Connal is a lovely man. Met him at the London Whisky Show. On the second day I asked to spend a dream dram token on an archive Adelphi Springbank. He said they had run out and I said fair enough. He reappeared a couple of minutes later and placed something special in front of me.
Had to hit the hay early last night with a big headache - the aftermath of being under the weather all week- so caught the replay. Lovely tribute to the big guy there. Still hard to believe he’s left us. He will indeed be missed. On a happier note: I always love these ‘what the industry drinks’ sessions, and Connal really brought his A game to the vPub. 🥃
We are very privileged to have Whisky Galore in NZ, we get far better access than we otherwise would because of those personal relationships Michael and his team have, including Ardnamurchan. We just need to get you down for a DramFest Roy so you can come and sample for yourself.
Yes, a big shout out for Whisky Galore in NZ. They have had Adelphi exclusives, and now I know why (and how). Yes, a Roy visit to NZ is a great idea. A joint session with The Single Malt Review and First Phil would be good.

Lovely tribute to big al. He will be missed. It was an interesting quiz this time. Connal was almost right about the crosshill distillery jn glasgow. It's named crossbill however and currently distills for gin. As for my score 8/10. Not bad at all.

Congratulations to the team at Ardnamurchan. Such a great whisky. Have a bottle of the AD 09.20:01 and met Connal on a video link with WhiskyBrothet in 2020.
Looking forward re-watching this later today on Friday. Just opened one of those "budget" Murray McDavid bottles from earlier this year (???). The Croftengea Double Finish. Excellent combination of peat and sweetness. Big recommendation if you like to have an easy sipper with a vit of funk and Highland Peat. For the tme until we open THE bottles around Christmas. 😍
Good price point too on those bottles, I always feel bad pointing out their near miss on the ABV but - it's me! Yes, a couple of them being very much enjoyed as easy sippers too! Sounds like a good winter warmer - cheers to you Benny and thank you for catching this on the replay!
Connal I think I should become a flipper and start making money from Springbank! Springbank have restricted production for a reason. Why have they restricted production, open your eyes. Springbank could open a bigger distillery if they wanted, but they haven’t why? Barely can be grown in Ardnamurchan, it’s just the farmers refuse to do it. Work the land, If need be! I know a lot of the land is boggy. I’m from a farming background and poor land can be made into land If your willing to put in the work and money!

Probably won’t happen until I retire…and I am only 31 so it will take awhile. But I really want to visit the Ardnamurchan Distillery.
