    Great that you have an intro Christian. Really nice intro video and presentations, wonderful job!! .....Great to collect/have all of Neil's albums.....saw "Rust" in the smoke filled movie theater when it came out at a midnight showing....my first thought when I see this album. Don't have that one of Roy's, would love to get it. I am not to familiar with the heavier stuff. But Cybotron was some great aggressive electronic prog, thanks for the turn on. You might want to see my last video, you should recognize one band. Great job, just subbed. Steve

    Hi Khristian, Welcome! Very nicely done intro. Oh yes, Fred's quite inspiring to many of us. Ethio Jazz sounds quite intriguing, as does Mcdonald & Giles. Only vaguely familiar with them. Interesting story of the Cybotron connection. Looking forward to more from you. -Carm

      +Vinyl Richie Hey mate! Wow! I would give anything to see Roy Harper in his day. I have a few records of his but none of them, in my opinion, reach the heights of Stormcock. Its just so perfectly done...To my ears anyway. Cybotron are an electronic/progressive act from late seventies. check the link below to hear some. Thanks for the welcome and for watching. Looking forward to sharing some more music!!

    Noice One. Loved this, definitely a contender for best Hair in the VC. Records not bad either haha. I know all too well of the McDonald and Giles, have yet to see a reasonably priced copy. Great story about Cybotron, didn't know that!

      +James Buttery Hey man! Glad you dig! I'm not sure about the best hair but probably the most hair on the VC. (aside from Fred's face and Campos back) haha! I know that most people would have known these records but i thought to just post some classics up front. Thanks mate. Lookin forward to our next catch up. - K

      +Digestion Records Hey man! Thanks. Yep its absolutely stunning. Its funny that NY being so prolific, means the content is so vast. But Rust Never Sleeps is up there for sure. Alongside 'After The Goldrush' and 'On The Beach' in my opinion. Thanks again for watching and commenting on the video. Ill keep an eye out for your next vids:-)

    Howdy Khristian-
    Nice to see more of the Melbourne mafia in the flesh! That Cybotron story was the best...LOVE that record! Really enjoy the aussie stuffs! BTW that Sarcofagus record you showed is worth a penny or two..around $150 (usd) not bad. Anyway, very nice to meet you..Take Care. Cheers! -greg mattingly

    • @siren0547
      @siren0547  9 лет назад

      +last crate on the left Hey Greg. Thanks for the comments. Im glad someone out there knows that Sarcofagus album. I know metal isnt really popular on the VC and its really not my favourite genre either, but i enjoy them every now and again. I dont keep track of values on records, but i know its quite a 'hard to find' piece. Im happy that Cybotron is a universally known name. They are a great Australian band who only in the last few years have become known among music fans. Looking forward to sharing more music with you guys. Cheers - Khristian

    totally rollin' with the "ethio jazz" album - has been repressed a few times and is sitting in my more electronic music focused collection as well, alongside some other stuff from the ethiopiques-series.

    Hey Khristian, you roll with some of my favorite dudes in the vc, so I'm excited to hear about your collection. That McDonald and Giles is amazing. I actually prefer their songs over most of the king crimson stuff. Both are great though. I may be alone in that judgement, but that's how I feel. Cybotron is great. I haven't found any yet, but I'm on the hunt. Great first video. Looking forward to seeing more from you.

    • @siren0547
      @siren0547  9 лет назад

      +johnra 1 Hey man! Thanks for the comments and the encouraging words. Its great to feel so welcomed into such a tight group. Thanks again. I actually agree with you in that the songs from the McDonald and Giles record are a bit more interesting and probably more up my alley than some of the later KC stuff. Although, to my mind nothing beats 'In the Court of'...probably because its where it all began and i cant help but think about the innovation of that record and its music..
      Cybotron are fantastic! Im not sure how available those records are where you are, but they are fairly scarce over here too. Dual Planet have reissued them though if that interests you!! Take care man and thanks again for the interactions - Khristian

Also like Celtic,Latin,Blue Grass,Jazz,Folk and so on. I have to find that music from your intro and find it fast as I was really taken by it. Peace My Friend and Let me know if you need a hand or some idea's. Love to help out. Steve

    Real nice, I've got a French pressing of Cybotron, not on Clear light of Jupiter (or whatever Oz label they were on..). I must be the only one on here that does not dig that Neil Young - I find "Live rust" much more interesting, Cortez the Killer, Powderfinger etc. I grew up with the latter and just don't think that Welfare mothers/sedan delivery etc come anywhere near the tracks on Live rust. I know that I'm in a minority but I really find RNS to be quite overrated. Saw Roy Harper live in Cork 3 years ago, he played a stunning gig in his local folk club there ("Debarras"), featuring an echo-laden version of Me and my woman. Liked your laidback delivery, enjoyable vid!

    • @siren0547
      @siren0547  9 лет назад

      +Ben Costello Hey Ben. Thanks for the comments man. Yeah the Cybotron is great. The Rust Never Sleeps is just a record i have always come back to throughout my lifetime. Its probably not gonna appeal to everyone and yes youre right, 'Welfare Mothers' is a low point on the album. I guess its one of those sentimental records more than anything for me. NY has put out alot of stuff and like most prolific artists, not all of it is gonna be great. But RNS, though not my favourite record, is a personally significant one for me.
      Seeing Roy Harper would be an absolute treat and the 'Me and My Woman' track is probably my fav track off that record.
      Thanks again for the comments man. Im looking forward to more interactions with you. Best wishes - Khristian
