As a cancer survivor, who went through it all with young children, I completely understand what she is going through. I pray that people respect her wishes. Sending many prayers to her and her family.
As someone who went through cancer, I can confirm it does come as a shock. She doesn't need to accommodate anyone's social expectations of her. She is rightfully drawing a line and prioritizing getting well and her family. I am sending her positive energy and lifting her and her family up in prayer. Absolutely gutted! I underwent a very similar experience last year, major abdominal surgery and then diagnosed with ovarian cancer. I finished chemo last September. The entire experience is incredibly difficult! My heart goes out to her & William & the children!

We don’t need to know the details of the type of cancer. As someone who watched my father pass away from this it is incredibly hard for the person going through it and for the family… even now years after his passing. Give them space.

But we are lucky to live in an age of fairly advanced medicine when it comes to cancer treatment. Hoping her prognosis is positive and that she has many, many years to enjoy with her family.

As a cancer survivor, I send blessings and prayers to Princess Catherine for a full recovery. Given, that her message was pre-recorded , I am surprised that William wasn't there to provide support. I personally know how lonely and isolating a cancer diagnosis can be. Maybe it's just my intuition but, her sitting on a bench alone reminded me of Diane sitting on a bench at the Taj Mahal.

As a middle aged American woman I have always adored and admired this woman. I’m not sure the press would ever recognize she is someone many of us look up to, not just because she is a princess but her entire image is one in which we strive for. She is a role model for many so this is very sad for a great number of women and girls all over the world. No one else typifies grace, respect, duty and beauty both inside and out like she does. We need her now more than ever in this world to show decency and respect are still characteristics we should strive for. Princess Catherine now teaches us courage.

@@madampoloThat’s incorrect. It could be uterine, ovarian, colon, stomach, liver….primary or metastases, gall bladder…..We have no clue. Also, almost any cancer can spread to the abdomen through lymph nodes.
I was 9 when my mom died of cancer. It was hard to see my mom go through that.
