    This a magical interview.
I cannot buy Glenallichie here where I live...But, I have been able to find some Billy Walker era Glendronachs...It is very interesting to see the whisky world turn its focus on Glenallichie and away from Glendronach since Billy made the switch....He is a mighty force in the galaxy...

Glad I caught up with this stream, even if it's a year late. I will definitely be picking up a Glenallachie soon. You get such a warm fuzzy feeling when holding a bottle that has the full ABCD right there on the label!

You deserve a medal or award for bringing Billy Walker to us. He is without any doubt one of the greatest whisky entrepreneurs of all time. Such a wonderful person on top of all that.

Nice words Cliff, and I'm sure he'll be chuffed that his time with us wasn't wasted. I enjoyed hanging off his every word. He creates something that's way more than a product, and I get the impression he's aware of that. Thanks for joining my friend.

Probably the best stream from probably the best whisky channel in the world. Definitely not the easiest quiz though.

Roy thank you for the great education. Getting to know the legends of the industry like Billy Walker, Fred Laing, Charlie MacLean, et al. As a Scotch enthusiast from the States these men and others were unknown to me until I became part of this channel. Thank you for enriching my whisky journey. Never have been so proud of my Scottish heritage. Slainte!!

Billy Walker is tied with Ralfy for Aqvavitae guest I most want to share a dram with ... and I'd argue that's saying a lot considering Charlie McClean, Daniel Whittington, Gordon Dundas, Roddy Graham et. al. are tied for second. Mr. Walker offered some amazing insight, so I thank him and you, Roy, for bringing him to us. And Billy gets credit for creating the phrase "peated rum" (holy cow!!!). Cheers!

Haha! Thanks Robert - yes I'm intrigued about the peat-cask rum too. all of the guys you mention can bring different inspirations and they're here because I love listening to them, I'm glad you do too!

1976 Benriach. I fondly remember spending the endless summer of '76 in Elgin where we lived next door to a field of sun-kissed barley at Bishopmill. I`m not surprised '76 vintages are so good.

Fantastic live show Roy. So happy to see that the titans of the industry are recognising that we are here. Was working during the show and am so happy that Billy was able to answer my question that I put in at the end of the show. These crazy times are bringing us together in amazing ways in that the malt Whisky industry is acknowledging that the WhiskyTube community is a group of people that are a big consumer of there products and influenceers to others. Cheers!!!

Thanks Tim, glad you enjoyed it! In many ways, this is the golden time for RUclips, growing fast and attracting attention, but still not overrun with bores, know-it-alls, trolls and snobbery. I'll try my best to be part of the community that keep it like that. Always great to have you in and I hope you're keeping well and that your daily work remains safe for you. Cheers buddy.

I love the spice that you get from bourbon. It is great that you have worked your magic at multiple distilleries. I wish they would hand you the keys to lagavulin so you could work your magic and get it at 46 abv.. It is whisky produced the right way and for the long run thanks for your magic.

Funny enough Billy bottled GlenDronach 12 at 43% ABV & unchillfiltered. Would have been interesting to ask him why...

Great stream as always @aqvavitae! Question for you; I hear this phrase around the community every now and again and I believe even you have uttered it a couple times in reference to sherries whiskies. This idea of “modern” or “now” Sherry bombs. What’s the differentiator? How does the “old style” differ? Apologies for the potentially naive question.

Fantastic Vpub as always Roy! Question for you/the group however; does anyone know which batch BW is referring to when he suggests picking up “the latest batch” of the 12yr? I’m assuming a 2020, but I don’t know their bottling schedule.

My favorite tins are not flashy...I care only about the whisky.
Please do not spend money on fancy marketing and short change me on whisky.
    I am a grown man..
That said...I do love Douglas Laing regional blends and the Classic Laddie blue bottle...
