he also ONCE took my dog for a walk. I gave him full instructions on how she, despite my best efforts and the dog training I took her too... not great at recall if she thought something more interesting was going on. He walked her past a cafe on the beach and across the wide beach. then let her off lead. As he is not her owner I told him not to do that. he defied my instructions. She ran straight back to the cafe where people were eating.. smelling bacon and there was another dog there to play with.. he WHISTLED her back.. or tried to. I had given him instructions on her words for recall.. and he didn't use any of them. I even told him to walk her on his left side as I do.. and all the right words she was trained to. She ran off TOWARDS THE ROAD. He told me about it when he came back. I was so angry with him and he blamed her for not coming back to his whistle. I said. when did I say I had trained her to whistle.. never! The tin lid as it were was I got cancer last year. This eejit rang me up and I gave him all the details.. I was getting a lumpectomy.. not a masectomy and I explained the difference. 3 weeks later he rang and asked.. 'are they CUTTING off your breast then?' No care of his words to me at a sensitive time. i was keeping to together as I am alone in all of this.. it was brutal and rude and unintelligent and stupid. We haven't spoken since. I am much better off. I had known him over 40 years.. enough was enough. There are fools out there.. get rid of them. I hung on far too long over far too many instances.

5:01 -- "Why she's standing there crying, I don't know." The words of a controlling, self-centered mother lacking in all awareness of her actions. She's crying because of _you,_ you ditch! You're taking her wedding away from her and making it yours, just as my mother tried to do to me. Hillary needs to be able to say, "Look Mom -- if you don't back off and let me make decisions on my own, I'll elope. Period." And she needs to make it stick.

I had a friend whose mom & sister wanted her & her husband to have this Cinderella like wedding. She had to put her foot down & tell them "no;" she & her husband want a simple affair. She got married in a short white dress, he wore a gray suit, & most importantly, they were happy.

The bride to be grew up with an overbearing, abusive mother who made all the decisions for her. A tragic situation but one she subconsciously was used to. Well, she found the same person in her future husband. Sooo sad.

I can't with the mom. She's a bit of a control freak & the dad, just sort of sits there passively. YOu know who is the head of the household with that woman. I grew up with parents like that. It's not the most pleasant dynamic & I can relate some to te impact on the daughter. She is sort of nervous & just wanting a constant exit strategy out of the situation & likely has ALOT to do with growing up with that type of parent. I went through it to & had to do a lot of healing work around it. When a parent gets that sort of forceful on their child about doing certain things a certain way, it carries over & affects them in their adult life & relationships. Good thing is, it seems like she has a more stable & confident man in her life, that speaks up a bit more than her own dad, because it seems like her mom never really allowed her dad to even have the upper hand... even when he told her that he knew that second dress was the one, the mom HAD to tell him, the second dress, ALTERED... like REALLY? Can you just let other people have their moment, or be right, instead of constantly interjecting why they're wrong?

My MIL and SIL'S were ignorant of how to act properly in a store (YES!)🙄😬😬🙄 So I had my MOH and HER mom go with me, and I found the dress after only one stop and 3 dresses. I get sad sometimes that she missed that experience; but that was on her. She didn't see my dress until I picked it up after alterations. I paid for the dress MYSELF, and my husband and I paid for our wedding OURSELVES; that makes a HUGE Difference, they had NO say-so on ANYTHING!😉😉😉In May we will be together 41 years.
