Nah, not in America. If they were British, they'd get much more mainstream recognition. We appreciate more original and rougher music rather than the generic over produced classic rock that Americans love.
It warms my soul seeing Tim and Matt, who have known each other since they were 5, still embracing their music and friendship. OP Ivy and Rancid have always been there for me; it's bliss and a delight seeing and hearing their music bringing light into these dark times. Rancid 4 ever.
I couldn’t imagine taking my dog for a walk in Berkeley and rolling up on Tim and Matt jamming next to the bay singing this. I would just sit on the rocks back there and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience.
WOW!...as a drummer I have always admired the guys that can just sit anywhere with guitar in hand and tell a story in the form of a beautiful song watching Tim do it here ya can almost see the souls of strummer and cash smiling above him.... respect from NYC ✌️
Don’t forget Mike Ness he picked Tim up when he was in a bad place one night hammered and “eating dirt” and told him to take care of himself. Tim and Mikes music has done that for me in my life.
East Bay Night has inspired me to buy a guitar again at 62 y/o and a 40 year sabbatical..😮. Struggling like hell with it but determined to do this great track justice.. Tim and Rancid are always top of my playlist...thanks for the great music guys!
@@bryanjones4845 that’s definitely a new thing Lmao for about 20 years Matt was the one that always looked like her was gonna kick your head in if you bothered them. But in a good way.

I heard that people who noticed it's him didn't allow to get close to him cause filming that Fender guitar was in progress, that's why Fender chosed midnight for filming when there were only people and cars around to get a clear sound, minimize the noise and avoid uncontrollable sounds from surrounding.

Damn Tim…. hearing your voice brings me back to my teenage years. You still got it man. Your voice sounds exactly the same over the years. Love you and rancid!
I have such a special place in my heart for this old punk. I'll never forget seeing them live in '95. We had to have our moms drive us to the show we were so young, but it was magical.
I grew up with these guys and I grew old with them and I still feel that same awww of them when I see Tim playing with Matt. I wish we could stay young forever...
Christopher MONDRAGON congrats kiddo I’m your dad now, you’re the best thing that has happened to me, keep going you’re doing great, don’t do drugs, drink water and go to bed at a decent time
@knock listen to operation ivy energy album. Probably top ten important punk albums of all time. You'll see what this guy means to music. Then give a listen to Rancid. Tim wrote most of the music for both.
Tim IS the best living songwriter since anyone who came up in the 70s. I’d put him on a level with Waits if it didn’t make me fight myself. The man is and continues to be a genius, he’s never asked for or looked for recognition, just continued chipping away for those who’ll listen. He’s a legend in the flesh and I absolutely love him. But that’s just my opinion, man ….
I lived in the east bay in the 90s and 2000s. The Albany landfill where I'm pretty sure this was filmed was an interesting place to explore. All of the funky art, from the graffiti to the weird concrete structure built on the shore were reminders of what a special place the Bay Area can be. A place where souls shine and bleed.
People walking by Tim playing on the sidewalk thinking he’s boozer, a loser, another flunky, just a junkie trying to get a fix. But those people don’t know Rancid’s music has been there for me on my darkest nights and best days! Thanks Tim, Matt, Lars, Brett, and Brenden 🤙🏼
