Must be the best intro to a song in the last decade. For real, the effect on the voice, the velvet fuzzy synth bass (or whatever it is). It sounds like you're taking off.

Ever so grateful that I got to listen to this album all those years back and to see her live set during this era. But this song, this song's something special to me, it refuses to leave my mind. She created a timeless, crushing yet beautiful thing here and I'll always "hang on it", so as to say :)
The pain lurking behind this simple little pop song is incredible.

How she is not well known is strange to me. Her music is the best thing I heard in years.

I love this woman’s music! And like most successful artists you can hear their musical influences pop up into their songs now and then. I may be off on this but I’m hearing a touch of Tori Amos in this beautiful piece of music.

@Mr. Z I love the talking heads saw them in 1979 and I know they collaborated. I love Tori Amos’ music but she’s not everyone’s cup of tea that’s for sure. At least we can agree Annie Clark is a musical goddess and a monster guitarist! ✌🏻
@Mr. Z I never heard that she recanted her rape story. I was always under the impression that she was actually raped. I can understand why you don’t think highly of her for that reason. I will do a little research and see if she has an explanation why she would claim something like that if it wasn’t true. She does a lot of charity work for an organization that I donate to monthly, it’s called RAINN (Rape, abuse & incest National network).
St Vincent has grown into a mix of Annie Lenox and Fiona Apple except she definitely stands out with her own unique talents. Her SNL performance was AWESOME! Anyone know if her "Daddy" jacket will be an item for sale at her concerts coming soon? I'd claw my way up Mount Everest to get my hands on that jacket!
