the low fidelity modules are amazing for the beginning DCS player. I think loads of RUclipsrs put way to much emphasis on the higher fidelity modules that new players feel pressured to immediately jump to something like the f18. When starting it is great not to have to pay any attention to all the systems and control and just learn to fly the plane. Great video.
Great video! I love the Su-25T! I don’t fly it anymore, but, enjoy seeing it do its magic. Learning the systems is the easy part. Learning to fly is the real time sink, if you’re new to flight sims, The amount of control needed to fly formations, air to air refueling, etc. only comes with a lot of practice.
I have the low fidelity f15c and the high fidelity f/a 18 but there is something about the frogfoot that keeps me coming back. I think I just love that you actually have to fly it and it doesn’t just do whatever you want like some of the higher performance airframes. Plus there is just something about the way it looks thst hits me in just the right way… I’d say the su25 and the f4 are my favorite airframes of all time! Just love the no nonsense look of them both!
35h in nice weather, lool, because as soon as you fiddle with the weather menu in the mission creator, it all goes out the window. start adding some wind, all your landings go to shit with crosswinds until you figure out rudder. add some broken/overcast low cloud base, adios smooth ground attacks. and so on. also, this is a flight simulator like no other. it's as close to flying the real thing as you can possibly get at home. it's not an arcade game you casually boot up for a stroll. so any previous experience as a 'flight simmer' is not really worth a lot in the case of dcs. If you were a IRL pilot, that would help a lot though. but that is way more than 35h on steam, lol.
hahah idk who you are but random youtuber not unfamiliar with flightsims and vr, made a better newcomer minded video than any of those fancy trailers you seee all over youtube on DCS, its not bad, it's pretty good actually, despite the current tensions with their most loyal fans, so good for sure but more as an aviation sim than a game, and that's me just speaking from the mostly from a gamer's perspectove xD and a gamer that feels nostalgic about Microprose, is used to be Microprose dude, not Microsoft! lmao
I'm not sure where you where going with this video. Was it to show excitement of your progress, complaining about how long it is taking, or a warning to others? Like you said, this game is basically like a simulator with the majority of the systems in these aircraft intricately modeled. To put things in a little perspective, it takes a minimum of 40hrs to get your private pilots license. To expect to learn how to fly an aircraft, radios, weapons systems, procedures, DCS settings, and key binds in less time than it takes to get your PPL is a pretty big expectation. I'm sure military pilots are not considered experts in their aircraft after just 40hrs of seat time. To save some time and aggravation, I use the provided tutorials to get down some of the basics, like take offs and landings. I'll give credit where credit is due. If you can accomplish all of that in 35hrs, you've got talent. If I was to put a warning out on DCS it would be that if you like this game, be prepared to spend some money! It can be addicting. I've been playing for 4 years now, and have never gotten board with how much there is to learn and do in this game!
"Flying a Fighter jet is easy, utilizing it as a weapon takes skill" - Some random air combat instructor I had while in the air force.
Finaly a quality DCS vid with no paid modules that make it misleeding . Overall W vid, I think more vids like this are needed in the DCS community!
Thank you for the kind words. 🙏

first module i bought was the hornet and it was rather easy to learn, i find the FC3 F-15 and SU-33 to be harder to fly than the hornet
“A lady started screaming at you in Russian…”! 😂
I’ve got well over 100 hrs into learning f/16c, DCS in general and haven’t even downloaded the game yet.

@@MawgGames My dream is a full fidelity Su-25T, I really hope they do it someday.
spent 2 hours setting up the controls for my f-14b
i started dcs with the f16, about 50 hours in and just learnt the theory
Bro you are so underrated whatt
i bought the hornet after flying the frogfoot for about 2 hours, hornet was so easy to set up and learn
very good perpective of it..nice video

Very nice, good Vid. Greetings from Fred Connor
This is why its called a learning sim. :)
Excellent video. Mind sharing the song at 0:35? I find your music choice to be great
It’s actually an original song made by my son when he was 10 or so!
I’ll add the link to it in the description of this video.
@@MawgGames That's actually amazing! I'm a huge music nerd and your son is really talented. Kudos to him

Damn. I got 410 hours as of writing this. I think I need to get a life.
4.5k. I gave up on life, DCS in vr is better.

I think the point of the video is to show what your first 35h in dcs could look like, I think it’s entertaining!
