    Its the 30x30 plan. I live in Box Elder SD and the shut off the public water access without notice or recourse that my family has been hauling from for 60+ years. Governor Noem was strong in her first term, failing in her 2nd term but now she's fallen deaf. Unelected officials took our water away so we're taking theirs away. Civil discourse is key when our representative government no longer represents the basic needs of the people, like literally food and water!!!

    • @steerdup3842
      @steerdup3842 4 месяца назад

      Commifornia during the start of the covid singed an executive order for their own 30x30 plan. The environmental which are backing/pushing this want the 30% to come from private land owners which would make the Gov owning or restricted almost 80% of the state since more than 50% is already owned by a gov agency. Idaho needs to get the treasonous bureaucrats that are influenced and pushing the fed gov out. All the red states need to band together and push back the federal 30x30 plan.

      Unfortunately, both the federal and state governments are corporations that just see us as employees. The best solution is for your community to finance a community well(s) that accesses primary water. Surface water is part of the secondary water system and limited, as seen in dry years. The system likes limitations on our essentials for living and won't invest or enlighten the masses about the endless supply of primary water below the surface. Why? Because they prefer to control than be controlled...it is really that simple. And they won't stop as they want to reduce the population through any means they are capable of making happen.

    Thank you! You took the words right out of me as I live in NM. Our water storage Facility in Northern NM called El Vado lake was going to be made larger for more water storage. Work done by The Army Corps of Engineers. So, they decided 2 years ago it would be better with our modern day technologies to just rebuild the Dam and make it to hold more water, now, who scraped those plans indefinitely? I am a Senior Water Right user from the Rio Grande River. A hobby vegetable disabled farmer that only still has to use a shovel. As I have no tractor. Food stamp farmer at that. After processing the food for our own winter needs, I take my excess to a local foodbank and donate it. I don't do Grower's markets. My last irrigation was 06/15/24. The extreme heat has killed the last 3 years. Potted plants and seed are expensive. I grow using Organic methods. The last 3 years our water has been stopped. Last year we got cut off and my last cut of Alfalfa died. I used to get 4 cuts a year, Last year I got 1 and a half. Also donated. The person who cuts, rakes, and bales it, gets to keep it. The Indians always get the water no matter what, Senior users get it 2nd if there is enough. The Water Bank are 3rd users have not had water in 3 years.
    Ask a child "Where does your food come from"? They reply "Walmart". Really? Wish Moms and dads would go buy some seeds and plants and teach their children where their food comes from. You don't need a gym membership if you're a Farmer!

She raised us like her family was raised during the Great Depression of the 1920's in the Panhandle of Texas. If we got a Christmas Card with a 5 dollar bill, we were happy. We didn't get toys like the neighbor kids got. Birthdays the same. My mother taught me at the age of 12 how to plant vegetable seeds, water them then can them for Winter. There were local farms in our NM city that sold produce (today the land is a Walmart Store). We could buy a 20 pound box of Tomatoes for 5 bucks then go back home and she showed us kids how to can tomatoes, Mason Jars, caps and lids, water bath. dash of salt in each jar. Sure, miss that today. She taught how to make jams, jellies, syrup from fruit, We canned our winter food supply. Not many people do that today because those farms became subdivisions. In High School in the mid Seventies, I had a classmate whose family planted a garden in their front yard instead of grass and their dad raised rabbits in the back yard. That rabbit pelleted manure is the best fertilizer too.

    All of the surface water is managed by the government here. We couldn’t even (legally) collect rainwater without permits until just a few years ago, and it’s only up to 100 gallons that you don’t need a permit for now.
    I know that Idaho has had much more lenient water usage rules, and I know Idahoans who leave their sprinklers running for an entire day just because they can.

    This is one reason we all need to get involved and ask the right questions to make sure that the farmers have the water resources they need. Please contact your local politicians and ask them these questions ask the questions that really need to be asked and call you local and state reps with the questions. Which state and local reps have shares in Idaho Power and how much would they have made if the curtailment would have went through? How much would have the guy in charge of the water department in Idaho made? How much is the head water guy getting from environmental lobbyist to curtail water in the name of saving the aquifer? Which state and local representatives were funded by Idaho power like Ben Fuhriman. Why did they choose one of the biggest water years in a long time to try to push the BS agenda? And why is Stephanie Michelson who’s son and husband are both presidents of canel companies have so much say in what is going on in south east Idaho water? Why has she been the main negotiator with the twin falls canel company and what has she accomplished in the years she was supposed to be doing this job? Why does Idaho power and the twin falls canel companie have the same lawyer and how much does the twin falls canel company get from Idaho power to push the same agenda? And if our aquifer is as big as Lake Erie why are they so worried about it right now? And if the water curtailment worked and the farmers had to sell who was the buyer of the land going to be? Why are our local and state politicians supporting Idaho power when the parent company is owned by vanguard and blackrock. There comes. Point when coincidence can not longer be ignored. These are just a few of the questions that should be asked that on one is answering.

    Let me give some insight from a guy who has lived in Southern California my whole life (61 years). My opinion is that this is about future real estate development for population growth which will bring in additional tax revenues as well. Idaho is a great State unlike California which used to be great but is now a disaster. A lot of people have already moved to Idaho and many more plan to move to Idaho. The State has to do long term planning, 20-30 years out. I think this is part of that planning.
    There was a lot of farm land in Southern California and they eventually sold out to real estate developers because the children did not want the farms and did see a lot of money for the land. I am not saying this is wrong or right, it is just part of what happens when progress shows up.
    We saw it happen here in the 1970's and 1980's when everyone wanted to live in California. Just don't let the Democrats get power or it is over. I have family in Idaho Falls that I visited in 2020 and 2022. I can see progress knocking on your door. Best wishes to all of you.

    UPDATE June 19, 2024: Water Curtailment Order lifted (Idaho Press)
    Groundwater irrigators and surface water irrigators have completed a deal that saves 330,000 acres of Idaho farmland from being dried up and averts economic catastrophe in the state.
    A mitigation agreement for 2024, brokered by Governor Brad Little and Lt. Governor Scott Bedke, has now been signed by all parties and has been submitted to the Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR for approval. When the deal is approved, IDWR will lift the curtailment for all nine ground water districts whose patrons irrigate with groundwater from the ESPA.
    “This is a huge relief to our members, who have had their livelihoods threatened over the past month,” said TJ Budge, attorney for Idaho Ground Water Appropriators. “We want to thank Governor Little, Lt. Governor Bedke, Senator Van Burtenshaw and, especially, all of our groundwater district members for their sincere and significant efforts to get a deal done before it was too late.”
