Your attention to the details is what keeps me coming back when you release videos. Thanks for all the great videos
Glad to hear it!
Great video thank for explaining how your products are sold and why I will be buying from you in the future as I'm getting closer to the installation needs.
Awesome! Glad it clears it up. Thanks for tuning in!
I just want to congratulate you two on your sharp entrepreneur skills. Watching your video, it almost makes it look like it was easy to do what you do. But I am 100% sure, it was a bumpy road at times to get to where you are now, but you two pulled it off. Boom!
I am 71, and if I was a bit younger, I probably would be on our 3rd van build making simple camping-trip vans to sell. But we are too busy with grandkids (17!), church and taking care of Susie's 91-year old father living next door in our extra little house. Again - congrats and blessings on you two - and your business and channel. You are such a great resource for so many others.
Awesome! Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
Good Morning. Thank you for all you done. But you should have started years earlier. But that is OK I have learned so much from you. Jack
Ha! We both had some valuable life experiences that needed to happen before we started all this up in order for this to work as it has. 😁👍
Love your site, diagrams and tutorials. Best i have found on the web. Keep up the good work and blessings for the 2023 year.
Hey Jeff Roller, Thanks so much! Cheers!
Love your videos and store! You guys are a HUGE resource for me and my build. Congratulations on your anniversary!
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome stuff!
Congratulations on your first year. We will be reaching out to you soon for the wiring and professional help we will need to finish our 2022 Sprinter Van. You guys are amazing!!!
Awesome! Glad it helped. Thanks for watching!
Just ordered mine! You guys are the best!
Rad. Thanks! Glad you found it helpful.
Just wanted to say thanks...you are so informative and helpful 👍
You are so welcome!
Talk to me about selecting a propane generator with an automatic start on low battery.
Another informative video guys, thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
HI Guys,
So you can supply everything needed for a full and complete electrical setup for a new caravan build. From the car battery to the instrument panels to the solar panels and everything in between.
Cheers.
The only thing we don't sell out of our store is the batteries and the inverter/charger, but the links to purchase the recommended ones are on the bottom of every full kit page.
Congrats. Great set up combination of parts.
Thanks!
Thanks, Guys.
Thanks for tuning in!
I'm sure you get a million questions. I'm trying to just do a solar system on a small camper trailer with 2 12v USB a couple 5ft led light strips, a 12v fridge which is easy enough. However I also need an air conditioner but 12v units are way too expensive I usually have shore power or a generator available but my question is could I run a window unit air conditioner off solar for a reasonable amount of time? Or is it more cost effective to just get a 12v unit?
I've recently heard some good things about Epoch batteries. What is your opinion of them?
Great videos. Do you guys ship to Ireland?
244 Congratulations. .. I'll check it as I am starting a small project.
Hey David Patrick, Thanks so much! Cheers!
Hoping to take advantage of your Black Friday promotion, but need advice on what I should be purchasing.
I own a 50 amp fifth wheel with a built in generator, so have an automatic transfer switch. I have purchased 3 100 AH Battleborn batteries, a Victron MultiPlus II 12/3000/120 device, a BMV-712 Smart battery monitor, a VE Bus Smart dongle, and a short RJ45 cable all from Battleborn.
I want to install just those components now, with the intent of adding solar in the future.
Can you configure an All-In-One kit of what wiring and associated items I will need to complete the install myself?
Thank you!
As of 11/21/22, we don't have a complete wiring kit for electrical upgrade retrofits on OEM RV's. We are are currently missing the shore power extension kit, 120V distribution panel extension kit, and battery relocation kit. I was hoping to have those up and ready to go by this week, but I ran out of time, but I plan to have those ready to go by the end of the year.
That said... you'll still need a 4/0x4 battery bank wiring kit, Victron Multiplus 2x120V wiring kit, Lynx Distributor wiring kit, and most of the other kits we offer. Here is the wiring diagram for a 50A OEM RV Retrofit: shop.explorist.life/shop/all-products/plans-and-diagrams/solar-wiring-diagrams/50a-camper-inverter-w-solar-alternator-charging-high-res-wiring-diagram/
You can piece all of the 'Component Kits' you'll need together yourself on the store. I think I've made it pretty user friendly: shop.explorist.life
If you need me to put together the component kits you'd need, I can do that since you're using all Battle Born and Victron Equipment and plan on following our diagram... but... I would require a deposit. Here is more info on that: shop.explorist.life/shop/uncategorized/custom-kit-request/
Nice
Thanks!
Can you configure the "EXPLORE+ 600Ah Camper Van Wiring Kit" so that I can use Epoch batteries (2 300AH batteries in a 2015 Winnebago Navion 24V (View) Chassis is a 2014 Mercedies sprinter 3500.
Perhaps just work your way through the 'system picker' embedded on the home page. All of those have options to use larger (but fewer) batteries as you see fit.
The 'complete' kit you are referencing is more for those who don't want any changes.
Congrats
Hey Rudi van Doornegat, Thanks so much! Cheers!
CONGRATULATIONS! Amazing milestone! I have 3 batteries. Is that not recommended since you dont have kits for it?
3 batteries is fine. You'd just use one of the 4x battery kits. We just didn't have room on our shelves for 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 6x, battery kits so we had to pair down and you all just have to round up.
@@EXPLORISTlife Thank you! I appreciate that. And thank you for the Black Friday sale! Hopefully the sale is up by the time I get all the stuff I buy and I know what I need to buy to get going.
Thank you for your great work guys. I do try and support your channel through purchasing from your store however the cost of shipping to down under is horrendous. Can you guys possibly look into varying methods of shipping? I know for my last purchase, shipping was more than the product I bought. Cheers.
Yeah, shipping prices is indeed pretty crazy. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about shipping prices. We actually usually take a loss on international shipping. There are other shipping providers for sure, but we've had some pretty terrible experiences with non-UPS. We definitely appreciate the support, but don't expect it when shipping is so absurd internationally.
I have a Class A motor home with an existing 50 Amp service. I would like to install 800-1000 Ah lithium and 1600 W+ solar. Which wiring diagram guide is the best match?
Check out explorist.life/solarwiringdiagrams and look for the 50A OEM RV Retrofit or the Split Phase diagram depending on if you need 3000w or 6000w of inverting power, respectively.
What is your thoughts regarding the "All-In-One" units?
They are fine for a 'chuck it in the car and go' type of things for weekend camping.
Thanks for all the videos. The world would be a safer place if I saw them 10 years ago. Starting my 2nd rig and want to do it right. Do you have retail/ can I stop by? Greetings from Eagle County!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful. We don't have a retail storefront. 😁👍
Your diagrams are so useful! I just have a quick question, I am looking at the 400-600Ah diagram for my build and wondering if there would be any issue swapping the Multiplus for a Multiplus II? I assume they have all the same features. Or was there a reason to not go with the Multiplus II? Thanks! :)
Although they SHOULD be the same and I'm confident enough in that for you to try it; I haven't had first hand experience on that unit yet, so if there are any little tiny nuances, I may not know about them yet. But the major concepts that our wiring kits address (wire size, fuse size, etc) are the exact same.
@@EXPLORISTlife Yea the site says it includes everything the standard multiplus has, so I agree it should be fine. Just thought I'd ask as the Multiplus II is nearly €1000 cheaper where I am, not sure if that's the case in the US also. Thanks for the reply, yous are hugely helpful! ☺️
Your Victron Orion-TR Smart 12-12-30 DC to DC Charger Wiring Kit shows a direct connection to the ORM battery. Instead of connecting to the OEM battery, Ford recommends connecting to the Customer Connection Point 2 (CPP2). CCP2 provides 175 amps of charging power. Will this kit connect to CCP2?
OR, you did not cover alternator charging in your DIY CAMPER VAN ELECTRICAL INSTALL, and perhaps you have another method you will be recommending in your upcoming alternator charging video. Should I wait for a new wiring kit to be recommended in your video?
Also, your battery wiring kits appear to assume multiple batteries will be arranged side-by-side. I will four 100 amp batteries arranged end-to-end. Do your battery wiring kits have enough wire to accommodate this arrangement?
Thanks.
Our Orion kits will indeed connect to the ccp2 connection of the Transit.
We talked about Alternator Charging In our Transit Electrical Install, so just go watch that for the additional info you were asking about.
The wire length included in each battery bank wiring kit is listed in the product description, so you want to arrange your batteries differently than I recommend, you want to do your own due diligence and measure to make sure it'll work.
I wish would do so a setup for a Transit Connect. My sister has one and an EcoFlow River that she wants to charge while driving 🚗. Is there a setup for that?
All of our setups can be installed in pretty much whatever type of camper you've got going on.
We don't have any 'portable power station integration kits', though.
@@EXPLORISTlife if you think of any, please give me the heads up.
For sure! No kits like that come to mind at the moment. When we use a portable power unit like that for weekend car-camping, we just chuck it in the car and call it good enough.
Congratulations on your one year anniversary! I've been enjoying your tutorials for awhile, they are excellent and some of the best on RUclips. It has been great to watch you grow the original content into a sustainable business; the store and parts kits are fantastic. Looking forward to your future! 🙂
For me, the electrical system is the most important aspect of my project, especially because the knowledge is useful in non-camper DIY setups as well.
It would be interesting to see a collaboration video between Explorist and Will Prowse, maybe reviewing and discussing the details of one of the Explorist kits and installation. For example, he's got an awesome Battleborn Battery teardown video: ruclips.net/video/G5E30u-66VI/видео.html
I'd also be interested in a video about appliances and loads. For example, I'm figuring out directly powering most of my equipment without an AC inverter -- laptop, monitor -- anything with an AC-DC power "brick". There's great information in the DIY/off-grid solar communities, but it feels like not too much of an extension of the ExploristLife mission/products too.
Cheers! Congrats again!
Hey! Thanks for tuning in and for the ideas. 😁👍
Awesome job, I've been planning my system for a few months now, almost ready to pull the trigger on some of the components. I have a question though, I'm on the other side of the spectrum, I don't want to buy all of the tools needed to cut, crimp, heat shrink and test my cables... Are there any plans to offer pre assembled custom size cables?
Not in the near future, no. Buying tools is just part of a DIY project. If I teach you how to build a cabinet, I'm going to expect you to have a drill, saw, and a tape measure. Same principle with electrical; you're going to need the tools to accomplish the task.
@@EXPLORISTlife I understand, I do have the basic DIY power tools that I've used for several projects, but this kind of one time electric endeavor seems to me overkill to spend on speciality tools that I won't use that often. I will have to keep evaluating whether or not to splurge for some good tools.

Battel born is so fucking expensive
Instead buy a server rack 48v 100ah battery which costs half the price of battle born when compared equal in equal quantites
Most rack servers are not designed to be installed in mobile applications like campers and will void their warranty if installed like that. Battle Born Batteries are specifically designed for that type of installation. They are more expensive than all of the 'dollar general' brands, but their quality is backed up by superior customer service, support, and warranty.
