- Sauber have cut Robert Kubica's 2008 F1 car in half! The team, now lead by Nico Hulkenberg and Esteban Gutierrez invited Rosanna Tennant to check it out.

Every single fucking time she pointed out something and said "If you take a look over here..!", the cameraman just stood there with the dick in his hand and refused to move an inch. Sometimes they did a cutaway to it, sometimes they didn't. Annoying as shit.

Easy: dismantle the car down to each individual part, cut each part indidually (using various processes and techniques) and re-assemble... Well, that's how we did it... ;-)

You gotta be kidding?! Her favourite part is the rain light? The camera was on her 90 percent of the time, while describing the cars parts. It was a nice attempt, but it was about her and her mini skirt, not the car. Annoying.

Sure did or I wouldn't have commented. What am I wrong about? I'm not trying to bash her, I think this did a disservice to her as much as the tech of the car. It was a bubblegum sound bite about something incredible. It didn't need the fluff. She's probably a good presenter and the car is amazing, so why dumb it down so much.....?

I don't think it was her. She was doing what the director told her. Ted Kravitz does good, serious, entertaining F1 stuff. Without champagne, miniskirts or fluff like that. It was badly done, female presenter or not. That's all I'm saying.

It is a "BMW Sauber F1.08" chassis, correct. Sauber developed and built the car (chassis, suspension, aero, etc.), BMW the powertrain. And yes, it was Sauber who did the cutting...
Basically it's now a Formula 0,5 car.

wood in a f1 car
If you were unsure it's a scrape plate for the car to avoid metal on road contact. The wood is lightish and cheaply replaceable. Modern hypercars and modified sports cars sometimes use a similar thing
I'm gonna shock you. Wood can be used in aerospace to make atmospheric reentry heat shields. Never underestimate wood!

There is actually wood in a modern F1 car...WOOD. Genuinely didn't know that wood had any applications in these high precision machines.
It's so the fia can measure the thickness of it before and after to see if you are bottoming out loads. If you are then the wood is much thinner at the end of the race and you can get disqualified. They also have titanium sliders which create the sparks you see.
i think it is called jabroc or something like that. some sort of composite material. saw a close up picture of a section once and it almost looked like some kind of fiber material. with wood infused at some point.
I think they use Titanium on the bottom now !

You couldn't back in a day today we have George Russel and he's 185cm all cockpits have to fit drivers 1.83 tall as least most drivers are smaller because its just easier for them to achieve lower weight and that's important.

This is so cool. When I was younger, I had the opportunity to drive in an F1 simulator. One of the greates experiences of my life. It's cool to see the pedals and how close the seat is to the floor. The driving position looks so comfortable as well. I saw Hamilton showing the position with tires on the Mercedes Channel :)
