She is not only severely underrated but hidden from the music scene altogether. That's a crime. The talent is beyond next level and deserves high class recognition.
Hell, yeah it is! When I heard the first guitar chord, I said, Al DiMeola, Chick Corea, and a very young great bass prodigy, Stanley Clarke, Return to Forever, bam!
Wrong. As much as I love her bass playing, check out her fellow Indian bassist, Sheldon D'Siva. Then there's Henrik Linder, Michel Alibo, Bjorn Meyer, Carles Benavent -- and for a special mind-boggling treat -- the 5-string contrabassist, Renaud Garcia-Fons. Part 1: ruclips.net/video/58euFo9uluA/видео.html. Part 2: ruclips.net/video/eim_QlKcprk/видео.html You're listening to 4 tracks of his custom-made contrabasse. Both bowed (arco) and plucked (pizzicato) plus drumming on it. Tell me ... have you ever heard anything better?
Would you guys put Charles Berthoud on that list ? He is a very versatile bass player - had very heavy Victor Wooten influence in his style … a bit like Guthrie Govan is on the guitar .
This is about as Return to Forever as you can get composition wise...brilliant..Mohini you are a phenomenal bass player, just amazing. What a drummer.!
Hell, yeah it is! When I heard the first guitar chord, I said, Al DiMeola, Chick Corea, and a very young great bass prodigy, Stanley Clarke, Return to Forever, bam!
@@fuzznutz7182 Haha, I love Rush and agree there is only one Geddy Lee, but hard to say Marco Minnemann is no-name at least in the Prog/Fusion world he's one of the best
@@fuzznutz7182because she plays jazz fusion not rock. It’s not a popular genre. Any bass player with experience playing this style of music and has ears can tell she’s insanely good. I’m sure Geddy Lee would commend her skills himself because he’s not dense like you are
Different styles, different type of music. James Jamerson will not be able to play like her just as she could not play like him. James learned on a stand up bass as electric bass was still a new thing (was it even invented when he first started learning?) . It's an apples to Orange comparison
Wow! Love the tune. Everyone is killing it. Mohini, as usual, you were jamming! Love the bass face... I know Marcus Miller, Nathan East and everyone else is blown away by your mad skills. Love to see you live in Sacramento, CA.
erreur ca sonne super bien mais bon c pas du allan holdsworth.....manque juste le lyrisme et l etrangete pure et si touchante tu grand allan Holdsworth
@@stuartdryer1352 Same here. What fascinated me is that Alan in an interview said he was mainly influenced my jazz sax players, so he was playing sax on his guitar it seems.
Wow that's an interesting composition. YES, the band can shred--but nowadays who can't? I heard the song and I heard focus on musicality, not chops. That's so refreshing!! I really enjoyed this! Mohini Dey, you do you, man! Everything I've listened to of yours seems to have some individuality. Not just shredding for shredding's sake. Dude--that is SOOO nice for my ears to hear in today's music scene
Oh oh oh!!! Thank you for making music more interesting again! And that last 30 seconds (fake-out mysterious ending - complete with your amazing guitarist's eye roll saying "you think we're done?!).. and thank you for the blue lipstick! 💋
Great music - jazz, progressive rock, New Age, musician virtuoso, what else, love your music! Would it be possible to play some classic tunes using your styles. songs like Amazing Grace, God bless America, I will always love you, etc.
I wish my phone had better bass. This was juicy thinking. Also, I dig the blue lipstick and love that you put as much into your visual expression as you do your sonic expression. Consistency in artful living and joy. As an ensemble, you guys were groovy.
Very high professionalism. Although I don't like constructed music, especially if its "not cantabile music" But I have to say this is a very interesting piece of music.
Amazing! Mohini is an amazingly talented player Enjoy others, too Looks like guitarist is playing a Kiesel Maybe an Holdsworth model Great guitars and such unique sounds

bass queen ...
Aggressive Progressive Jazz. No excuses, just in your face and ringing in your ears music.
Hell, yeah it is! When I heard the first guitar chord, I said, Al DiMeola, Chick Corea, and a very young great bass prodigy, Stanley Clarke, Return to Forever, bam!

Music that only a musician’s musician can understand, but that we can all feel. ❤
Brings back nostalgia from the 80s.
INCREIBLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE LA BAJISTA ...., aunque Todosssss son muy buenossssssssss
You are an absolute legend of the instrument, as are your bandmates. But you, YOU.... just damn.
I can't get enough of this piece of music...... 🎶🌼💕
Love Mohihi Dey's bass! She looks good in blue, too.
Everything in place, great musicians. As a drummer, I love that kind of bass sound
She's got a great lead tone too which is so rare on bass, This could be a great band live!
I aaggre.....She is rare ☺
If she so good why hasn't she made it in the Big time and is always playing with no name musicians on u Tube. Shes no Geddy Lee

Wow... I just love this music. Hope I get my hands on this one when it's released. Absolutely amazing.
Great music, great feel, very original. Rare these days. Thank you so much!
Good hell......what a piece of music. That was so good it's tough to find words that quantify the immense sum of its parts.
I dont think i have heard anything with so much Latin and Holdsworth groove combined! Such a great sound!
amazing talent. after a few mins, the million notes a sec gets a lil fatiguing. nothing like the sweetness of james jamerson n chuck rainey
There’s enough room for everything. IMHO

This video and that song have sat with me for 6 months now. Incredible playing
All of you are awesome !! Guitarist sounds like the unique Allan Holdsworth. Thanks a lot for this masterpiece.

Badass-ary. Mad Props.
Great music - jazz, progressive rock, New Age, musician virtuoso, what else, love your music! Would it be possible to play some classic tunes using your styles. songs like Amazing Grace, God bless America, I will always love you, etc.
Les Claypool? Geddy Lee? Jaco Pastorius? I hear all three and it's throwing me off, but in a great way. I love it 🤟
