Vic is an absolute miracle worker. I've sewn garments for the last 40 years and to remake something that massively is complex. Full credit to that woman's skill!
@@ceezee8479 it just changed the line of the bust to dart it like that. The neckline went from a rounded sweetheart cut that makes the waist look smaller to a kind of strange angled neckline that wasn’t as flattering. I would have added a strap to help keep it in place and save the neckline.
@@jenniferford2067 ah, yes. I see what you mean. I'm a stitcher (that's the male term for seamstress) and I could see all the work that had to be done, and it was a LOT of deconstruction. The darting was necessary, but the neckline could have been preserved with a lot of extra efforts and steps. It would almost be better to take the dress apart completely and build a custom corset, applying the original dress fabric on top of it, which is what I would have suggested doing. The designer probably would have disliked the idea, but they were out of business, so...
@@AndrewMacLaine yep. I don’t discount how much trouble this would have been. I’ve seen a custom ball gown with lace appliqué and pleating design themes for my daughter who is plus size and large busted. Making the custom corset structure to fit her measurements and still have the right proportions was hours of work just on the pattern making. This was a challenge and if the bride was happy with the result I think that’s wonderful. The more flattering option for alteration would have been an insane amount of work.
The chirpy happy demeanour of the staff is refreshing! 😃 Transforming a size 14 to look this amazing in a size 20 has the wow factor. Who is this seamstress - she is gold! 🌟
That seamstress is absolutely remarkable. That bridal shop is so lucky to have her . And as for the dress …..!!!! Wow .the bride looks lovely .What a triumph .
Hat off to the bride for knowing what she wanted and sticking with it and looking amazing and standing ovation for the seamstress she is a professional!
Those alterations were absolutely inspired! The bride looks stunning! She obviously felt (and looks) like a fairytale princess. That was a calculated risk she took but it paid off with the seamstress's incredible talent and fashion sense. Standing ovation all around.
They did an amazing job with alterations. The dress isn’t my cup of tea but the point of a bridal gown is that it makes the bride feel amazing and she was able to get the dress of her dream because of that seamstress. That lady is wonderful!
I'm so happy they were able to tailor her dream dress and save the day. She looked so happy and radiant on her wedding day and her groom looked over the moon as she walked down the aisle towards him. May they have many happy years together 🙏💖🙏
My hats off to the seamstress. There were a lot of changes that needed to be made. I personally don't think I would have chosen a dress that had so much to be altered. In the end, the bride was happy and she did look lovely.
Glad it wasn't just me being overly fussy. Vicki did an amazing job, with particularly difficult alterations but agreed, the sweetheart neckline isn't fitting correctly.
Yes agree, I think the alternations across the bust made the dress look so ill-fitting. A lot of work must have gone into it and I appreciate the artistry, but I wouldn't have altered it like that
Vic is a genius! The gown is stunning on Sacha. I was hired as an assistant manager at a bridal salon two weeks before the owner declared bankruptcy. At that point, the brides could not get their gowns, or get their 50% deposits back. Worse than being threatened by parents, was hearing these poor brides cry their eyes out. We did our best to find a gown for them that worked, that was already in the store.
I know a lot of people don’t like how the bust ended up but I think it was because of how much the dress had to be opened up to accommodate her and then how they needed to bring certain areas back in. Obviously it would have looked better if they could have just got a size 20, but that wasn’t an option. If I was sacha I’d have made the same decision. She looked lovely and more comfortable with the bust bought in, before it was bought in she looked like she was going to spill out of it. She looked gorgeous and that’s all the matters
Stop using th word gorgeous so loosely, she looks th best she possibly COULD look, but its still a hog in a gown no matter how much glitz and lace you tack onto it !!
Seriously incredible job! That is truly a special and totally unique gown. I’m so glad they were able to make it work. Gorgeous bride and her groom was SO SWEET when he saw her coming down the aisle.
Those are some truly amazing human beings. They could have easily just told her sorry too bad but didn't. They made a miracle happen and truly made a person who's probably not felt seen much in her life seen AND loved through this beautiful time in her life.
I just don't think the fit was flattering. Her bust all skewed and over flow. I think there could have been better fits for her. And also the colour wasn't matched to her skin tones. The tones in the dress took the life out of her skin. These are all things that you wanna help the bride understand
Beautiful. This bride is so stressed but for nothing! Lovely hubby, lovely dress, lovely family! Weddings are so stressful, but once you are in the magic, nothing seems even slightly noticeable anymore! you are in the moment and have beautiful memories for ages to come! Take it from a bride whose wedding was cancelled 3 months before and rescheduled at a different location overseas (still in the USA though) a month before the wedding!!! Talk about a wild ride! The dress was the least of our worries! We had a month to find a venue, a bilingual officiator, flowers, travel reservations, transport, enough money to afford it! How about wedding announcements and canceling everyone on the guest list except those who could make it there? How about finding out how to even register a marriage? It was a place we had never even been to! But it all came together quite miraculously.
A completely spectacular job on this gown! My mom made our clothes and she would have been in awe of the skill-level needed!!! Such a beautiful bride!!!
I had to do this with my wedding dress. I gained A LOT of weight all of a sudden and my friend took out the back and made it a tie up. It was beautiful. The dress shop wanted to rip up the lace sides and put in plain white panels on each side. Grateful for my friends!
Do we all see the same dress? After alterations front of the dress looks extremely uncomfortable and not pleasing to the bride. Dress is gorgeous and she looked very happy but don't tell me it suits her.
Absolutely stunning dress! And Sacha looked so very happy with how it turned out; that is the result of a shoppe with a wise, kind shopkeeper, wickedly talented seamstresses, and an absolutely beautiful bride. And let’s not forget the brides very supportive and fantastic friends. Wonderful episode!
Absolutely gorgeous bride your dress was stunning on you. The seamstress and the bridal shop were amazing. Quite often that style of gown doesn’t fit properly around the bust, this seamstress waved her magic wand. Many happy years together!❤️
Oh, no. That dress was attrocious. The way the pleats fell in the front was so bad!! How could a seamstress, or anyone, miss that? They were so pulled. But she loved it, was happy, and that's all that matters. May they have 100 years of happiness.
Size 14 to Size 20 is 3 sizes...dress sizes are configured in multiples of 2. :) I agree, the dress fits beautifully and everyone at the dress shop was lovely. Beautiful work! :)
I think it was remarkable the seamstress was able to alter and had enough fabric to make the dress fit the bride. But to be honest it just looked odd, especially the bodice and bust area. Plus you can tell the back was designed for a zip so it ended up a bit too hodgepodge. I think she would’ve been better to start again, a dress with a fitted top and a cinched in waist would’ve looked more flattering without all the ties at the back.
Vic is an absolute miracle worker. I've sewn garments for the last 40 years and to remake something that massively is complex. Full credit to that woman's skill!
my blood pressure went up just thinking about it 😅
Such a beautiful lady in a beautiful dress
I love how grateful she was and how much credit she gave the seamstresses. They did a phenomenal job and the bride looked gorgeous.
She was a lovely bride.
Fabulous dress
As a seamstress, I am ASTOUNDED. This took an insane level of skill.

I see why the bride took the risk. That dress is so pretty.
It really is beautiful

Bride, her friends, consultant , seamstress everyone was so calm and composed. Bride looked beautiful in the dress.

Very talented seamstresses!! The designer talented too.
Nice design. I can’t believe anyone could do so well!! Cute bride; she looked great.
She looks amazing - what a beautiful dress. It's nice to see the huge skill and hours of the seamstress acknowledged here.
I think the lace instead of a zipper is much better. It looks great!
I agree!!! I think it looks better with the corset
Hello MyOwnDrum, How’re you doing?
The dress is absolutely stunning, being a seamstress myself they did an amazing job, but it doesn’t fit her chest within width correctly

That dress is soooo freaking unique. Couldn’t imagine it without the corset back. ❤ It was meant to be.
The chest bit at the end was a little off but whatever as long as she’s happy and she loved it..❤️
It’s a beautiful gown. Looks like in the end, the bust ended up being a smidge too small, though.
I've got to admit, that's one of the loveliest wedding dresses I've ever seen! You look absolutely amazing in it! Blessing!
I don’t love the dress itself but on the bride it looks incredible!! Suits her so well
Its not something I would wear but it is pretty.
The dress is quite nice on the bride but would look stunning on someone thinner I think.
