Indonesian passport holder, all of these such as Georgia Digital Nomad Visa or even regular visa to Bulgaria, North Macedonia, generally the Balkans (many others) require me to apply visa to the embassy which is a very frustrating fact to work digitally and having a limitation to my freedom of movement in the first place. Btw Estonia and Croatia have also introduced digital nomad visa, which I am sure you are already aware of. Safe trip! xx
Yes, it can definitely be more challenging depending on your citizenship :( let's hope they make the process easier and streamlined in the future for everyone.
Great video. My partner and me are so eager to get back out there after the last year+. We lived in Tbilisi for nearly 2 years and excited to travel further east this year to visit family. ✈️
'Not for me, but I'm thankful for professional people like yourself bringing wonderful travel videos ..... sometimes it's just a 15 min mini-vacation that adds niceness and rounds out my day.
currently working from home since April 2020....love it and gives so much freedom...only problem we will be forced to go back to the office eventually!
That's awesome you've been enjoying it! I know that if I worked an office job I'd prefer working from home overall than having to go in person every day as well.
Excellent facts you explained. Yes, the way a lot of us make a living is rapidly changing, and I think that is what makes the attraction even more desirable. Being involved in Internet marketing and investigations really is an exciting activity, and one thing it has really taken hold is my desire to visit other countries, hence being a strong supporter of your channel and the vast knowledge and caring heart you have, just makes it part of my days, there is the freedom that internet businesses give us the freedom to be anywhere, all we need is internet access. 20 yrs ago, it would have taken much longer to accomplish that, but as you know, when you get involved with using the internet as the heart of your activity, the sky is the limit. Happy Women's Day, Alina!!! As always, you have made a success in what you do, the best there is!!
Very interesting! You are definitely a pure digital nomad:) I am probably a half digital nomad, since I have a office but complete all the work almost outside. I wish your next journey will be successful by the way :)
Thanks for the information! I love traveling and this kind of lifestyle seems really attractive. Btw I recommend you considering a trip to China, the price of living here is relatively low compared to those western countries. And the restrictions will loose as more and more people getting vaccinated.
Completely agree with the tips you shared especially about many jobs having the potential to be remote! I’ve also been self-employed + freelancing for the last two years and couldn’t imagine it any other way!☺️
....Travel film- makers are worth their weight in gold because it's the only way you can have "boots on the ground" to see what countries are like...Several are based in Mexico & the Philippines and the videos are very informative...I rely greatly on them...
Hi Alina - You definitely earn all the 💵 you make with easily one of the best You Tube channels. You put so much care into your videos & it makes them must see. Keep on , Keeping On ! 👍
Just loving it....... I really enjoy your vlog you are simply the best. Just keep on doing what you are doing and thanks for making me to see new places through your adventures and making me to appreciate more about the beauty and wonders of the world....... God bless
Another solid video! Loved it and thanks for the practical tips! As a digital nomad myself I tend to use a external keyboard and a mount for my laptop. Would be great to see you do a digital nomad show while visiting Thailand and or Vietnam! You have to do one of Latvia and Lithuania as well! You're a star ✨!

Super Alina, sure the way to go for lot´s of people and they dont know how. Don´t forget to clear you´re health insurance, it´s a big point here. Greece offered actually an official Digital Nomad support. Done influencing withhin the airline industry since a good couple of years. So we will see what´s going on further. Well done, looking for more, you know.
Well yes I’m not in that position so I’m not going to be getting into that at this point lol. I know a few families that are expats and live in different countries full time. You have to love the lifestyle to be able to do it, but definitely possible.

Interesting to hear your inputs about how to work this way. Alina, one thing I would be interested in, interested in like very interested, is to see a video dealing with your experiences and tips about you tubing. You definitely have something useful to pump out in that respect.
The Working Holiday Visa program may also be beneficial to some to get their foot in the DN door, so to speak. It really is a country by country basis, but can be an option.
This is a really awesome video. Thank you.. I have an unrelated question. Why do you think people drink so much in Ukraine and Russia and what about the economic woes. I thought it might be weather but Canada is cold as is Sweden both have great economies and aren’t really known for drinking.
Hard to blanket statement, but of course many people drink to forget about their problems for a while and not deal with things they're scared to feel or do. That and it does become an actual physical addiction after a while since it's so commonplace to drink a lot, especially for men.
You made one mistake in my country Alina. As a RUclips star you are, you should've inquired in one of TV stations for an interview. I think they owed you one for what you did for my country giving an overall positive picture for your audience. Hopefully, you will go there one more time (spring or summertime) and do it.
Great video Alina, in addition to your list of digital nomad ideas. I found my niche in day trading stocks primarily penny stocks. You could do this anywhere in the world, just need a laptop and internet access lol. Of course you may need a good sense of investing skill, but it could be learned. So far so good 😊.
I thing Russia is economical way of going as a tourist or Digital nomad as you say some kind of stylish word.coz getting online visa to Russia is cheap and less formalities. I am learning russian on RUclips and it is not so difficult. I know little bit Hebrew too.next country is isreal. My dream is to see Jerusalem in my lifetime.
how do you convince a company to work from maldives or dubai or asia if you are employee?i think they want a location and scared you so far away. Let me know
Well that all depends on the company. You have to prove to them that you’re able to complete your work from abroad. There’s a great book called 4 hour work week that has more detailed info on convincing your boss.
World has changed. A lot of companies had this fear and in 2020 they have no choice. We will see soon what they found. I work in company which write software for contact centers used by almost all top big banks in US, Healthcare and other giants with thousands of agents across globe. Usually they use classic local building with a lot of people. In 2020 we have giant step forward from them (and not only them, but anyway). I thunk by summer we will have new rules rollout in the industry.
I subscribe to a number of You Tube travel vlogs (thanks to Covid) and I've always been curious how much one can make off of You Tube and how many 'views' one would require in order to be self sufficient from an income perspective. You mention that you are making enough money to allow you to live in a lower cost country (SE Asia or the Balkans) as well as pay income tax and possibly put away a bit for savings. Congratulations, as I know this didn't happen overnight and it took a lot of hard work over a few years, as you mentioned. Without being too nosy, I'm curious how much you rely on things like patreon and the money you make on your live vlogs as a percentage of your income (as well as potentially other income streams) vs simply what you make from You Tube views/ad revenue. Once again, sorry if I'm being too nosy but I think it is worth mentioning this in general if your goal is to provide your viewers with the most realistic perspective possible, based on this video's title.
Thank you! It has been a long journey 🙂 Patreon and lives are definitely an integral part of my income for now. With views it can really vary from month to month, but right now for an average of 500,000 views a month I’m getting about $2000 cad. So you could live on that if you chose the low cast countries and stay in hostels, but it would be much harder. That’s basically what I did my Russia trip on and it was stressful to stay in budget with things like flights from country to country, wanting your own room once in a while and not being able to really invest in gear as much. To have your own apartment when traveling, save $500+ and put away money for taxes, I’d recommend people have a budget of at least $3500 cad if they travel by themselves.
