There's two things about this whole event, that have been very much twisted to make this out to be some indictment of Korean men. First, the number of participants in the chat, yes it was 220,000, but no, that wasn't all Korean users. The chat was operated outside of Korea. We currently do not know how many of the users are Korean. It's still under investigation, but the most likely number is between 1-10 thousand. Some speculate it's lower, at around 800. Second, the stat saying 53% of Deepfakes are of Koreans. That statistic is based off of Korean public figures such as Kpop Stars. 97% I believe is the percentage of these deepfakes being Kpop idols. This isn't a good situation we are in, but it's complicated now by people using false data.
THere is agenda to paint Korean men as these misogynist pigs and South Korea as being super backwards with Korean women have to be saved. I can't help but feel this is just long standing yellow peril stereotype in the west. Maybe to combat the rise of Korean wave.
My comment was deleted. I write it again. I think there is agenda to picture KOrean men as being most misogynist because of the rise of Korean wave. It's like how dare Korean guys become cool.
@@kwak76 I tend to be willing to believe that, you're not the first one mentioning this anti-Korean men agenda. And i wouldn't be surprised that this gaslight comes from these women that don't respect themselves and do all these morally questionable "jobs" and activities. Anyways, i would come to the conclusion with a question, why would they respect women that don't respect themselves ?
@@kwak76 Same just got one of mine deleted too... Freedom of speech Basically i was saying that you're not the first one mentioning that anti-Korean men agenda. That it was probably a gaslight coming from these women that do these questionable work/activities. And why should men respect these women ? As a conclusion/question
