I love your videos and the fact you use public transit or walk to places. That to me is the adventure. You and Steve Marsh are my two favourite travel vloggers. Thanks for such great content.
That sign warning about the waves after the ferry was because of the wake of the Stena HSS ferry when it was on the irish sea loved travelling on that ship
It occurs to me you need a Brompton bicycle for visits like this so you can take it folded on the buses and then cycle to the hotel. It might open up a bit more travel to get to those post card view points (apart from cycling up crazy hills in Largs of course!)
My wife and I stayed there in 2022 and found it the perfect place to wind down and enjoy great food. The unusual perspective of watching the 5 fingers of light from the lighthouse at night swinging over the dark view towards Belfast was unforgettable. We do intend to go back to recharge our batteries some day. Thank you for sharing this visit Scott!
Great video, a return to form. No silly UV stick checking for invisible dirt in case you want to eat your tea under a sink👍 I think we all had that mystery non COVID illness so sympathy with you there, hope you didn't get the accompanying cough too.
Scott what a wonderful video its looks like Stunning plus your video is very good 👍 for the hotel and im sure the owners of the hotel would have been very appreciative our your comments kindest regards Paul in Kent
I knew instantly Scott meant you Steve 😬! I noticed the year 1815 on the Wall of the Lighthouse! Another very important event happened that year! The Laphroaig Distillery on Islay was founded that year! Thank God and Christ 😘!
Enjoyed your Corsewall Lighthouse Hotel video, Scott, and had to laugh out loud as you "refrained" from pointing out that you were one-upping your RUclips compatriot and lighthouse enthusiast Steve Marsh. 😅👍
Also, that sign about waves from passing ships, I wonder if that dates from the time when there was a high speed catamaran on the Belfast route? Stunning scenary as everyone says, so thank you for the trip.
Thank you Scott. I thoroughly enjoyed the entirety of this video. I thought of making some comments on different sections of the program, but then thought I'd put that on hold until I viewed it again, and maybe again..........
I love your videos Scott, I’ve been watching for years, loving seeing you doing bucket list stays - you deserve it! .. I kind of want to stay in a light house now 😅
What a wonderful hotel. Great video as always - informative, honest and witty. It's nice to watch videos about unusual places/buildings that many of us might never know about.
Fabulous vlog!! Always enjoy tour travels but this was outstanding! Incredible hotel and absolutely wonderful surroundings!!! The walk to and from was even great. Perhaps not with inclement weather though!! Thanks for this journey where the destination Was the highlight!!!₩
What a beautiful situation, very peaceful, and the hotel has been tastefully renovated. I'm sure that Mrs Scott would have liked it, but maybe not the long hike to get there!
I've been fortunate to stay there twice. First time in 1999 during the foot and mouth crisis, second time in 2003 with some friends. Both stays were amazing and I do remember the evening meals back then were almost Michelin star level, no idea if that is still the case, but they were excellent.
Stunning views, something really tranquil and peaceful about that area. The hotel itself wasn’t gimmicky as I was expecting and actually looked really cosy. I’d imaging it’s the kind of place you would get to know other guests. Fantastic find
That was an amazing journey. The lighthouse hotel Itself looks idyllic and the setting couldn't be better for it. Thanks so much for this really enjoyable trip and great video!
I stayed at the hotel last year, great hospitality and fantastic food, the dinners are excellent. I have an ambition to return when there's a gale blowing! The rooms to the front have amazing sea views. NB there is a set of external stairs to the upper floor which aren't quite are tight as the spiral staircase but obviously still limit who can access.
I just came across your review on Travel lodges earlier, Watched this and I'm subscribing. Could you please tell me where you got your torch and light please ? 😊
Good evening Scott, what a truly amazing place to stay. Your bedroom looked lovely and the views were beautiful, certainly a very unique experience, I really enjoyed this video, thank you.😊
Thank you for an absolutely superb video which had me on the edge of my computer chair. As a bus enthusiast, may I apologise to you for the bus stop muddle at Stranraer. I am afraid that the problem, Where does my bus go from?, occurs in lots of places in deregulated Britain.
Fantastic vlog Scott, I am from Stranraer but live in Norway now so it is always nice to see the toon.....btw, we used to go on school trips to that lighthouse
No mention of your evening meal? I only take notice of hotel/restaurant reviews up to a year old, even in that time a lot can change; refurbished rooms can start to get tired, scruffy rooms might have been refurbished, management and staff might have changed as well as chefs and menus. You and your fellow lighthouse enthusiast make great videos.
Very interesting indeed. There is something about lighthouses that stimulates my passion for the past. They played an important role in the safety of ancient mariners who braved the seas in primitive vessels, but the lighthouse keepers were also a breed of their own too. The ships are now much stronger and powerful. The lighthouse keepers are replaced by technology. However, the lighthouses still stand proud and rock solid. A somewhat romantic connection still with harder but gracious years gone by. Thank you, Scott for a great video!
Thanks for this amazing video , think I just might check out that hotel as it looks so impressive, clean, comfortable, fantastic views and yummy looking breakfast.
Great content. I was happy to see that photo of the Bristol Steam Navigation ship. I used to work for that company in the late 60s on the MV Dido. Great memories. Keep up the good work. 👍
I also stayed just outside Kirkolm one night- on the old airbase where the Sunderland sea boats were based during the war. That was an interesting spot.
YES I DO love lighthouses and YES I AM jealous :D
I thought as much 🙂
Have you booked it yet?
🤣🤣🤣
Thought of you as soon as Scott said it Steve! 😅
Can't believe Scott beat u too it Steve, I guess that is 2-0 to Scott now, LOL 😅😊😊
When a Scot tells you, "I can not believe how cold it is ".... yeah it is time to go inside ...Nice video
Beats the hell out of Travelodge. That place looks amazing.
Well done for beating Steve Marsh to this fabulous place. I can see him doing a review before long. xx
I love your videos and the fact you use public transit or walk to places. That to me is the adventure. You and Steve Marsh are my two favourite travel vloggers. Thanks for such great content.
I quite agree, I love to watch Scott, Steve and Alicja.
I liked how he went for an explore after his long walk . This guy is seriously fit !
I love everything about the hotel, except the 5 mile walk!
You have an enviable life Scott. Travelling around the world with only a passport and your toothbrush.
The “Jack Reacher” of the travel industry.🤣
lol , i can easy imagine oor Scotty as Jack Reacher 😊
Look after yourself Scott, keep up with the videos, from another Scott 👍
Beautiful lighthouse
Yes nice to see public transport being used particularly Bus. Use it or lose it!
@16:58 Absolutely stunning 😍
A brilliant video 👍
It's the coolest hotel that I've ever seen. No wonder For the tranquillity lovers it stands as the best choice to stay.
What a lovely and quirky place to stay.
Excellent
That sign warning about the waves after the ferry was because of the wake of the Stena HSS ferry when it was on the irish sea loved travelling on that ship
I am a subscriber. Scott, I hope you reach 50 thousand subscribers by the end of January. 🌨🌨❄❄❄❄☃❄❄❄ Or sooner! 🩵
Looks like a fantastic place to stay i might take the motorbike over from Northern Ireland to stay there
It occurs to me you need a Brompton bicycle for visits like this so you can take it folded on the buses and then cycle to the hotel. It might open up a bit more travel to get to those post card view points (apart from cycling up crazy hills in Largs of course!)
Thanks!
Wish you'd asked to see the room you originally booked too. As the only guest, there's no-one else to disturb.

I might give that a try one day. It looks great. It looked especially appealing during a spell of nice weather in winter as well :)
Thanks Scott that was a very enjoyable video I didn’t even know Corsewall Lighthouse even existed 🙄
I adore lighthouses...that room looked fab, and the breakfast 🎉 delicious....
Haggis for breakfast? 🤔
Breakfast looked great! But I must say I was curious about dinner too. The place setting looked lovely.
Scott what a wonderful video its looks like Stunning plus your video is very good 👍 for the hotel and im sure the owners of the hotel would have been very appreciative our your comments kindest regards Paul in Kent
Lovely to see that you walked past a sign for Leswalt, home to my ancestors. McNeil is their name, they still farm there.
Fantastic vlog . I have always wanted to stay in a lighthouse.
I knew instantly Scott meant you Steve 😬!

Now we have to add ANOTHER place to our bucket list! We love D&G!

Your best content is vids made in Scotland (and then the rest of the island) in my personal opinion. Love the place!
Scotland is so beautiful. If I would be living there, I would make long walks and trips in my own country as well.
What did you do for dinner the night you arrived? I would have loved to see what the original room you booked was like. Your upgrade looked lovely.
I love your videos Scott, I’ve been watching for years, loving seeing you doing bucket list stays - you deserve it! .. I kind of want to stay in a light house now 😅
Stunning Scott, really loved coming along with you on this one 🥰
