Pamela's a lovely lady. I think Billy meeting her was meant to be. They are a great couple. I suffer depression and suicide attempts, due to a similar form of abuse that Billy suffered. When I went to see my doctor he asked if I had any coping strategies for when I feel suicidal. I told him I have every Billy Connolly DVD, and if I can get to putting Billy in my DVD before the Stanley knife, Billy stops me. He has saved my life so many times. This interview with your wife is beautiful the both of you are better with each other, the understanding you both have is incredible great interview to remember Thankyou
I was one of those cigar men, many years back in Los Angeles, who shared Cigars and stories with Billy. We talked about any and most everything, laughing to the wit that flowed in the small group of regulars. That store has long been closed and gone, but sharing the stories and laughs lives long-on.
I so love this man! The most endearing human being in the world! I met him once in Edinburgh and the warmth in his face and smile just hit me. I never had that experience again.
He is such a wonderful person. Knowledgeable of life beyond belief !! I've always enjoyed Mr. Connoly, as a comedian and actor !! He's just got such a outlook on life that is so real !! Hope he's feeling well !! Luv Ya !!
That was absolutely incredible. Easily the most disconcertingly and uncomfortably amusing, heart-warming, candid video I think I've ever seen between a married couple.
One of the most remarkable interviews I've ever listened to. It dug into some of my past that I've struggle with for years, until I came to terms with it, very like Mr. Connolly. His perceptions and truths are spot on and I shall listen to this from time to time, just to remind myself that generosity of spirit makes us all the better for it. In my mind Billy Connolly is a national treasure. Bravo Pamela and Billy!!
God bless Pamela and Billy, and their life and love. Thank you, Pamela, for loving Billy so well. You're exactly the right mate. Thank you, Billy, for being relentlessly yourself. Your partnership is a joy.
I love his wise and positive philosophy of life - the bit where he discusses tastes and ideas is genius. Life is not so much a dichotomy of good and bad in that sense but instead it is just things you like and things you just don't "get". Perfect.
Just an incredibly beautiful personality - and heartbreakingly resilient. I am so glad you came through those dark times, Billy - and made a lot of people incredibly happy to share a few hours with you over the years. Been a privilege and a huge pleasure to live through your entire era so far. ✊🏼

I'm 57. Billy Connolly is the most inspirational man of all of those who have had an effect on my upbringing. he makes me laugh until the pain is unbearable, but he also seems to read deep into my soul in a way that only Morrissey in his time with The Smiths comes close to replicating. God Bless you Billy, the most important man to me that I never met.
I love you both! I can't believe how similar Billy and I are. I at 50 still haven't let go or been able to cope with a tragic and tortured childhood. I've been working on healing myself more lately. But I fear there isn't time left to find peace. Billy YOU give me hope and inspiration. Thank you
tis nothing new to anyone who reflects on life without the symbols of torture , single no community motherhood for virgins, fathers who tell you they are god how can anyone see truth if those symbols are steel in your head and body!
Billy is an absolute gem - incredibly rare and unique. Billy and Pamela are an amazing couple. There is a lot of mutual respect between them. Love Billy's insights into this mad, chaotic world and existence!

What a man , what a lady and most of all what a couple , i grew up in the Sixty s in a 2 up 2 down and life was and is exactly how Billy describes it , i was so lucky my dad was the kindest man in the world but it wasn't until he was in his 70s he told me he loved me , But i just knew he did , i went to footie with him , i went on the back of his motorbike to his allotments with him , the pub , so i knew he loved me to spend so much time with me . From the very first concert i went and saw Billy perform to this day , he s always made me feel proud to be working class , ive always held my head up high when im in places i look out of place , And every beating i took from my mother i felt made me a better person because i knew how to treat my kids , because when things got tough i never hit them because i always remembered how i felt , but what i did do was teach them what was right and wrong so they could understand , im so proud to say i now have 7 gkids , Billy you will always be a little below my father, but you will always be one of my heros thou you dont know me from adam 💙👍

I have always felt a connection with billy, never understood why. I am from Glasgow and used to dog it form school around king George the fifth docks, walked home through Partick. I was the guy who thought the drunk on the buss sitting behind me, had vomited in my hood...aw naw...now I see that's not it, our lives growing up are almost identical but where as I became introverted he seems to have used it to become stronger ... a true hero! thank you Billy, don't forget your wellies!
I loved this interview in some places it made me cry others full of laughter I also hate Brussel sprouts yuk and as a child refused to eat them in school dinners in England I even after not being allowed to go out to play one time at school until I ate them I had to bring the plate back to my desk after lunchtime but in the end of the school day I WON and took the disgusting crap to the school kitchens on my way home. I think you are the funniest man alive thank you for all the years of laughter and I can still laugh at the same jokes now I have turned 70. Thank goodness you married exactly the right person who apart from the fact she obviously loves you deeply but can also help you mentally with discussions about your childhood etc. Thank you
Love billy. What a glorious character. Always cheers me up to listen to him. So upset his health is not so good lately but I'm sure he's making it an adventure.
Billy, to me, is someone who owns the courage to be truly himself, come what may. He is, as we all are, unique. His gift for shining a bright light on darkness and a sense of humour that shows up political correctness for exactly what it is will endear him to me for the rest of my life. To be true to myself by BEING myself, every day, for the rest of my life would be the greatest tribute I could possibly give to any other human being on the face of this amazing planet. Thank you BILLY CONNELLY for such a wonderful gift.
Lovely man. He used to frequent a coffeehouse in Studio City, quite happy not to be TOO famous here, and to talk with just about anyone. Remarkably intelligent man. There was a lovely bookstore attached to the café and he often could be seen there buying the latest literary tome. One day an Irish woman walked in and her eyes widened: "Is it Billy Connolly then?" Read his wife's memoir. Very amusing, with lots of vignettes of famous people, but also very moving. You'll end up grateful we still got to have him after all he survived.
Billy, you are a total legend. Pamela, you are awesome and sent from heaven. In this video, I resonate with virtually every thing you speak of Billy, to a scary level. Apart from you making me fall on the floor, holding my face and proper peeing with laughter (and that's just from a look on your face or hand gesture)....and I'm not even lying!!! You are a life saver to me and I guess many other souls. Lots of love and kindness from me and my pooch, Ruby.

This interview with your wife is beautiful the both of you are better with each other, the understanding you both have is incredible great interview to remember Thankyou
There is nothing else to do but to love this Man, he is so important as a human being.
Billy Connolly is A truly beautiful person.
pity bout' his old lady.......
@@jackson77722 huh?
Thank you, Pamela, for rescuing this exceptional man and helping his story to be told.
They were blessed to have met each other x
I always loved your comedy, but I’d not realised how clever you are. You’ve answered so many of my life questions. Respect to you Mr Connolly.
How beautiful it is when a couple can laugh together as they do .Two amazing beautiful minds, with the most beautiful hearts ❤️❤️
Thank you Billy and Pamela.
He's such an amazing guy. I feel I need that attitude he's so certain of who he is and what's important in life.
I was driving in Norway in winter 1974/75.Way up north of the country. When I pulled over my artic ( wagon and drag ). Miles from anywhere, and I was just bedding down for the night When a knock on the cab door made me jump out of my skin.LOL. It was a man called Antur, Who showed me to his Wooded
House deep in the forest. ( about a mile in ). diesel generator, No running water.ETC. But he had all of Billy
Connollys records and could understand every word spoken. Something I have never forgotten. Long live Billy and Pamela, Great people.
Oh what a delight this man is...for as long as I can remember. Thank you Billy for your love, your generosity, your honesty - so much of what you shared with us resonated with me. A tough-ish childhood made peace with over time. ❤️❤️❤️
There will only be one , Billy Connolly, just love him!.
I'm on the edge of tears through almost every moment of this, is it just me?
No, I get that🤗
@@deborahducharmporter6131 me too!
Life is tough and through it we grow and learn. Plans never work because we don't get to plan.. That's the point of the journey.
You mean the parts about rage and resisting the church and physical abuse?
I love you both! I can't believe how similar Billy and I are. I at 50 still haven't let go or been able to cope with a tragic and tortured childhood. I've been working on healing myself more lately. But I fear there isn't time left to find peace. Billy YOU give me hope and inspiration. Thank you
That was very profound. Strangely I learned a bit more about myself listening to this. Thank you.
Yes, me too
Me too made me cry and its only my 8th time watching it🤣 oh how I love him.probably because I learn about myself through him x
tis nothing new to anyone who reflects on life without the symbols of torture , single no community motherhood for virgins, fathers who tell you they are god
how can anyone see truth if those symbols are steel in your head and body!
Yes, I know what you mean. Very moved by this. I remember when Billy and Pam first got together...It is nice to see how they have evolved....
You can't help but love them both
Billy is an absolute gem - incredibly rare and unique. Billy and Pamela are an amazing couple. There is a lot of mutual respect between them. Love Billy's insights into this mad, chaotic world and existence!
Very good! I admire Billy Connolly greatly. He not only makes me laugh, he also makes me feel comfortable. Billy Connolly is a great comic story teller. He and his wife compliment each other.
It's so sweet how Billy lets his sensitivity to shine through in this interview. He's a remarkable man.
Could listen to Billy all day long, absolute International Treasure.
Just the Tonic for Coronavirus Lock-Down!
I didn't realise how much I loved this man until recently. Such an amazing, unique human being. So grateful to be able to experience him.
Also, it's beautiful and so obvious that it's his wife interviewing him. 😂
Kind of hard to believe that they are married and not patient and doctor 🤨
The love of my life. I will never forget smoking with you and chatting with you outside Cork opera house. Love your mind. You make me feel like I'm ok after all. God bless you both Pam and Billy xxxxx
Up cork boi
Billy connolly is a comedy genius legend and such a humble man....he's honest and so funny love him
What a man , what a lady and most of all what a couple , i grew up in the Sixty s in a 2 up 2 down and life was and is exactly how Billy describes it , i was so lucky my dad was the kindest man in the world but it wasn't until he was in his 70s he told me he loved me , But i just knew he did , i went to footie with him , i went on the back of his motorbike to his allotments with him , the pub , so i knew he loved me to spend so much time with me .
What a lovely man. He's had a terrible childhood and he turned out fantastic.
Billy.
Ive never met you and probably never will but I'm 33 and I've heard your voice in my life since I was 7 or 8 so it's so nice to hear a "familiar" voice now and then.
Love ya big yin.
Live forever m8
The best thing is we have him immortalised in all the brilliant work he's given us. It's still so upsetting to know he's getting closer the end. But who isn't?
I will watch this over & over & never tire of it.
Cod bless you both - not just for me, but for the many that will also benefit & be entertained by this for a very long time to come. xx
Not one negative 👎🏼 comment on any of his videos. Amazing talent and lovely man & wife.
Long live Billy.
What an incredible couple,, if the world could be filled with people of their calibre,,, just imagine how peaceful and happy we would be.
I have adored Billy since I first saw him in 1989. I'm glad he found Pamela and is still here with us. Brilliant, funny man.
This is a most inspiring interview and an insight into an amazing person and his relationship with his wife relationship
Lovely man.
He used to frequent a coffeehouse in Studio City, quite happy not to be TOO famous here, and to talk with just about anyone. Remarkably intelligent man. There was a lovely bookstore attached to the café and he often could be seen there buying the latest literary tome.
One day an Irish woman walked in and her eyes widened: "Is it Billy Connolly then?"
Read his wife's memoir. Very amusing, with lots of vignettes of famous people, but also very moving. You'll end up grateful we still got to have him after all he survived.
That was very special. He is such a deep and wonderful man.
Onya from Oz Billy
Billy, you are a total legend. Pamela, you are awesome and sent from heaven.
In this video, I resonate with virtually every thing you speak of Billy, to a scary level. Apart from you making me fall on the floor, holding my face and proper peeing with laughter (and that's just from a look on your face or hand gesture)....and I'm not even lying!!! You are a life saver to me and I guess many other souls. Lots of love and kindness from me and my pooch, Ruby.
Billy, you and your family are in my prayers every night, and have been since i found out that you had Parkinson's, and Cancer, you have always made me Laugh, and i will always pray for you, God bless you and your family.
I wish I had Billy's voice man he is Scotland's Morgan Freeman.
So true, that it is
No Morgan Freeman is America’s Billy Conolly
I rather have 10 % from his humor and charisma ,,
@@Pnils1979 euh ??
No hes not. Morgan Freeman is Americas SIR Billy Connolly!!! Have some respect
This is amazing. What a life he has had . Alot of bad shit !! But he never ever lets it get him down. Absolute legend of a man. Im so honoured to be around while this guy is making my laugh , cry and educate me. Thank you sir..
Ye can't beat it ..the Scottish & irish sarcasm.. the bit of banter and the GIFT of story telling it's in the DNA... what a man!! Commedian, Musicians, Actor...
Billy was a shining light to a generation. Through his example, we saw it was okay to be an individual in what was a basically a herd based society. For that I am grateful. Bless you Billy.
The World is a better place for having Billy Connolly in it
Remarkable man, and he's right. Youth of today have nothing, apart from pre-programmed shit, with no fun. Pamela is the saviour of Billy though, and a wonderful person with an enormous heart, God bless her. Such a good feeling to see this wonderful couple cope with what life has thrown at them, a lesson to all of us. Get well Billy x, and thank you for the years of laughter you have given to us.
the way he describes what music did to him, resonates with me so much. truly a legend.
Old Mate ....AND Pete Seeger as well!!
33:21 the getting it or not getting it is such a joy once you realise, other people are having a moment, enjoying themselves and it has nothing to do with you, it’s there moment. It’s wonderful to look on at them “enjoying” something you don’t get and never will. 🥰
I worked backstage on a Billy Connolly show at the Regal Theatre in Perth, W.A.
I commented to him on the odd socks he was wearing.
"Wear what you like," he said."it's not who you are. There are more important things."
The love between the two of them shines through, over and above the insights. Much love to both of them from me oo :-)
Absolutely love Billy my dad brought me up on his comedy and he is one of the most extremely funny inivative and interesting people I have ever seen. Thank you The Big yin ❤
What an inspiring combination of compassion and generosity of spirit. Thank you for sharing this.
I love Billy, that he turned out so lovely through all he's been through is proof that we can become someone with a huge quality, no matter our circumstances. I am so glad you met this lovely woman. Such grace does come about if one creates it. Thank you for this wonderful vid. It is heartfelt.
Thanks for uploading this. Been looking everywhere for it for years.
Wonderful ,
Spectacular, Billy & Pamela are Super. The "angle" - presentation, enter play. Marvelous. So rich & full on so many levels. The best of the very best. 😆😉🌹 X12
I was there too Billy, my Dad never ever said to his four sons that he loved them for apparently it was not manly back then and as you said in todays world we are forever telling our grown up kids that we love them! I and am sure others feel the love you and Pam share! You are such a lovely couple, in fact I didn't see what Pam see's in you! You took comedy to a different level Billy, famous and loved by all world wide! I promise to visit your grave and promise not to stand on yer balls! I am sure if your Dad was alive today, he would have said to you - eye you turned out no bad in the end! Love you guys!
I remember my first introduction listening to Billy in a pals house in the early 80s. It was some of his really early live material on vinyl. It was so funny I had to leave the room because I was laughing so hard I thought I was gonna die. I've been a massive fan ever since. I'm so grateful that he opened himself up to us the way he has. Thanks for your openness. What you shared has helped me to look at and consider the things that have happened in my own life with fresh eyes and mind. Love the way you look at life and people. I wish you long life and happiness to you and yours Billy
Such a wonderful WISE intelligence kind man. He has tough me so so much! ! Love him ❤❤❤
When I was child in Ireland 🇮🇪 , we used trow stones at each other. Climbing trees, making steering cars. Bring back memories. Thanks for sharing Billy and your good wife 👍.
Keep treasuring the quiet moments Billy, that's where the soul speaks to itself.
Dr Pamela Stephenson ( Mrs Billy Connolly) in every interview believes that everyones problems are caused by a feeling of abandonment. I'm beginning to agree in over 80% of cases.
I was lost as a child at a world expo, and I have trust issues to this day.
